Taylor
Sometime as dinner was about to start, Taylor left his duties at the door (no one came in this late anyway, and if they did, Harry was still there) to search for Mouse.
He finally found her with Fafnir, whispered something in her ear to convince her to follow him, and then took her outside. He hesitated once he was outside, looking around.
Finally, he found a small balcony, and led her over to it. He jumped up onto it, then extended his hand to help her up. He hadn't spoken since the whisper, and naturally, Mouse was wondering what was going on.
Mouse
"So, why are we whispering and being sneaky? Not that being sneaky is a bad thing, because I've spent most of my life doing just that..." Mouse looked at him with confusion, damning the fact that he had learned to hide himself from an empath. She liked knowing what was going on.
Fafnir watched the boy calmly; he had an idea. Maybe. He was hoping that what he thought the boy was doing, was actually what he was doing.
Taylor
"Je ne sais pas dire que j'ai des sentiments pour vous, ainsi c'est réellement la seule manière que je la dirai volontairement," Taylor whispered with a chuckle, in French.
It roughly translated to: "I don't know how to say I have feelings for you, so this is actually the only way I'll say it willingly."
Fafnir understood however, as he'd also said it in wolf, and his tail started wagging like mad.
Taylor pulled Mouse up onto the balcony, careful not to let her fall, then sat both of them down to look out at the view. Biting his bottom lip, he let his legs swing below him.
"Animals normally have great instincts, don't they?" he began, ignoring Fafnir.
Mouse
"Yeah, usually," Mouse said quietly. "They never let words get in the way. They feel, they think for a bit just to sort out the feelings, and they they either act or don't. It's nice and simple."
Yep. Simple. Mouse spared a glance at the very cheerful wolf and smiled. And we have great intstincts with most things.
"I know, wolf." Mouse smiled wistfully.
Taylor
Taylor chuckled at Fafnir. He knew what he was thinking.
"So ah... it's quite a view tonight. All the lights around. Damn traffic."
He hesitated.
"I know you're not used to it or anything, and you probably won't want to stay here that long. I guess you don't really have much to stay here for."
He looked up at her for a moment with those 'puppy eyes', waiting for a response.
Mouse
"I don't know. I could have a great deal to stay for. I would like to stay, if I had a reason." Mouse felt slightly dizzy. Did he mean what she thought he meant? She could be so wrong, in which case she'd probably embarrassed herself a lot. People! Animals were so much simpler to deal with. She took a breath, and pushed on, trusting her instincts and those of her family. "Would you give me one?"
Taylor
Taylor couldn't help but smile at that particular comment.
"Je vous donnerai n'importe quelle raison que vous voulez," he began in French again (meaning: I'll give you any reason you want).
Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and took her hand.
Then he let go. He let go of the barrier he'd kept up from her. Fafnir continued wagging his tail gleefully as he watched. Taylor let her feel all his interest, his deep annoyance of his power, the hatred for people that tortured animals for the sake of it, just anything he had inside of him.
And he wanted to feel it back.
Mouse
Mouse opened her mouth in surprise. "Oh." And then she laughed happily, sending back good vibe feelings, interest, sympathy with his annoyance at his power, matching it with her own fear of what she could do with hers if she was pushed to it, her surprised pleasure that someone as normal as he was could even be interested in her, and just a sense of herself. The shyness, the bond with her animals, her hatred of those who hurt beings weaker then themselves, and all the kinds of things he;d sent her, revelling in the connection. She brushed her thumb over the back of his hand and leant her head agaisnt his shoulder, feeling safe. She sent him that as well.
Taylor
Taylor gasped, opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water as he took it all in.
"Oh my God," he said, in a mix of all languages.
He opened his eyes and looked toward the sky before letting go of her hands and wrapping his arms around her. He took in the scent of her hair, closed his eyes, and chuckled slightly.
"I guess we had a lot more in common than we thought, huh?" he grinned softly.
Mouse
"Yep," Mouse agreed. "Very much so."
Finally! Fafnir said with a sigh. You know, this whole matchmaking gig is a lot harder then you think it would be.
Yes, wolf. Mouse just smiled.
And what do you say? Fafnir prompted.
Thank you, wolf. Mouse giggled. Now, shoo. He grinned.
