23 February 2003 - Hanging out at P3

Piper, Phoebe and Paige

Piper glanced over to where her sisters were sitting down in the back of her club, P3. She returned her attention to the broken glass she was cleaning up. When she had finished, she managed to break through the mass of dancing people and made her way to her sisters.

"Hey guys." Piper collapsed down next to Phoebe, resting her head on her sister's shoulder. "What band should we try to book for tomorrow night?"

"Ohhhh let's not think about that right now... let's just enjoy tonight." Phoebe reached for her drink while Paige turned and focused on the dancing couples.

"See, that's what I want... I'm gonna go dance. Anyone wanna join me?" Paige stood up.

"No thanks, I am dead on my feet." Piper closed her eyes and relaxed in the chair.

"Not right now sweetie."

Paige shrugged and danced over to a bunch of guys, managing to get herself surrounded by them.

"So sis, tell me, are you really ok with Ashley having his party here?"

"Pheebs, we've had parties here before, I'm totally cool with it."

"Are you sure, coz I feel like I pushed you into it because I arranged it and..."

"Well you did kind of, but it doesn't matter. If he was a pyscho then I'd mind... I just hope he likes the club."

"Well, here's your chance to ask him. He's just come in."

Piper sat up and spotted Ashley coming down the stairs.

Ash

Ashley looked around, surprised at the amount of people dancing and sitting around. He hadn't expected it to be this big... and yet, it seemed like a cosy little place all the same.

Then he spotted Piper and Phoebe over the other side of the room, smiled, and waved at them.

Getting to the bottom of the staircase, he weaved his way through the people and finally found them.

"Good evening ladies," he grinned, straightening his shirt, "sorry Mindy couldn't make it. She's with her mother looking at wedding plans."

Piper, Phoebe and Paige

"Hey, it was cool of you to come! I hope it wasn't too hard to find." Piper stood up to greet him, while Phoebe looked up and smiled. Piper motioned for Ashley to sit down.

"We were pretty much thinking that we'd drag some tables out, leave these couches, and if there are kids coming, we'll close half the bar and make it strictly kids stuff."

"Hi Ashley, how are you? Sorry, Piper loves to jump right into things. I'm going to get another drink, do you want anything, Ash?"

Ash

"No, no, it wasn't too hard to find. It's easy when you know most of Tulsa... Well, not that I'm around that often these days," he grinned.

He sat down on the couch and bounced a little.

"Nice seating," he looked up at Phoebe, "just some water would be right, thanks. Got to drive home."

Then he leant back and scratched his chin.

"I don't doubt that kids would be coming. The Hansons have three under twelve, and they might bring some friends, so..." he shrugged, clueless.

Paige, Phoebe and Piper

"Thanks... ok, well, we'll close half the bar anyway, just so we don't get in trouble. Hey, we left kinda suddenly from the tournament, we didn't say bye... but thanks for showing us around and all." Piper explained as Phoebe came back carrying two glasses of water.

"Here ya go." Phoebe collapsed on the armchair, fanning herself with her hand.

"Excuse me, I think I'll just go rescue Paige." Piper stood up and went over to Paige who seemed to be having problems with the guys she was with.

"So what have you been up to since we last spoke?" Phoebe sipped her water and flashed Ashley a smile.

Ash

Ashley took the glass from the table and took a sip.

"Uh... when did we talk?" he looked confused for a moment, "oh, the nineteenth. Well..."

He leant back again, the glass in his hand as he tried to remember.

"Well Taylor's out of hospital. I don't know if I told you he was in a car crash," he began, "on Friday we launched their new web site, and yesterday they had a small performance for a school's instrument fund."

He had a drink.

"Apart from hanging out with them and getting potential shots for their next video, I'm trying to get some work done for Admiral Twin. And this is all on top of wedding plans, so... yeah, it's been hectic."

Phoebe

"Oh my gosh... but Taylor's alright, isn't he? Send him our love. So have they decided on a single yet?" Phoebe looked worried, but she relaxed with the thought that if Taylor was seriously dying then he really wouldn't be here.

"Well at least you don't have to worry about the party, Piper's on top of organising that. She's good at it, so don't worry, it'll be great."

Ash

"Tay's fine," Ashley waved her off, "just had a knock on the head and a few cracked ribs that are annoying him."

He scratched his head a little.

"I think things are a little tense between them and their record company at the moment - Def Jam. They're not seeing eye-to-eye on the direction they want to go in," he rubbed his nose, "but I'm sure it'll work out. And I can't thank your sister enough for organizing this for us."

Phoebe, Paige and Piper

"Oh don't worry about it. You're a better client than we usually get. Sometimes people come in a day before they want their parties and expect us to pull off a wonderful shin dig. Piper usually gets it all together though. So relax, this is probably a blessing. Just between you and me, Piper hasn't had a whole lot to do since she left school. But shh." Phoebe smiled again.

Piper and Paige came dancing back over and joined them on the couches.

