Grant
Grant stood nervously outside the room for the sonics contest. He knew hadn't really had time to plan what he was going to do or even practice - he just didn't want to hurt anyone in the process.
He'd met up with Ike and that earlier, and they'd wished him good luck. It wasn't that easy going up against younger girls...
Especially teenyboppers with sonics. He shuddered at the thought.
They were ready to begin.
The first contestant was a woman. She must have been about 40 or something. The sound she let rip wasn't anything Grant hadn't heard before. He could easily do better than that. Maybe that's why they put her first.
Next was an older guy. Ok, that was something Grant wouldn't forget in a while. It almost broke the sound-proof barrier.
Third was a younger girl. Grant thought she'd easily get louder than the old man, but she ended up pulling out at the last moment with a sore throat. Yes!
Then there was a fifteen year old guy having a go... let's just say he had a lot to learn. Then it was Grant's turn.
The woman called him over to the booth and instructed him on what to do. He smiled and nodded at her, before going inside and closing the door behind him. Grabbing the earphones, he placed them over his head, and waited for his cue.
It came. This was a time Grant spent a lot of energy waiting for... finally he could let loose and not worry that he was hurting anyone. This was his time to finally make a sound, talk, scream, anything he could. And he could do it as loud as he wanted. So he let rip.
When it was over, he saw the people outside through a small window in the wall. They were clapping, with approving looks on their faces.
Finally, he took the phones off and headed outside again.
"That was some job there, young man," said the older man.
'Thanks,' he mouthed, taking a deep breath.
Isaac, Zac and Miette
"Dude! That was awesome!" Isaac exclaimed.
"Defintely," Zac agreed. "Our fans have nothing on you."
"And thank goodness for that?" Miette suggested with a smile.
"Yeah, exactly," Zac laughed.
"I'm telling you dude, if you don't win, I, I'm going to demand a recount," Isaac joked.
Grant
Grant only shook his had in amusement, then eyed off one of the stalls nearby.
He rolled his eyes at Isaac, before mouthing 'thanks' to them all, and then going to check out the stall.