I'd say don't do anything I wouldn't, but that gives you too much room to maneuver. So...don't do anything his dam and sire wouldn't approve of. That should be alright. See you two later. Mouse hid her face in Taylor's shoulder and flushed with embarrassment as Fafnir loped off, tail wagging and grinning wildly.
"And I'm so glad now I don't have a real older brother."
Taylor
"You know what?" Taylor chuckled slightly, feeling her face warm up with her blush as he pushed her away a little to look into her face.
"You don't have so much to be embarrassed about anymore."
He looked to where Fafnir had disappeared, grinned at her, then stood up on the balcony and looked down at the ground far below.
"We're quite a way up, and it's hardly even cold."
He closed his eyes, held his arms out, and tried to just feel the night. He smiled for a moment, feeling Mouse next to him, then opened his eyes and looked down at her.
"Anything you want to let loose on me now? Or do you just wanna go inside and eat?" he offered, kneeling down to her.
Mouse
Mouse just smiled. "Food sounds good. I can't think of anything large and shocking to scare you with. I mean, you can deal with the Spider thing, and that's probably the worst thing I have hiding in my mental closets. But please, let's try and keep Zac far away? Ike can't talk cos of Mi, but Zac can, and will. And far away from Sabre. And Nyx." Mouse chuckled slightly. "We seem to collect odd people, us aliens."
Taylor
"Alot of aliens are odd, but I still can't get over the girl that can open inter-dimensional portals with her blood. That has to be weird."
He screwed his face up, then jumped down from the balcony to the landing. He extended a hand to help her down like a gentleman and smiled.
"And don't worry. I plan on staying away from Zac too. Although we could always set Fafnir onto him."
He chuckled.
"And we're definately steering clear of that Sabre guy. I hate the way he looks at me... like lunch or something."
Mouse
"There is always the wolf as the first line of defence, yes." Mouse stepped down daintily, holding tightly to Taylor's hand. "Oh no, Sabre just wanted to make you jealous. He wants to eat *me*. I'm the Mouse, after all." She looked up at him, smiling slyly and letting him feel some of her wry amusement. They walked into the convention center, holding hands.
Taylor
"Well, he won't eat you as long as I'm around," Taylor assured as they headed for the eating area.
As announcements were being made by the commitee and the elder about the day's happenings, Taylor snuck her around the back until they found his family, Fafnir and Nevyn.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late," he cringed, still having hold of Mouse's hand, but letting go to hold a seat back for her - the one next to his.
Mouse
"We got to talking, time flies when you're having fun," Mouse smiled as she sat down. "Thanks, Tay."
So...Nevyn said slowly.
"Not a word, rat, not a word." Mouse pointed a finger at him. I'll be safe, I'll be fine. Nice boys play nice.
The rat laughed. That wasn't what I was going to say...but yes. I trust you with him.
After all, I can always rip his throat out. Fafnir commented cheerfully.
There will be no throat ripping. No. Definetly not. I like Tay's throat in one piece, ta muchly wolf.
Hey, you wanna be the alpha bitch, he's gotta play alpha male. You up to it, boy?
"Ignore him. He thinks in pack terms," Mouse told Taylor. "Wolf, not so much on long range planning.
Hey! Fafnir said indignantly. Simple question, ey. Not that I wasn't serious. You playing by the pack rules?
Taylor
Taylor sat down, chuckling at the animals' enthusiasm.
"I don't think so," he replied in wolf, "I'm not that fast. But you might wanna quieten down, we're supposed to be listening to the old guy."
He smiled up at Mouse charmingly, and again took her hand in his.
"Quieten down," a voice suddenly ordered in his head, and he could tell Mouse heard the same words.
He stole a glance at Jacob, the telepathic commitee member. He was looking straight at them. Taylor glared on his and Mouse's behalf. Jacob wasn't someone that everyone got on with.
Mouse, Nyx and Priss
Mouse flinched at the voice in her mind, then bared her teeth at the guy on the stage who was looking at the two of them with quiet disdain. People in her head she could do very well without, ta muchly. She'd had enough bad experiences with that. She looked away and smiled at Taylor. He was getting all defensive...that was nice.