"So what did I miss? Oh hey Ashley." Paige sat back in her chair.

"Not much." Phoebe winked at Ashley.

"Why do I get the feeling that I'm missing something?" Piper asked suspiciously, fixing stares on Phoebe and Ashley.

Ash

Ashley coughed, trying to avoid being involved in sibling rivalry.

"Well, we're trying to get everything planned in good time," he nodded to Phoebe before smiling at Paige, "hello."

He took another drink, and swirled it in his mouth for a moment thoughtfully. He was imagining everyone he knew in the room.

"The lighting seems to be a bit dull," he began softly, an interested look on his face, but not wanting to push it, "could we maybe get a few spotlights on stands or something?"

He hesitated, considering how it would look.

"But you have a very nice club here. I have nothing against it. In fact, it looks almost suitable for a reception."

Paige, Phobe and Piper

"Yeah we do have brighter lights... we usually don't use them on a regular nights, but when we do special parties, or live bands and stuff we drag some out. If there's anything you want to bring, that's cool, we have enough room for everything basically. We went for this kinda underground look... kinda. I don't think we're succeeding in that though." Piper stopped thoughtfully, glancing around her club.

"What she means to say is that while we were setting this place up, we ran over budget and we had to make do... and after awhile, this look kinda grew on all of us." Paige put in, grinning cheekily.

"We were also kinda wondering, if Isaac, Taylor and Zac want to play here one night for promos, we'd love to have them. Things have been slow as of late. Well, we're pretty packed tonight, but that's because... well I don't actually know why. But we are." Phoebe rushed through her words as she stared at a guy sitting at the bar. "Sorry, but there is a really fine guy over there and I'm gonna... well I'm gonna... you know, he looks lost, I might go give him some directions." Phoebe darted off to the bar.

Piper rolled her eyes. "Well before she had to 'go give directions', what she was saying was true. If they wanted to play, we could headline it and promo them and stuff."

Ash

Ashley nodded.

"I was planning on asking them to do a little something on the night and even at the reception... I'm hoping they won't have a problem with it," he admitted.

"But I'll talk to them soon, and maybe work something out. Do you need a specific date? Or... can they come when they want? They might be a little busy for the next few weeks... Avie has a camp coming up and Tay has his 20th birthday the day she comes back. But I'm sure we can work something out in the long run."

Piper

"The only thing is if they want us to advertise them, they should ring a few days in advance... usually 2 or 3 days ahead of their performance is fine, it gives us time to make up posters, place ads and stuff, so we just need a few days notice." Piper shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts.

"But yeah, if all goes well, we can get them in here. Is there anything else you had in mind for the party?" Piper relaxed in her chair, swirling her straw around in her drink.

Ash

"Well I'll get it all sorted out. They probably wouldn't bother with the advertising, but honestly any publicity is probably good publicity. Or sometimes in their case... maybe not," he grinned.

He sighed and looked around.

"Well, apart from a few spotlights and the karaoke machine," he couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of a karaoke night, "umm... I think everything else is pretty much fine. Can I do a definate booking for the 22nd of March then?"

Piper

Piper reached over to shake Ashley's hand. "Yep, consider it done. We'll even decorate."

"I think just basic advertising then, if you don't want a big deal? Send out a few posters, place one ad in the paper. Regulars will know about it anyway, and so will big Hanson fans. So I don't think we'll have a problem with numbers, if anything, there might be too many people. But we'll work around it."

Ash

"Well that's if they come in the first place," he chuckled, "but there shouldn't be a problem."

He scratched his chin and finished his drink off.

"I'll mention that you're short of gigs, and they'll more than likely help you out. Unfortunately, knowing them I can't give you a definate deadline or anything," he grinned, "but we'll work on it. They have that concert to do on the 28th..."

He trailed off, thinking of what he had to do for that night. Potential shots for the documentary, etc.

Piper

"Ah, we are well familiar with Hanson and the procrastination problem they seem to have." Piper joked, finishing her drink as well.

"Well, if you think of anything closer to the date, you can call or come in, or talk online, whatever. But if there's no problems, then everything should go off without a hitch."

Ash

"Fine. It's all good."

Ashley stood up and brushed himself off, then leant forward to shake Piper's hand.

"Thank your sisters for me when you see them," he nodded with a smile, then looked around searching for the way out.

Spying the staircase, he began toward it.

Piper, Paige and Phoebe

Piper shook Ashley's hand and waved him goodbye.

"Will do. See ya later." She watched him leave before picking up all their empty glasses and taking them to the bar.

"Hey, I'm gonna get going, so it's up to you to close up tonight, ok?" Piper placed the galsses on the bar and spoke to one of her staff.

"Sure, no problem."

"Ok, cool, now I just have to get my sisters." Piper waved and spotted her sisters standing by the stage. She walked over to them.

"You wanna get going?"

Paige and Phoebe nodded, grabbed their coats and bags from the back room and left.
