Dawn and Clark
After the Aerobatics competition, Dawn & Clark headed to the Creation Masters room, to start on their projects. Jess's was already started, but she'd gone off to start on her Dreamwalking comp. Taking some raw materials from the provided pile, Clark began his sculpture. Dawn however, had other ideas. She took a small glass vial out of her pocjet, and brought it to one of the judges, to iverify she hadn't been cheating. The only thing in there was some hydrochloric acid, and sage. Taking a small knife, she cut her finger and squeezed the blood into the vial. Then she added a drop of her saliva and shook it up. Then she set it aside. Spike was watching her.
"What are you up to, Nibblet? I don't like the looks of this."
"The only rule for this contest is to create something with your powers. Where does my power lie?"
"In your blood." As he answered, he got it. He rememberd Doc's bloodetting and the aftereffect. He also remembered one of the little things that had brought Dawn happiness during that dark time.
Meanwhile, Clark was taking pieces of metal and using his heat vision to melt them & weld them and shape the. It roughly looked like a person.
Miette, Zac and Isaac
The judges came to Miette.
"Miette Braddock?" asked Lelia, checking her clipboard.
"Yes."
"Please begin."
Miette nodded and pressed 'play' on her CD player, then stood up straight, and clasped her hands together. The CD (which she had burned herself) was silent for a moment while she set the scene: a woman seemed to appear out of thin air. She was in a sitting position and was wearing a brightly coloured, flowing dress. There was a gentleman standing nearby in a fix black and white tuxedo. The music began - a waltz - and the gentleman walked over to the lady and held out his hand. The lady accepted and the two began to dance.
"What is... how... how she doing that? That's not atom manipulation..." Zac whispered to Isaac.
"Certainly not!" Isaac agreed quietly, also somewhat curious. "Oooh! Wait... she has light!"
"Umm, duh..."
"They're holograms!"
"Holograms? I had no idea we could make holograms. You know, other than those ones humans make and stick in science and technology entres and stuff."
"Neither did I."
Isaac and Zac were not the only ones talking in low whispers. The holographic man and woman danced together in perfect time with the music. They looked so very real.
The music ended, and the dancers bows and curtsied to each other, before vanishing. Miette closed her eyes for a moment, took a deep breath and opened them again as people applauded. She couldn't help but smile.
The judges gave nothing away, simply wrote something in their clipboards and moved on to the next exhibit.
"Mi! That was awesome!" Isaac said.
"Thanks," she replied, all smiles.
There was quiet chatter from different ones as they followed the judges. Then Miette felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned and saw a man, easily in his fifties.
"Excuse me miss," he said. "My name is Roger. I'm a light manipulator, as you are, I believe?"
"Yes..."
"I'd like to know how you did those holograms. We, in the YIRAAS Light Club, have been trying to produce holograms of that cablire for years. Since I was younger than you even. The best we've been able to come up with are a mere shadow of what we saw from you today, and only barely better than human ones."
"Really?" she asked, somewhat surprised. "I've been able to do them since I was eight or something."
Roger stared.
"Eight?"
Miette nodded.
"Yeah, I was one of those kids who had a imaginary friend. Except, I suppose, I have an especially vivid imagination, and well..." she trailed off briefly. "It was fun, actually being able to 'see' my friend."
Roger opened his mouth, then closed it, then opened it again and handed her his card.
"Please, call me some time. I'm the president of the Light Club. Now obviously isn't a good time to talk about this, but I'd really appreciate it if we could talk later."
"Sure."
"You've an accent?"
"I'm British."
"Ahh... holiday?"
"Yes."
"Then perhaps we could meet up before you leave?"
"Sure, I'll see what I can do."
"Great. It's been a pleasure meeting you."
"Likewise."
Clark
Clark gulped as he saw MIette's enry, he knew he would never win, but still, this was something he had worked hard on. He took his sculpture, which was covered by a sheet, and set it on the table in front of him.
"This is a sculpture I made out of steel, using my heat vision. I also bent some ov the edges with my strength, but I mainly welded it together," Clark explained as he pulledf off the sheet to reveal a steel stature of Dawn. It was obvious that he had become quite infatuated with him, and she could hardly hold her delight when she had seen what he had made.
Jessica
Jessica's entry was a Christmas tree of sorts, only it was purple, and instead of ornaments, it was surrounded by swirling, dancing, dream orbs.. What was especially unique, was that the Angel on top of the tree was a sort of mirror whose face changed to that of whomever was looking at her.
Dawn
Dawn was the last contestant for the Creation Masters. This meant even mopre to her now, after Buffy died, because when she first learned she could make these, was right after Buffy died, two years ago, when she jumped off the platform, in Dawn's place. Pulling the sheet off, Dawn revealed what she had made.
It appeared to be some sort of moss, only is was multi-coloured, like a pastel rainbow. At first glance, it looked as if the wind was blowing against it, but then the judges realized that it was alive, it was moving on it's own. Dawn had conjured a mossy creature from another dimension, and manipulated it so that it looked like three women, Dawn, Buffy, and Joyce Summers. Spike felt the tears come to his eyes when he saw it, it was so beautiful. The three women began to embrace, and then held hands and started dancing around in a circle. Dawn felt her own eyes water as she remembered the day she had based this on.
"Thank you very much," Dawn said trying not to cry, and left the stage.