Do you reckon he runs fast? Fafnir wondered softly beside her. Mouse looked at him, puzzled. Cos, I'm thinking hunting. Although, he'd probably taste like crap. Mouse started to shake with suppressed laughter. Americans always eat too much fast food, and it clogs up their arteries. Whaddya reckon, Mouseling? We go hunting afters?
Don't think so. I don't think it would be taken kindly if you ate one of the committe members.
~*~*~*~
Priss looked up, concerned as Mouse's unease sparked up again. Bother, and she'd been getting on so well with that Hanson child. Who had caused the lovely girl even the slightest pain? Nyx grinned at Priss, showing off needle sharp teeth.
"Guy on the stage, Priss."
"Thank thee, Nyx." Priss narrowed her eyes and slid into his mind, holding him still so he couldn't react or call for help. "Leave the children alone."
"Who is this?" He was furious.
"This be someone with whom you have no experience. I be Priss, and thee would not believe my nature if I told thee. So closeminded..." Priss sighed. "The child dost not have the best experience with the walkers of the mind. She was hurt badly by the one thy organisation calls the Spider. He killed her parents when she was but fuve years of age, and made her watch it, feel it through her empathy. Thou wilt leave her alone, or you will have the cats on thy tail. Now, sit down, shut up and be a good boy." Priss scratched through his mind lightly, then slipped away. On the stage, he sat up with a gasp.
"Isn't being naughty fun?" Nyx chuckled.
"Exquisitely." Priss returned to meditating placidly.
~*~*~*~
"Ok, what's with that guy?" Mouse asked Taylor softly; she didn't want to get yelled at again.
Fafnir snickered deep in his throat. I think Priss just took a hand. Oh, but he deserved it, ey?
Bastet's children
Sabre leant his elbows on the table as Priss closed her eyes again. "So, what was that about, ey?"
"Nasty man on the stage going walking through the Mouse's mind," Nyx whispered. "Scared her. Priss took a walk through his. Bad dreams for him tonight." Nyx grinned evilly.
Sabre whistled through his teeth. "Can we play?"
"No playing. We be guests here," Priss ordered.
"And ye be the youngest, Priss me girl. We won't hurt them...much." Sabre smiled, and then leant back in his chair, lacing his hands together behind his head. "Just a bit o' fun." He cleared his throat, and Nyx started to hum in excitement. "They should finish soon, anyways. Can ye get me my guitar, Nissie?"
"Of course." Nyx held her hands up and an acoustic guitar smacked into them. She handed it over to Sabre and he ran his fingers softly over it, nodding at the sweet and mellow sounds. He tuned it, humming in perfect pitch. "We have a pop band here anyways. Maybe we should challenge them, later?"
"Nyx, if we dance, the judges couldn't do it. Especially if we play Rom."
"I love Gypsies. They dance and dance and sing their hearts out," Nyx said in happy nostalgia. "Not so much now, but back when the towns weren't so established. They're forgetting their own language now. It's sad."
"True, very true." He quietened the humming from the steel strings as he looked up at the stage, raising an eyebrow at the speaker. "I'll be good for now, but...ye know me, I get bored easy. I'll play later, and you two can dance. We'll draw a crowd." Sabre and Nyx shared a grin as Priss sighed.
"He's very strong, that man on the stage," she commented quietly. "But I be much stronger then any here. The pair of ye, stop it. Playing with the children is not nice. Not the way you two play, anyway."
"I wanna go annoy that Hanson boyo who's interested in the Mouse," Sabre said suddenly.
"Shh, Sabre. They be finished soon." At least I hope so, Priss amended in her mind. Sabre and Nyx be getting tired of this rigmarole rapidly.
Priss narrowed her eyes. "The pair of thee can stop that and be quiet, or thee wilt be leaving. I wilt not have the two of thee ruin this for them. We be *guests* here. They did not have to let us in." Nyx shrugged and Sabre sighed as he cradled his guitar to his chest.
"Sorry, Priss. Magick me out of here and I'll go hunting. Nyx, you wanna come with? And then ye can get us when this be done." Sabre looked at Priss thoughtfully. "Short attention span, sorry."
