5 March 2003 - Rescue ops.

Bastet's children and Mouse

Nyx and Priss sat in the middle of the Hanson's living room, maps and atlases spread out around them. Nyx put her hand on a globe and spun it, dangling a crystal above it as the scent of incense filled the room from a small brazier. "Hecate, hear my plea. Guide me to find the ones who are lost. Element of Air, guide me. Element of Water, show me. Element of Earth, find them. Element of Fire, stregthen me." A shirt of Taylor's and one of Avie's books sat in front of her.

Similair items were laid out in front of Priss as winds flickered the pages of the atlas in front of her, her eyes glowing white as lightening played through her hair. "Powers That Be, heed thy servant's plea. Guide my magick. Show me the ones taken from us. Show where they be hid."

"Something's hiding them. Damn it, I didn't think they'd know about magick, but something's definitly blocking me." Nyx's crystal plinked against America, and she turned to the maps to narrow it down. "This is taking forever."

"I feel the same. A wall, a veil laid across our eyes. It is not strong enough to stop my glimpses though. They are well, though Taylor be wounded and they still be travelling." The book in front of Priss floated to the side and another laid down in front of her. Its pages started to turn.

Mouse crept in, black shadows lying under her eyes. "I sent the word out, but not one animal's had a sniff of them. If they were travelling by ground, I would have had some word." She curled up by Priss's side and the cat ran a soothing hand through the empath's hair.

"We'll find them, sweetling. Any magick they have wilt be no match for us twain."

"You bet, Mouse. And all this delay is just making me angrier."

Sabre leant against the doorframe. "Need anything new?"

"Zxorsa horn," Nyx said, eyes concentrating on her crystal as it swung back and forth.

"As ye say then." Sabre looked a bit worried; that was strong stuff. "C'mon, Logan. I'll have to rough a dealer up for that particular ingredient." Logan uncoiled himself from the couch and left. The two female cats concentrated on their spells while Mouse watched and worried.

Faith

Faith thanked Paige and watched as she orbed away. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door, taken aback when someone answered straight away.

"Oh sorry, didn't mean to scare you, I thought you might be someone else." The woman at the door looked worried.

"Hi, I'm Faith. Ok, I don't know if this is going to sound strange, but I'm going to jump right into it. I'm friends with the Halliwells, and this morning, Phoebe had a premonition that something wasn't right over here, and that Priss and Nyx were here, so I thought if you needed some help..."

"Oh Faith, yes, I've heard of you. I'm Diana Hanson. Please come in." Diana stepped away from the door, allowing Faith to enter.

"I don't know if I can help a lot, but I'm not bad at tracking people, and if it comes to it, I can fight."

"I hope it won't come to that. I appreciate you coming to help. Here, Priss and Nyx are in here."

Diana led Faith to Priss and Nyx and let her inside.

"Thank you again."

"I hope I can help."

Diana smiled and left, and Faith took another deep breath and made her presence known.

"Hi guys. Thought I might see if I could help."

Mouse, Priss and Nyx

"You can help us maim the people responsible afterwards," Nyx said cheerfully. Priss glared at her. "Joking! Joking, geez..." Nyx muttered and the crystal flared. "Oh, lookey here. I get a big force field around here when I try to look for Taylor and Avery. What will you bet they're hidden under it?"

Mouse leant over and studied the map Nyx displayed. "Canada?"

"Canada...well, that helps..." Priss mused as she dumped about five mapbooks to the side and dragged up a Canadian one.

"Narrows it down some, yeah." Nyx's eyes flared emerald light, and then she fell forward gasping. "Oh, yeah, that is gonna *burn* the witch holding that up. I kick ASS!"

Mouse giggled. "Glad to hear it. So, the plan is when we get there, we tear the place apart?"

"More or less." Nyx shrugged and cracked her back. "Wanna come with, Faithie, if it won't hurt your redemption none?"

Faith

"Ahh part of the redemption gig is hurting the bad guys. I think this is a situation with good guys and bad guys. Just... stop me if I get close to killing a human."

Faith kneeled down onto the ground next to Priss and stretched her arms.

"What's the first move?"

