Noah
Noah opened his eyes and squinted in the sudden light. "Ugh." His head felt really heave and he wanted to throw up. He picked up his bottle of water and drank most of it in one gulp.
Noah yawned and looked beside him. AJ was still sleeping. HE quickly tried to remember what had happened last night.
"Oh crap."
AJ
AJ felt movement.
She groaned a little, instantly feeling a headache, before realizing there was a light shining in her eyes.
She held a hand over her eyes before opening them. Then she realized it was the sun.
Rolling over onto her other side, she saw Noah watching her and frowned. Where was she? Oh yeah, she was staying at his place for the night. But she couldn't remember last night.
"Mornin'," she murmured, holding her head.
Noah
"Morning AJ." Noah created her up a bottle of water. "Here, it helps a little."
He got up and groaned. "What did we do to the walls?"
AJ
AJ took the bottle of water and drank a little, then squinted at the wall.
She almost spat the water back out again.
"Uh... oops?"
The wall wasn;t looking as white as it had been before...
Noah
"Nah, my fault too. I can clean it later." Noah leaned back against the couch.
"Hope I wasn't out of line last night."
AJ
"Umm..." AJ looked a little sheepish, "I ah... I don't exactly remember much."
She blushed a little, thinking if he said that something must have happened.
She fiddlied with the bottle lid nervously.
Noah
Noah shrugged. "I'm guessing something might've happened, considering we're both sleeping together... uh, I mean next to each other. You know?"
He created himself another bottle of water.
AJ
AJ flinched slightly, desperately trying to remember.
"Umm... can I use your bathroom?" she asked softly, scratching her arm as she looked around.
What a mess...
Noah
Noah nodded and pointed. "Yeah just through there."
He groaned as he saw all the drinks. "Oh my god, what time are our dads getting home?"
AJ
"I don't know. Are they both coming here?" she asked, standing up holding her head.
Without waiting for an answer, she made her way toward the bathroom and closed the door.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she cringed. God, what happened?
She went about her business, washed her face and emerged moments later looking a bit better.
"Umm... if you rememebred something you'd tell me, right?" she raised her eyebrows.
Noah
"I'm pretty sure all we did was kiss. A few times."
He rubbed his eyes. "Yeah, they'll be here soon. What's the time?" Noah looked at his watch. "I think we have a few hours. You can go back to sleep if you want, I better clean up."
Noah created some garbage bags and went around collecting the paper plates, and the kero bottles.
AJ
AJ almost choked on her own saliva.
She kissed Noah? Numerous times? Oh God. She hardly knew him...
She rubbed her head with a gulp.
"Um, ok. Sorry if I freaked you out or anything," she apologized.
She laid down on the couch and watched him, before falling asleep again.
Noah
"Nah it's cool."
Noah went around picking up all the rubbish and folded his blanket and put it away. He grabbed his pillow and threw it into his room before going to the laundry and getting a bucket and a sponge. He filled the bucket with soapy water and came back to the lounge. Noah began the task of cleaning the walls.
"Oh god."
He finally finished cleaning the walls and went to put the stuff away. He went into his bathroom and had a quick shower, and brushed his teeth. He was never going on a bender again. Well for the rest of this month. Noah dashed back to his room and put on some clean jeans, then found a shirt and buttoned it up. As he finished dressing, he heard his dad's car pull up. He rushed back to where AJ was to make sure there was nothing he'd missed. Satisfied with his cleaning effort, he went into the bathroom and hung his towel up, just as his dad and AJ's dad came into the house.
AJ
"Good morning Noah," AJ's father nodded to the young man before spying his daughter asleep on the couch.
He smiled, and continued through to the eating area. Noah's father stopped before him.
"AJ's father has just finished transferring to a hotel in the city, here in Tulsa. We'll be working from here instead of me travelling to Oklahoma City every day or night," he informed him.