"It be not I thee needs to apologise to!" Priss hissed angrily. "I am mortified by thy behaviour. Go, and hope that I be in a better mood when I bring thee back!" Priss made a gesture, and the two vanished. She put her hands over her eyes tiredly and rubbed at her temples. Why did she have to be the mature one in these situations?
~*~*~*~
Sabre and Nyx hit the ground hard. They stood, dusting themselves off. They looked around. Sabre whistled tunelessly between his teeth. "We really did annoy her this time." They were standing in the middle of an icy forest, and a wolf's howl hung on the air. Nyx shivered and pulled her coat close.
"Uh huh."
Taylor
Taylor leant over to whisper in her ear carefully.
"He's the only telepath on the commitee, and he's also the only one known to abuse his power. He's a downright asshole, don't worry about him."
Taylor leant back and wrinkled his nose.
"Quite frankly I don't care if anything's wrong with him. No one does."
Zac, Isaac and Miette
"Aww, isn't that sweet," Zac said maliciously. "Taylor whispering sweet nothings in Mouse's ear."
"Don't mind him," Isaac grinned. "Zac's just annoyed because he has four girlfriends and none of them are alien, so he can't invite them here."
"Actually," Zac retorted. "I only have three now."
"What? Really? When did this happen?"
"Oh a couple of days ago."
"Which one?"
"Maggie."
"Good riddence. Who dumped who?"
"She me," he wiggled his eyebrows. "She got annoyed when I stopped putting out."
"Stopped putting out?" Miette asked. "Isn't it supposed to be the other way?"
"Exactly!" Zac said, jumping on the opportunity. "Girls need to know that just because they want to have sex, it doesn't mean guys are going to come at their beck and call. Maggie just couldn't handle me taking control."
What Zac wasn't telling, was that the real reason was that Julie getting pregnant freaked him out a little, especially considering her father's reaction. This on top of the sex lectures they had gotten from parents (which included a few extra reasons to becareful on account of being an alien), was making Zac somewhat nervous about telling anyone why they had broken up. Maybe he was just being paranoid, but he felt he had better start thinking about consequences a bit more in this issue.
"Maggic couldn't handle you taking control, huh?" Isaac asked. "What happen? You told her to stop using the whip?"
Taylor
Taylor rolled his eyes. He was so glad he wasn't like Zac.
"Oh, by the way Zac, Sheldon wants to catch up with you later. Says he has someting to brag about. Personally, I do not want to know," he shook his head.
"And it wasn't sweet nothings actually. I was telling her what a jerk Jake is. On the commitee."
Mouse
"Whip? Soooo don't wanna know." Mouse suddenly jumped in her chair and swivelled her head to look at Priss. Priss waved back, grim expression on her face. "Some kitties just took a ride to the Russian tundra."
I can live very well without that infernal magick rippling through my fur. Yowza! Fafnir shook himself hard. That was quite the spell.
"And Zac? Tone down on the sexual vibe. Itchy. And yick. You're like a queen on heat." Mouse shuddered theatrically. "Except yours doesn't get switched off. Poor you." She fluttered her eyelashes at the startled Hanson. "Would you like some milk, kitty?"
Zac, Isaac and Miette
"You hear that Zac? You're in permanent heat," Isaac informed him.
Zac just poked his tongue out at him.
"Can you touch your nose with your tongue?" Miette asked suddenly.
"No."
"I can, see?"
And Miette stuck out her tongue and touched the tip of her nose.
"Very good. Where do you want me to pin the medal?"
Miette just grinned.
Taylor and Sheldon
"Zac is in permanent heat," Taylor grinned, glad the talking had stopped and people had started eating, "but I think there's a better subject for the dinner table."
"Zac!" came a nearby voice suddenly, before Sheldon came into view and practically pounced on him from behind with a grin.
"Man, i gotta take you somewhere and tell you bout this girl I met in... Oh, hey guys," he grinned at Ike, Taylor and Mouse.
His eyes lit up when he saw Taylor and Mouse holding hands. He pointed to them accusingly.
"See? I predicted this, didn't I?" he shook his head proudly.
Then he grabbed Zac's shoulders and tried pulling him back.
"Come on man, follow me!"
"Where's Ashley, Shel?" Taylor frowned, ignoring his comment.
"He went home ages ago. He'll be back early tomorrow."