Bastet's children and Mouse

"The first move in this game is to start picking apart their shield, while making it continue to show them that it's fully operational. It's like hacking. You don't want them to know you're in, until you're all the way in." Nyx crossed her legs and closed her eyes.

"You'll find them, right?"

"Sweetling, we'll bring them back." Priss smiled at the anxious Mouse. "I have never been one to make promises I could not keep."

"That's good to hear," Mouse whispered, hugging her knees to her chest. Sabre walked in, arms taken up with brown paper bags.

"Got that thing ye wanted, Nyx. And some things t' eat." Sabre put them down on a table, then looked up to see Faith. His mouth spread in a wide grin, and he rushed over to hug her. "Faith! How ye been, lovely?"

Willow

Using her newfound power, Willow sent herself to the Hansons house.

"Can I be of any help?" she asked Nyx and Priss, "Locator spells are my specialty."

Nyx and Priss

"Grab a map and go for it," Nyx said, a look of relief on her face. "Or whatever rocks your boat. I tried to jump there, but that kinda didn't work, and I almost split myself in two. Embarrassing, that's what it was."

"They have some very strong magick users with them, and the fact that we art trying to hide our progress makes it more difficult."

"So, the answer is yes. We want to find them, and we'll take any help that's going. If we don't find them in the next few days, I'm seriously considering calling Mom in."

"That could harm the kits," Priss said with a frown.

"Not if she just gives us a boost." Nyx shrugged off her sister's concern.

"We think they're in Canada," Priss informed Willow as she settled back to her searching.

Faith

"Five by five. Yourself?" Faith let herself be enveloped by Sabre's hug.

Faith pulled out of Sabre's hug and moved to hug Mouse. "We'll find them, I promise Mouse, we'll find them, and then we'll kick their asses. They're in for a lot of pain if they harm a single hair on either of their heads."

"Are we close yet, Nyx?"

Nyx, Sabre and Mouse

"Soon, I think. They have a lot of different spells, and some big power backing them." Nyx frowned. "Something more powerful then I would have thoiught this guy would have been able to get hold of."

"We'll find them, we will," Mouse said softly.

"And then we do the vengeance thing!" Nyx laughed.

"And that *will* be fun," Sabre drawled.

Faith

Faith screwed her face up in frustration. "What about scrying? I know that's generally a witch thing, and they're not witches, but isn't there some sort of alien version for it?"

Bastet's children

"We do our thingm they do their thing, Mouse waits to hear from her netwrok, and we all get there in the end. I'm betting that we come through with the goods first though," Nyx said with a sly grin. Priss laughed.

"The more people looking the better. Many eyes can see what one pair may not. And as we all look in different ways, it just increases our chances. And after, if they get away? We wilt not stop. This dost not stop if he leaves them behind when he flees."

"He has the children of Bastet on his tail now," Sabre growled. "Wherever he goes."

"Wherever he hides."

"Whoever he tries to use," Nyx said, eyes gleaming.

"We'll catch up, and when we do..." Sabre trailed away suggestively.

Willow

Willow took a deep breath. "I won't kill again, I can't. Not human, mutant or alien. Demons are one thing, but somebody who has the possibility of reddeming themselves, I. . I. . I just cant do it. I won't. I've been to close to the dark."

Faith

Faith walked over to Willow and lay her hand onto her shoulder.

"Red, no one is asking you to kill again. And if you get close, I'll be there to stop you. As long as you can promise the same thing for me. I've been into that darkness, and I won't let you go there."

Faith took a deep breath. "I'm gonna try and be all motivational here. We'll find them. We find them, and beat the *hell* out of the people who have them. Then we'll get Taylor and Avery back home. And once we've done that, we'll party."

Willow

Willow gave Faith a hug. "We came, we saw, we aren't going back, right Faith? Okay, and we also need to find this dreamwalker, but if anybody find him, Owen is his name, don't kill him. If we kill him, we may never get Jess & Isabel back. And I really don't want to explain to Max at the next Council meeting that I lost his sister's consciousness, do you guys?"

