Isaac and Zac
"I can't believe you manage to get us on first," Zac said to Isaac.
Isaac grinned.
"I have my ways."
"I'm scared."
"So you should be."
At the signal from the ref, the two Hansons got in the ring. They gave each other mock glares.
The bell rang.
Zac immediately lashed out with his temperature and heated the very floor Isaac was standing on.
"Ouch, ouch!" he yelped, dancing from one foot to another.
Zac gloated. Then Isaac lifted Zac up in the air, and hung him over the side.
"You've been a very naughty boy," he teased.
Isaac was just creating something with his atom manipulation he could hit Zac with, when his brother swung himself back into the ring and started freezing the floor beneath Isaac's feet. They started to stick.
"Hey! I can't move!"
"Sucker!"
Zac noticed that Isaac had been in the process of creating something, so he decided to add his own energies. Soon, it became a tug of war over who could control the, erm, whatever it was supposed to be. Naturally, Isaac, being telekinetic, won, and was soon hitting Zac over the head with... it. Although this did a good job of distracting Zac, it couldn't thaw the floor, and so Isaac's feet were getting colder, and colder. Blue even.
So, it seemed rather a stalemate. Isaac was getting frostbite and Zac was getting concussion. Something had to give. Even the littlest thing could turn the scales in the favour of one, leading them to victory.
You would have thought that will all the head banging that was going on (amongst other places), Zac wouldn't have been able to concentrate. But Zac had something quite valuable to him that prevented this. Experience. What? You don't think the Hanson bros have been beating each other up for years?
Zac started to drop the temperature at Isaac's feet. As expected Isaac moved his feet in an effort to get the blood flowing, not realising one thing: condesation. The floor was now wet. All it took was one falso move, and Isaac was flat on his back, the wind knocked out of him, and he lost control of the bat thing he had been using to hit Zac with. Zac grabbed the bat, stepped over Isaac so that one leg was on either side and brought the bat down two inches away from Isaac's head.
"We have a winner!" The ref called, and there was cheering.
"Do, I, or do I not rock?" Zac said smugly, helping Isaac up.
"Only when you're on the drums."
Isaac and Miette
"Oooh, this should be good," Miette overhead someone say. "Two telekinetics on next in ring two."
"Really? Awesome. We have to watch that."
Miette followed them to the ring. Isaac had been doing challenges all morning, but she had just come back from the speed flying event. Sure enough, there he was, grinning away and telling stupid jokes. Miette glanced at his competitor, an older woman, easily in her late thirties. Someone had told her somewhere along the line that telekinesis was on the uncommon side. She wondered just how many people at the tournament had it.
The bell rang. Isaac and the woman (who's name was Mary Sue) faced each other. They reached out with their minds towards each other. Isaac lifted Mary Sue into the air and she did the same to him, and they started pushing each other around. The same time they were both trying to break free or at least loosen the other's hold on them.
Miette was this strange game of tug of war with fascination. Both were trying new moves but at the same time countering the other's.
Miette and Isaac
Mary Sue was older and more experienced than Isaac. Something that gave her a definite advantage, as was noted when Isaac found himself been pressed face down to the floor.
Everyone watched eagerly. Would Mary Sue win? Or would Isaac get up?
Isaac gave a loud gasp. he couldn't pick himself up (mentally or physicall) but he could squash Mary Sue to the floor too. And he took one of the ropes that made up the ring barrier and used it to tie her hands together - being soft it would hurt her, and in any case there were Healer on duty so she sould be okay anyway.
Mary Sue attemped to counter, but didn't see the rope unti it was too late. She struggled, mentally and physically, but for all her experience, Isaac was too clever for her, mentally dancing the rope out of her grip. Despite how much more power she had over Isaac, her efforts to pit her mental strength against Isaac's mental agility only resulted in her being exhausted.
Miette hardly dared to breathe. Both were on the ground. Isaac's body was hardly moving, but the rope - now being joined by a second - practically danced in the air. Mary Sue was struggling as best she could.
At last Mary Sue ceased her stuggles. A few seconds later the ref announced Isaac was the winner and both groggily got up.
"Nice game," he said to Mary Sue.
Mary Sue could only smile, and the two left the ring.
"That was marvellous!" Miette said to Isaac.
"Why thank you," he grinned. "But I have to admit, for a while there I thought I was a gonner. The problem with uncommon powers oevr common powers is that it's makes it rather difficult finding people who are at the same level as you. And telekinesis isn't even on the 'most rare' power list."
"How many rare powers are there?"
"Heaps," and Isaac's grin grew bigger. "But you hardly ever meet people with them."
Rachel
At around noon, Rachel Evans was waiting for Zac to join her in the righ. SHe had said she would challenge him, and she did.
Zac
Zac sauntered over to Rachel.
"So, ready to get squashed?" he asked casually.
Rachel
"Only if you're ready to end up in my tummy, and not in a sexy way!" she growled and grinned at the same time. Excited, they were called up to the ring, and before. And when the buzzer sounded, Rachel was ready for him. The first thing she did was kick his legs out from under him, and then morph into a lion and pounced on him.
While Zac was under her, she morphed into an elephant, and hept him pinned.
Zac
Zac decided to give her an atomic shock. Using his atom manipulation, he dragged off some negative electrons and then touched her underbelly - the shock caused Rachel to jump just enough so that Zac could slip out from underneath. Then, before she had time to react, he lowered the tempurature of the floor so that her feet stuck.
Rachel
Realizing that Zac had suddenly made it reallly cold, she morphed into a polar bear and as soon as her feet loosened, she tackled him again, this time biting his leg. When he was distracted, she morphed into a hork-bajir and decided to scrape him up a bit.
"Don't worry, Zac, I won't kill you, they might frown on that, but I will beat you into a bloody pulp," she grinned, slicing him with the bark-cutting blades on her elbows.
Zac
"Killing," Zac said with a small grin, "is against the only rule in this little game. So yeah, I think they would frown on that. But since you wanna play dirty..."
Still grinning he heated it up. He heated it up so much that the temperature started leaking out of the ring and affecting the spectators, making even them sweat and fan themselves. Zac, himself, stood the temperature just fine, with a smirk on his face. Rachel should be about melting now, even if she was a hork-bajir.
Rachel
With that, she morphed into herself, and then into a rattle-snake, which was prepared to live in the desert. shaking her tail she tried to strie at him
*let's see, bite him or don't bite him? The venom will knock you unconscious, but it won't kill, it should only kill if you're left alone for a couple of hours. So, I'll go with BIT!* she cried out in thought-speak, striking his leg and biting through his pants.
Zac
Zac laughed.
"It's a little hard to piece my skin when it's frozen. Oh and speaking of frozen, I think I'll lower your temperature until your turn into a nice little statue. Think of it as... what do they call it when they freeze your body to preserve it? Cyrogenics or something? I forget. But I think I'll do it to you!"
Eyes glittering, he froze Rachel, stopping the unfathomable heat at the same time.