Zac and Isaac
"So, what about this girl you met?" Zac asked dryly as he followed Sheldon away from the table.
"Ahh, so our little bro goes off to get even more corrupted by the powers of, umm," Isaac considered his next word "kinkiness?"
Mouse and Priss
Mouse laughed softly. She had surprised them when she spoke up for herself. "He's a bit shocked and humilated, but he'll get over it. Bounce back."
Singed his tail but good, Mouseling. Fafnir put his head on her knee. Mouse grinned.
That's what I do best, after all. You hungry at all?
I'll go hunting later. Fafnir dismissed her concern easily. When Priss brings Nyx and Sabre back. Or I'll go hunting with Priss. Speaking of the cat, there she is! Fafnir jumped up and put his head demandingly under Priss's hand. She laughed quietly and ran her hand through his fur.
"And it be good to see thee too, master wolf."
Damn straight.
"How be thee, Mouse? I have already told the man off for scaring thee like that. So rude!" Priss frowned.
"I'm over it." Mouse shrugged.
"So how be thy paramour?"
"Um, Priss, we tend to go by slightly less formal words now..." Mouse blushed.
"Beau? Be that better?"
"It's not codified. And besides, I'm sure he can speak for himself." Mouse blushed harder. Priss's eyes glowed with mischief.
Sheldon and Taylor
"Oh man, what NOT about this girl. She is THE best," Sheldon hushed his words as people walked by.
He draped himself over Zac's shoulder.
"She will do the whole thing. I mean leather, cat whip, fluffy handcuffs you name it. She's a complete dominatrix, even for free. And I know, because I don't pick up hookers," he grinned.
Meanwhile...
Taylor looked Priss up and down. She was the one Mouse met at the door, wasn't she?
"I'm afraid we haven't formally met," he began, standing up for her.
"Taylor Hanson. Sorry about that whole thing at the door before, but you know you can never be too careful."
He realized he was stuttering. There was just something about Priss that made you want to be extra careful with what you said to her.
Mouse and Bastet's children
"There be dakness in the world that the likes of thee have not yet encountered. Thee wilt not have to worry over much now, however. I have set wards around this entire center. So safe we be from the supernatural and most of the mundane." Priss shrugged and then looked around at the table. "So. I be Priss. I'm a cat, a child of a god. It's complicated."
"What did you do to Nyx and Sabre? Are you going to bring them back?" Mouse asked anxiously.
"They annoyed me. They were being quite rude to our hosts. However, if thee wishes their return..." Priss's eyes glowed white for a moment, and then Sabre and Nyx hit the floor beside her.
"OW!" Nyx leapt supply to her feet and Sabre got up more slowly, checking his guitar over. They were both dusted with snow. "Cold. Very very very cold. Please do not do that again. I hate Russia."
"Well, the Romani be fun, but the Russians as a whole are rather boring. But hey, vodka!" Sabre tuned his guitar and coaxed a skirling dance tune from it. "Gotta love the country that invented some of the most potent alcohol known to man at least." He strummed rapidly, flicking out a few more notes before quieting the strings. He slung it over his back and leant over Mouse. "Miss me, lovely?" She patted his head.
"Not at all. Not in the very slightest bit, you Irish blarney tongued tom. I just thought you might be cold." He laughed and bent down to kiss her cheek.
"Thank you then. C'mon, Niss. How you goin', Wolf? You wanna come hunting with us?" Fafnir leapt to his feet, tail wagging furiously.
You bet! Let's go, ey?
"Ok. Priss, mind our stuff." The two black cats disrobed rapidly and shifted, streaking out of the hall as Priss leant down to fold their clothes. Fafnir raced after them. Mouse sighed.
Don't eat anyone's pets! Mouse turned to Taylor. "I really hope they heard that. It's embarrassing when he turns up with a collar stuck between his teeth." Priss chuckled as she sat down at the table, still neatly folding her siblings discarded clothes.
"Nyx and Sabre wilt look after him. And they wilt not let themselves be caught, either. They be good at that."
Isaac and Zac
"Your friend plays the guitar?" Isaac inquired of Priss. "I'm sorry, I don't think we've offially met. I'm Isaac, but everyone calls me Ike."
Zac, on the other hand...