Bastet's children and Mouse

"And me and Nyx will just do our thing, but out of deference to you lovely ladies, we'll keep the bloodshed to a minimum." Sabre half bowed, then straightened up, eyes glinting. "But if they've harmed one hair on either of their heads, it's safe to say all bets will come off."

"The Spider's mine," Mouse said, standing up. "I have a debt to settle with him. Two, now." Fafnir snarled in a bloodcurdling way.

"We can just rough him up a bit, and then you can have him to play with, ok, lovely?" Sabre asked.

"As long as my wolf gets to hunt him a bit. Telepaths don't see animals the way they do people." Mouse had a rather terrufying smile on her face for such a normally sweet girl. "Me neither. I'll be able to hold up if he's free for long enough. Just those few minutes."

"No killing," Priss interjected.

"Why?" Mouse seemed surprised.

"Becasue there is always a chance for redemption." Mouse's shoulders slunped somewhat. "But that does not mean we cannot make them pay." She brightened again.

Faith

"She's right. There is always a chance for redemption. I mean it's fine to say Will and Faith can be redeemed, different circumstances right? Well not everything is black and white, there are shades of grey and if there's even a chance that these people can be redeemed, it should be taken. Because theres nothing worse than giving up." Faith shrugged. "I'll step off my soapbox now."

Bastet's children

"Soapboxes are all well and good in their place, lovely," Sabre said softly.

"But you're preaching to the never will be converted," Nyx said with a laugh. "Priss is the good girl, not us."

"I have done things in my time that I regret," Priss said. "What one must do is see what thou art now, and acknowledge that thee would never have become who thou art, without who thou were."

Faith

Faith sighed. "I was just saying... anyone up for a patrol or a spar later? I need a good sweat session. Speaking of training, when am I getting Xander as a Watcher?"

Bastet's children and Logan

Nyx's nose wrinkled at the mention of Watchers. "Ick, Watchers..."

Priss ignored her sister and turned to answer Faith. "Soon, I think. Rupert be training him. We shall soon have another Council in place." Nyx snorted.

"And that's supposed to be a good thing how?"

"Do not pay attention to Nyx. She does not hold the Council in high esteem. But this time, I wilt ensure they go down the path they were meant to." Priss nodded firmly.

"Good to hear, lovely." Sabre grinned. "We can patrol in a bit, if you want Faith. I'm only wasting time here. And Wolverine can come with."

"Hmm?" Logan looked up from where he'd been leaning against the wall. "What?"

"Wanna come and kill things?"

"You kidding? When do we leave? All this waiting is shredding my nerves to hell."

Faith

"I don't think we officially met. I'm Faith, by the way." Faith gave a little salute to Logan in way of greeting. She pulled a stake from her back pocket.

"Ah, a girl always has to be prepared." She remarked, noting the confused look on Logan's face.

"Come on Sabre, it's been awhile since we fought along side each other."

Sabre, Logan and Nyx

Sabre grabbed a couple of stakes from the table and slid them into the hidden pockets of his jacket. He tossed one to Logan, wjo just gave him this look that said 'you have got to be kidding me'. "Vampires."

"Ah. You said decapitation works, right?"

"Yeah. Why?" Sabre raised an eyebrow. Logan grinned and let his claws slide out. He looked the foot long lengths of shining adamantium over.

"I think I can take the head off a vampire with these."

"Stake."

"Fine." Logan stuffed the stake into the back of his jeans and headed towards the door, letting his claws slid back in. "We going now?"

"Sure. C'mon Faith." Sabre started walking.

"Have fun, Sabby, sweetie, sexy," Nyx called after them. The guys raised a hand to show they heard. "Come back in one piece."

Faith

Faith followed Sabre out the door, Logan following behind her. She flipped the stake back into her pocket and stretched her arms out when they left the house. She relished the cool night air, feeling alive, ready for more fighting.

Mouse and Priss

Mouse curled up in her now usual spot between Priss and Nyx, one arm wrapped around her wolf. With a whispered spell, Nyx sent the empath off to sleep, blocking the overload that was coming at her from the people in the house, and then got back to the task of finding Taylor and Avery.

"She be fading fast. We best find them soon," Priss whispered.

"You said it." The cats bent back to the work at hand with a will.
