Sabre and Logan
Sabre headed out into the night, knowing those at his back would be a help not a hindrance. He scented the air in contentment, then his eyes flashed. "Vampires, straight ahead. Group of eight. Stake to the heart, or decapitation, Wolverine."
"Yeah, yeah," Logan grumbled as the three advanced down the street.
"Hey, fangjobs!" Sabre called out. The vamipres turned slowly. "I be Sabre, and tonight, I'm sending you all to hell. How does that work for you?" The apparent leader of the group stepped forward, a big hulking man with greasy black hair.
"I think you've got some issues."
"I think you got problems. Logan, circle round and block off escape." Logan nodded at Sabre's cool command as his claws slid out.
"Hey, what the-" Logan reached the vampire and shoved the claws straight through his chest. The male vampire gaped at Logan for a moment, then Logan twisted and the heart was torn to shreds and the vamp dusted.
"Well, that works too," Sabre shrugged as Logan quirked an eyebrow at him. "Let's joing the fun, Faith." Sabre leapt into the fray.
Faith
"Hey boys, your lucky night. Get to die at the hands of a Slayer." Faith jumped into the fight and let her frustrations out on the vampires. One in particular seemed familiar, and seemed to annoy her more than any of the others.
"What the hell are you looking at, ugly?" Faith dodged his sloppy right hook and sent him flying with a powerful roundhouse kick.
"I know you, Slayer. You're the rogue one. I thought you were on our side." The vampire stood again.
"Never on your side. The only vampire I work with is Angel."
"Angelus. He's gone soft in his time."
Faith took the comment personally and jumped on top of the vampire, beating the hell out of him.
"Heard you went downhill after your boss died."
Faith screamed in anger and frustration, finally pulling her stake out and dusting him, before kicking another in the back who was creeping up on Logan.
"Sabre, duck!"
Faith punched the vampire behind Sabre as he ducked. She plunged her stake into his chest, almost laughing as she saw him dust.
Logan
Logan twisted around and tore out the throat of the vampire who Faith had kicked. Damn, but he'd missed this. The vamp gaped at him, and Logan swung his claws back around, finishing the decapitaion. Soon, all the vampires were dust and they walked on. They had barely broken a sweat.
Faith
Faith led the way down into a park when she heard something. She paused, looking left then right.
"Demons, over in the bushes. Five. I gotta tell ya, they're not vampires though." Faith whispered, but needn't have bothered because they heard her anyway, and five demons jumped out of their hiding spots, yelling something incomprehensible to Faith.
"Um, say what?"
They were huge and a sickly yellow colour, bigger than Faith, Sabre and Logan combined. Faith grinned, envisioning the fight ahead of them. They're four arms made things seem more difficult, especially with the spikes coming off their bodies, but Faith felt fairly confident that she, Sabre and Logan would be a match for any demon.
The demons again yelled something else, and one pulled a human out of the bush and ate him.
"You son of a - " Faith started before getting thrown against a fence and falling to the ground.
"Usually decapitation is the way to go with demons. All I have is this pathetic little knife. Any ideas Sabre?" Faith asked, climbing to her feet, brushing herself off and charging at one of the demons, carefully avoiding their spikes.
"On a bright side, they're goddamn slow!"
Sabre and Logan
"Just this ax, lovely," Sabre said cheefully as he got ready to swing. "Fore!" One of the demons' head went flying. The demon shuddered, collapsed, and then exploded.
"Aw, Christ," Logan said in disgust. "You know, I only have so many clothes with me."
"Nyx will buy you new ones," Sabre promised as the two guys whaled on one of the demons.
"I don't even want to *think* about what Nyx would try to dress me in." They split up and attacked a demon each.
Amanda
Amanda had been tracking the group of demons for a while, like she had been taught. She was preparing to pick them off one by one, when suddenly, she didn't have to. Watching the other Slayer and her new Scooby Gang kill all the demons, Amanda began to pout.
"Hey, I've been tracking those guys for almost two hours!" She sighed. "Well, at least they're dead. What's up? And who's the crazy guy with claws?"