Noah
Noah nodded, trying to look like he wasn't hung over. He went over to AJ and looked at her for a few seconds before continuing back to his room where he began to play his guitar.
AJ
AJ murmured a little and opened her eyes again hearing the sound of the guitar.
She could hear men's voices coming from the dining area, and recognized one as her father - the other must have been Noah's. Quickly glancing at the wall, she sighed with relief when she saw everything looked clean.
Then she returned her focus to the guitar.
Holding her breath a little, she slowly and quietly stood and made her way toward Noah's bedroom.
She stopped at the doorway and leant against it to watch him. He didn't notice her at first. She sighed as listened to him play. He was good.
Noah
Noah had his back to the door, so he didn't see AJ. He began to sing.
"I could live a thousand years if I could be alone with you
And every second of my life I would never play the fool
I'd never turn my back to you
I was the one who saw you first
A grain in the sands of the universe
I never knew what was ahead of me..."
He stopped for a second and wrote the chords down.
The song is "Shades of Love" - Empty Trash
AJ
"Nice," she nodded, drawing attention to herself.
She moved slightly into the doorway and leant back on it as she folded her arms.
"You're a good guitarist, no doubt about that," she raised her eyebrows.
Noah
"Thanks." He put the guitar down and pointed to the seat in front of the desk.
"I know, singing needs work."
AJ
"You're voice is fine too," AJ insisted, nervously going to sit on the seat he indicated.
She glanced over the music sheets on his desk.
"And you're welcome. Your band must be good... what's the band's name?"
Noah
"Thanks." He nervously smiled at AJ.
"The bands alright... I guess. We're called Room69. Long story."
Noah fiddled with his guitar, wondering what to say next.
AJ
"Can I come and hear you guys play sometime? Assuming I can stay in Tulsa for a while..." she began.
She she chuckled a bit.
"Still wanna meet that drummer of yours."
Noah
Noah nodded. "Yeah, assuming you stay, of course. I'm going to see them tonight anyway. Party. Although, I don't think I'll be getting drunk again too soon."
AJ
AJ looked uncomfortable at the idea. She'd had no intention of getting drunk at all on this trip, now what had she done? She'd got drunk, obviously, but what she done while she was drunk?
She nodded.
"I thought I heard Dad say he's moved to a hotel here," she said, partly to herself, "If so I guess we'll see a bit more of each other... unless he decides just to take off somewhere else. I think next time he does he's just going to send me home."
She sighed.
"Missing a month of school already."
Noah
"I didn't mean that you have to come with me... I just meant if I don't go they might get a bit narky coz I haven't seen them in a bit."
Noah fidgeted again nervously. "You know, maybe we should go out to our dads, they might think we're doing things."
AJ
"Things... could be interesting," AJ chuckled, then put her head in her hands, "maybe I don't really want to remember what happened last night. I have a feeling that... it was bad."
She chuckled.
"And I didn't mean to go with you, I mostly hate parties. I just meant generally hanging out."
Noah
Noah was silent for a second. "Well if we want to remember, I guess we could just find a telepath. I think the Hanson's little sister is one. She could probably dig those memories up for us."
Noah gingerly touched a bruise on his head. "Although, I'm not sure I wanna know how I got that."
AJ
AJ covered her mouth wondering if she'd done it.
She could have thrown him across the room and not remembered it. Just her luck.
"Ummm... I don't either," she replied.
She didn't want to say anything to the Hanson thing, considering she didn't actually want to meet them.
Noah
Noah noticed her worried expression. "Don't worry, I don't think you did it. Most likely I fell over or something. We were pretty gone."
Noah took a deep breath. "OK, see now things are reallyawkward between us. Why don't we just forget last night ever happened. The bits that we remember."
AJ
"Deal," AJ shook his hand aburptly, "not that I remember anything anyway."
She stood up and turned to leave the room.
"You can stay and practice if you want..." she turned back, then left the room.
Noah
Noah shook his head. "Nah, I might a bit later."
Noah followed her from the room.