"Hmm," he said to Sheldon. "Having fun I take it then? Sorry to burst your bubble man, but ahh..."
Zac glanced back at the others before continuing.
"I don't really go in for that stuff any more. Something came up."
Mouse and Priss
"Greetings, Ike. Yes, Sabre loves his guitars." Priss put the aforementioned instrument at her feet carefully, cradled by the clothing. "Woe betide the one who damges one of his instruments. I remember when Nyx did once, of course guitars hadn't been invented then, it was a type of lyre. She stepped on it and broke the frame of it. He was so angry...it was quite a fight, complete with explosions, lightening and random earth movements." Priss giggled.
"Well, bad temper." Mouse raised her eyebrow.
"Just with his instruments and his lovers. Very possessive, but male. You get that." Priss leant into Mouse and whispered into her ear. "Wacth thy love when Sabre returns. Thee will see fireworks then."
"I hope not," Mouse mumured back. "I like Tay in one piece."
"But Sabre loves a challenge. Thee will just need to set him on someone else." Priss straightened up and nodded firmly. "It wilt not be that difficult. He has a short attention span." Priss put her hands together under her chin, and smiled at the table. "Cats are like that."
Sheldon and Taylor
"Come on man, nothing ever comes up between you and your bitches!" Sheldon exclaimed.
"The only thing that could stop you would be if you screwed up and got on pregnant, which is not good if you're an alien," he chuckled, "but I know you, and you wouldn't. Now, just trust me. Net time you're in OKC, give Cathy a call."
He pulled out a card and gave it to him.
"I'll see you around."
He patted his shoulder and took off.
Meanwhile...
"This is getting really weird," Taylor shook his head.
He looked to Mouse.
"Want to go for a walk outside?"
Zac
Zac glanced at the card for a moment, was sorely tempted for all of five seconds, then walked back to the table, tossing it in the bin on his way.
Mouse and Priss
"Sure, why not?" Mouse smiled at Taylor. "Be nice, Priss."
"Sweet, I am always perfectly pleasant." Priss looked innocent.
"Uh huh, that's why brood boy on stage had been giving you deathglares all evening."
"He deserved it. I'm nice to nice people. Go, have fun." Priss made a shooing motion. "I'll tell Fafnir when he returns where thou be, so he wilt not worry."
"Thanks, Priss." Mouse gave the smaller girl a fierce hug before standing up. "Let's go, Tay."
Taylor
Taylor raised an eyebrow, but let it fall again. He put his arm around Mouse's shoulders and led her towards the outside door again. He nodded to Harry as they passed, then sighed once they were outside.
"You made some new friends pretty quick," he smiled, before letting go of her and making his way over to a nearby park bench.
Mouse
Mouse walked over to the bench and sat down beside him, leaning her head against his shoulder. "They're cats. Human shaped, but very much cats. And Priss is just good right down to her bones. Nyx and Sabre are a bit darker, but they're still nice. I don't usually. Make friends. Why, jealous?" She grinned.
Taylor
He frowned a little.
"No, not at all," he insisted, lifting an arm over her head to her shoulders again then resting his head on hers.
"Just not the kind of people I mix with, if you know what I mean. The fact that they're cats has nothing to do with it, you know I'm open to animals."
He turned his head a little to smell her white hair, and closed his eyes.
Mouse
"Yeah, I know. Priss has that mystic gig going on, and Sabre and Nyx play the big bad rebel without a cause very well." Mouse sighed, cuddling up to his warm body. "Mmm, you smell good," she sighed. "S'nice."
Taylor
Taylor chuckled.
"Well that's interesting, seeing as I haven't showered today."
He grinned and hugged her.
"You know, if Priss did do something to Jacob like I think she did, he's probably going to tell the elder. If Priss gets kicked out I'll let her back in anyway."
He hesitated for a moment, watching the street as a couple of people walked past. No one paid any attention to them, mainly as it was dark and they couldn't see who he was.
Mouse
"Priss'll fix it. Don't worry about the kitties. They'd just stay anyway. Really thinking the elder and Jacob don't understand cats. Who's the elder?" Mouse twisted her head to look Taylor in the face. "Still lost on this alien thing, especially the politics."