Sabre and Logan
"Hey, Amanda," Sabre grinned, sweeping his sweaty hair off his forehead.
"Crazy guy with the claws?" Logan repeated disbelievingly.
"Well, you were kinda berserk back there," Sabre said consideringly.
"Ass."
"And I happen to have a great one," Sabre laughed. Logan glared.
"You are such a self absorbed selfish egotistical *dick*-"
"This is Logan, or Wolverine," Sabre cut off the mutant. "Meet Amanda, Logan."
Amanda
"Okay, so you're not a demon, and I don't think you're an alien, are you a mutant? Amanda asked, innocently. "I'm a vampire slayer, by the way. Like Faith."
Logan and Sabre
"Yeah," Logan growled, still glaring balefully at Sabre. "C'mon, I still wanna kill things." He stalked off into the night.
"You know, you really should let Nyx relieve some of that tension for you," Sabre called after the mutant. Logan just raised the finger in response, except he did it with a claw so it would be visible in the dark. "No, that's what you need to do!" Logan growled back and kept walking. Sabre shrugged and loped after him.
Amanda
Amanda watched the scene with interest. "God, he's like Spike with a bad attitude, and THAT'S saying something. So, Faith," AManda smiled, "What's this I hear about you and Leonardo DiCaprio?"
Faith
"Nah, Logan's alright. Well, I guess, coz I just met him tonight. He's on the same level, ya know?"
Faith grinned in the dark at Amanda's tact. "Leo and I are old friends, no more, no less. How's the slaying gig going? Enjoying it?"
Faith picked up her knife after dropping it in the fight and stepped over to Amanda's side. "Hold my arm." When Amanda did as she asked, she quickly cracked her disolcated shoulder back into place.
"We should probably go after them."
Amanda
"Let's just let 'em have their fun for now. We can handle ourselves, and trust me, nobody can hurt Sabre. Anyways, being a slayer is okay, I guess. Giles makes a good Watcher and all, it's just that, well, I wish Buffy were here. She made me feel safe." Amanda said. stuffing her stake in her back pocket.
Faith
"Giles was a good Watcher. I wish I hadn't screwed things up with that. But I would've had Wes anyway, and at that time, Wes and I wouldn't have worked."
Faith pulled out her stake and flipped it around before putting it away again. She led the way through the park.
"I know what you mean about B though. It's like... when she was alive, I didn't have to worry about the slaying, coz I knew she'd always cover it. But now, it's like, I have to take on her responsibilities."
Faith frowned, crinkling her face up in disgust. "Vampire. Over to the left. Only two."
Amanda
Amanda took the one on the right. Kicking him in the chest he fell back, but then he grabbed her foot and tried to knock her over. As he got up, Amanda landed a spinning kick in his sternum, swung around and staked him.
"I think I'm getting the hang of this," she said, looking at Faith.
Faith
Faith roundhouse kicked the second vampire and staked him quickly.
"Ahh, no muss, no fuss. You catch on pretty quick."
She paused for a second, thinking she'd heard something then continued on.
"Come on."
Sabre and Logan
Logan and Sabre meanwhile were actually bailed up by a pack of Hellhounds. "Aw, Jaysus Mary and Joseph," Sabre groaned in disbelief. "Of all the demons..."
"Uh, what are they?" Logan backed away slightly from the rabidly snarling huge black dog with red eyes and dagger-like teeth that was in front of him.
"Hellhounds."
"WHAT?!" Logan toned down his voice when one of them took a step forward. "What?!" He hissed furiously at Sabre.
"They musta picked up my scent or summat. Damn." Sabre shook his head and hefted the ax. "Well, they're not getting any less dead by us standing here, Wolverine." Sabre leapt into the fray and Logan followed, thanking whoever for his enhanced healing factor.
Faith
Faith heard Sabre and Logan and she ran off, leaving Amanda to follow her. As she rounded the corner she saw the Hellhounds.
"Come here puppy." She called as she jumped on top of one, wrestling it to the ground and finally breaking its neck.
"You alright Sabre? Logan?"
Sabre and Logan
"Fine, lovely!" Sabre gritted out as he took a Hellhound's head off its shoulders. "You're a bit late though."
