27 February 2003 - A New Life In Tulsa

Christina and Madison

Christina Rhodes was sick of running. She was sick of never settling in one place, never getting close to anyone because she'd just move again. It wasn't her fault that they kept moving. Well, it was partially. She travelled with her cousin, and they had gotten into some fights.

Chris dropped her stuff into the dingy hotel room and headed for the window to look out at what would be her new home. For awhile, anyway. As she looked at the depressing view from her window, she felt tears well up in her eyes, tears of resentment and of loss. She missed her family, even after all this time.

Her cousin, Madison, stepped into the room with her bag.

"It won't be too bad, we'll make the best of it, we always do."

"I just don't want to keep running."

"Why don't we stay here, make a fresh start here?" Madison put her stuff down and went to her cousin at the window.

"I'd like that."

"So are we going to go to the Hanson concert tomorrow?"

"Why not. We got tix. For free too. And it might be a good chance to meet people."

"We should look into jobs too."

"We could start with that P3 place. I think I saw some signs up there."
