27 February 2003 - Contacts in Miami

Barry and Robin

"Hey Barry!" Robin called, hanging up the phone.

"Yes Robin?" he replied in his thick English accent.

"Mum just got a call from Mow. Says he and Andy are having a great time."

"Good for them."

Robin rolled his eyes and put the phone down on the hotel coffee table.

Barry was in the bathroom, washing his face. Eventually, he dried it with a towel, and sighed before leaving the bathroom.

He spotted Robin leaning against a wall, the TV remote in his hand.

"Well?"

"Well what?"

"Well was there anything else?" Barry frowned, not willing to get into another arguement.

Robin shrugged.

"Only that your wife misses you. Mow's family might be joining him soon, but I doubt it'll happen. He'll be beack within a few months, you'll see."

"Yeah? Well he can't fake his own death twice."

Robin raised his eyebrows.

"Tell him that. He'll probably just plan to have a makeover rather than stay invisible."

"Typical Mow." Barry shook his head.

He looked around the room.

"Where's my Red?"

"I put it away. I don't think the other hotel occupants would appreciate having their sleep disturbed at this time of night."

Barry checked his watch.

"Well would you look at tha'? Getting a bit late 'aint it?"

Robin nodded.

"And back to the studio tomorrow."

"It feels so strange without having Mow with us," Barry shook his head sadly.

Robin shrugged.

"Well it was his choice to abandon us. He knew he couldn't abandon us without abandoning his music..."

"Well he's doing pretty well on Saturn the way I hear it."

"That's only because some fans found out through a telepath and followed him there," Robin shook his head, "they've corrupted Saturn's population, and Andy's getting in on it too."

"Typical Andy. Follows anyone's lead. I hate to remember what he did to his wife, her being human an' all. Doesn't even know the kid's a hybrid."

"He thought it for the best. And quite frankly I don't think it matters, cos he doesn't have any powers."

"But what if he did?" Barry raised his eyebrows, pointing his finger accusingly, "what if the kid's kids have powers? No one's gonna know unless we jump in, then she'll find out he abandoned her anyway."

"Good riddance. If our nephew has powers Andy'll get what he well deserves."

Barry just shook his head.

Going to leave the room, Barry accidentally pushed past Robin. In a flash, he was somewhere else.

"Oh... gosh..." he held his head, not having a premonition for a long time.

"GET OFF ME!" he heard a yell.

As his head snapped up, he saw young blonde lad pushing a punk out of his way.

"What's your problem?!" the punk retaliated.

Then he stopped and stared at the person he'd run into.

Barry immediately checked out his surroundings. He definately wasn't in Miami anymore. More like... what was it called again? Somewhere in Oklahoma...

"Oh my God," the punk caught his attention again.

"What are you staring at?" the blonde demanded with a frown.

"You... you again. Look, sorry about the crash, ok? You don't have to bite my head off..."

"What crash?"

Barry frowned in confusion, watching the two confuse each other.

"The crash... you know."

Then the punk frowned.

"Taylor?" he asked.

The blonde snorted.

"I'm not Taylor Hanson man, forget it."

With that, he waved him off and began down the street. Barry watched the punk stare after him, daydreaming.

'He's the one you're looking for...' he thought as the punk looked up.

"WAIT!" the punk cried, running after him.

And then Barry was on the ground.

"Barry? Hey! Barry?" Robin was shaking him.

Barry shook his head and sat up slowly, holding it.

"I.. I..."

"Another one?"

"Yeah."

"Wow. When was the last one?"

"Just before Mow left, last month."

Robin rolled his eyes, and pulled his brother from the floor.

"So, what was it this time?"

Barry scratched his chin, regarding the floor with interest.

"I think... when we're finished with the recording in the next few days, that we'd beter head for Tulsa," he looked up.