"God, these things are strong," Logan complained as he sliced and diced one of them. "Why," STAB, "won't," SLICE, "you just," CUT, SLASH, "DIE?!" The Hellhound stood there dazedly as Logan tore it to bits.
Faith
"Well we ran into a few vamps. But we're here now, so quit whinging Sabre. Besides, Logan looks to be having a good time." Faith grinned as she flipped over the Hellound which had been ready to jump on her, and she landed on it's back. She stabbed it with her knife before struggling around for a few minutes and then breaking its neck.
"Hey Amanda, how you doing?"
Sabre and Logan
"She's right; this *is* fun," Logan said as he stood over the pile of body parts that had been a Hellhound, blood and other bodily fluids dripping from his claws. "Who's up for the next round?" He dove on one of the ones thatw as free, driving his claws deep into its body. It yelped and whined as it tried to get off the adamantium spikes. Logan jerked one hand free, then sliced its throat, spraying blood into the air.
Sabre, not to be outdone, quickly finished off the one he was struggling with. "It's relaxing, innit? Making something else hurt..."
Faith
"Tell me about it." Faith stood back, watching as they finished with their Hellhounds. "What next? We should check out the hospitals. Delivery day today."
Sabre and Logan
"Not me," Logan shrugged.
"As amazing as it sounds, I haven't actually been in Tulsa before. So, I can;t guide us there." Sabremade an apologetic gesture.
Amanda
"Oh! this is fun! I haven't killed evil dogs yet!" Amanda said. She grabbed her pack that she had stashed by a tree and pulled out an ax. "let's kill some evil pooches," she grinned at Faith.
"The hospital is about 6 blocks that way," Amanda pointed. "DOn't forget, I live here now, " she grinned. "For now, at least. Until my Watcher decides to take me off the Celveland." she sighed.
Sabre and Logan
"Cleveland?" Sabre looked at Amanda as they started off in the direction she had indicated. "It needs a Slayer."
"What's so special about Cleveland? It's a hole of a place," Logan said as he got a cigar out of his pocket and lit it before clamping it bewteen his teeth.
"You know, with you smoking that, all the demons are gonna run the other way?" Sabre sighed. Logan just blew a stream of smoke at him, and Sabre coughed in disgust. "Cleveland has a little mouth of hell beneath it."
"That would explain the general depressing air of the place," Logan quipped.
Faith
Faith turned to Amanda. "How is Giles doing? Tell him I might come drop in on him soon. No doubt, he'll be thrilled to bits." Faith rolled her eyes.
"Well, let's go to the hospital then. Lead the way, Amanda."
Faith waited patiently for Amanda, and followed behind, walking with Sabre.
Amanda
"I thikn Giles has forgiven you for everything, Faith, I think he understands you. He's killed before, from what I understand. According to rumours, Ben died at his hand," she looked at Sabre, knowing he'd fill them in on who Ben was.
Faith
"Oh I did hear about that from Willow." Faith closed her eyes. "Seems most of us have been killing people. Although Giles's reason was probably more justified than mine."
Sabre and Logan
"The Watcher killed someone?" Sabre said in disbelief, then he grinned. "Oh yeah. I think he could. I remember Ripper."
"Ripper?" Logan looked at the cat, puzzlement showing on his face.
"He's tweed guy now, but he used to play with chaos. That's what he was called back then. I don't think he recognised me, and it took a while for me to realise that he *was* Ripper. I looked a bit differnt then." Sabre's features shifted slightly and his skin darkened to a weatherbeaten tan, not making much of a change but enough to distance himself from who he had been. Enough to become unregonisable. "Didn't say anything to him, o'course. Priss has placed a claim on him, and she likes this version better then she would have liked Ripper, I think. Not that me and Ripper atually talked much. More or less knew him by reptation and met him at a few parties."
Faith
Faith smiled. "Giles is ok."
She looked around. "Hey hospital. I think there's a van coming. Get ready guys."
Sabre and Logan
Sabre shook his hair and he shifted back to his face of the moment. "I'm gonna go cat. 'Scuse me for a second." He disapeared into the darknees and shifted, leaving his clothes piled in a neat heap under some bushes. He loped back out, deciding to go a bit bigger then he usually did, more leopard size then house cat size. With the teeth and claws to go with. Logan's eyes widened for a moment, and then he turned to the Slayers.
"What are we waiting for anyway?"
Amanda
"Yeah, apparently, he and some Ethan guy used to all about the smooching," Amanda said, grimacing. "And now he's dead, and Priss brought Mr. Giles a message from him, and then Giles cried all over her." Suddenly Amanda looked around. "Though I probably wasn't supposed to say any of this, especially since I'm not even supposed to know, but Vi & Rona talk too much.
Logan
Logan made a grimace of distaste and decided to stay far away from whoever this Giles guy was. Sabre had slipped off into the bushes to 'shift'. And what was that kid's name? Vortigern. Staying the hell away from him too. Yeah, Logan knew the flirting had only been in effort to keep Logan from whupping his twin's ass for sitting with Nyx on his lap, and then trying to fight Nyx for doing it in the first place...Logan growled under his breath.
Faith
Faith grinned and waited for the guys to get out of the van. She spotted three vampires coming for the box that was being unloaded and she dived at them, tackling one away.
"Amanda, heads up!" She called as she saw more approaching.
She quickly staked the vampire and moved onto the next, hovering next to the boxes.
Logan
"Obviously that," Logan mumured and then shook his head, leaping on one of them and slicing it to bits. Sabre had the other one down on the ground, generally playing with it...like a cat with a mouse. And then more appeared. "Heads up!"
Amanda
Amanda saw a couple vamps pretending to be doctors try to snatch a cooler of blood. "Come and get it, buddy boy!" she said, as she landed a side kick on one's chest and staked him, then took her axe and beheaded the other.
"I learned so much from the Bringers," She said, giggling.
Logan
"Bringers? Sounds like there's a story there." Logan raised an eyebrow, then reached out with his claws to snare a vampire by the back of it's white coat. Pretending to be doctors? Good plan...for the idiots vampires seemed to be generally. "Going somewhere, bub?" He grinned nastily before decapitating it. He shook his head as the dust flaoted for a moment. "Guess not."
Faith
Faith got kicked against a tree in the parking lot and recovering quickly, she jumped up, wincing in pain but choosing to ignore it. She charged back against the vampires and lifted the boxes of blood away.
"Amanda, catch!" Faith tossed the box carefully to Amanda and began to fight the surrounding vampires.
Sabre
Sabre coughed in disgust as vamp dust filled his mouth. Ergh. He was going for a Guinness after this, make no mistake about it. He pounced on another one, using his velvet padded paws that encolsed shining daggers of claw instead of his mouth.
Amanda
Amanda grabbed the coolers of blood and took them inside, making sure they made it to their destination. When she came back, the vamps were all dust.
"Okay, anybody else hungry?"
Faith
"Yeah, I could go some ribs. And a roll in the sack. Isn't it funny how slaying makes you wicked hungry and horny?" Faith asked, ignoring the stares she was receiving.
"So let's get some food. Manda, lead the way, Tulsa girl."
Sabre
Sabre snickered and moved up to Faith's side. Logan rolled his eyes and walked on after Amanda. "Oh, aye, lovely. I know what ye mean." He let his arm brush hers and grinned wickedly.
Faith
"If your up for it, I'll take you for a go." Faith grinned cheekily and skipped ahead, catching up to Amanda.
"You starting to enjoy patrolling? Sometimes it can be a bit of a drag..."
Sabre
Sabre chuckled deep in his throat and shook his head. Oh, but she was fun to play with. "Anytime, lovely, anytime!" He called after her. Logan gave him a look, and Sabre shrugged. "What?" Logan just shook his head. "Look, there's nothing she can give me, and nothing I can give her. We're adults, so it's none of your business." Sabre grinned at Logan and loped off after the Slayers.
Amanda
"There's a Denny's down the street, 24-hr pancakes, plus they've got just about everything, anybody else up to it?"