Taylor
"The elder is the guy that takes control of the speeches. He's basically the head of the YIRAAS. He looks about forty or fifty, but I think he's about 400 years old. He's immortal."
He hesitated, watching the door.
"He has an assistant, that Danielle girl, then below them are the 12 commitee members like Dad. They're basically the 'alien council' if that's what you want to call it. They're not all from Tulsa, they just travel with the tournaments. Luckily Dad has us as an ecuse to stay in Tulsa," he chuckled.
Mouse
"Well then. Immortal. Getting more and more used to that idea, especially after meeting the people I met today. I met a vampire. Interesting guy. You might have seen him walking around, or let him in. Bleached hair, blue eyes, wicked cheekbones, British accent, big black leather duster. Kinda cute in that punk way. And then there's the cats of course. Immortal too." Mouse sorta trailed off, thinking. "Scary almost. Immortality. Really thinking, not so much fun." Mouse felt contemplative, staring out at the night. She grinned as she glimpsed a grey shadow, flanked by two black ones slid through darkness. Well, someone was having fun tonight.
Taylor
"The supernatural isn't something I really take a liking to," Taylor admitted, scratching his nose, "ghosts know aliens, and they're not afraid of them to say the least."
He couldn't help but chuckle.
"Vampires and gods on the other hand... they've only just discovered aliens. Some of the alien population have known about them for a while though."
He sighed, then leant his head back and tried to relax. Closing his eyes, he took in the night air. He could hear a couple of spiders behind the seat arguing over food.
Mouse
"S'interesting, innit, how we've just slid past each other? Although, I was glad to find out the almighty scare I had a while back was not me seeing things, and was actually a vampire. Not that that is really comforting either. Cos, big bitey guys with yellow eyes and ridgy faces is not cool either. It just means I'm not seeing things, and I'm not crazy. And you have no idea how comforting that is." Mouse rambled on for a moment, then felt how tense Taylor was. She ran her thumb along the back of his hand and sent soothing thoughts through. "Breathe deep, seek peace. Or maybe, stress less, live longer is more your style." She chuckled slightly. She could feel Fafnir out there, rejoicing in the thrill of the hunt and the cool amusement of the two immortals. "God, Fafnir is having fun. I mean, I can hunt with him sometimes, but Im only human. Can't keep up with him the way those two are doing."
Taylor
"You're not human," Taylor grinned, feeling her trying to calm him, "I have to say you've taken it well. Most would probably have had an identity crisis, even if they knew they had a power."
He hesitated again, listening to the two spiders. From what he could make out, one was a lot bigger than the other.
"I can't say that not knowing about vampires in the first place wouldn't have helped," he chuckled, then gulped as the arachnids began planning future meals with really gross details.
He looked to Mouse.
"You're not scared by spiders, are you?"
Mouse
"Roll with the punches, Tay, roll with the punches." Her mind flicked back to a few times when the punching had been physical, and clamped down on her flicker of fear/pain. "And I'm only scared of the one Spider, and he ain't here. Why?"
Taylor
Taylor couldn't help but grin at her admission to be scared of Craig Morrison.
"Ah, there's a couple down here behind us discussing dinner. I know you can tell they're making me sick," he began.
"Wanna go somewhere else or back inside or something? I don't think I can take this much longer."
He looked down at her hopefully.
Mouse and Bastet's children
"Whatever ya feel like doing. Spiders talking about dinner? Yuck. Let's go." Mouse stood, and then went over backwards as Fafnir barelled into her, quickly followed by the two cats. "Oof! Let me up." Mouse pushed them off her chest. "Have a good hunt?"
Lovely. Got a rabbit, few rats. Was quite the chase. Your wolf is good, kitten. Sabre rubbed his cheek along her ankle.
"Glad to hear it. Shoo." She stood up and the cats twined about her legs. "I'm quite fine, and seem to be continuing that way."
Vamps about, don't go too far from the center. Priss has a gaurd up they can't cross, just stay near by. Nyx warned.
"Fine. Go away now."
Let's go hunting! Fafnir spun on his legs and took off. Sabre glared at Taylor, before also taking off. Nyx chuckled deep in her throat.
Don't mind my brother. He's just that way. Good taste you have in mates, sweetie.
"Oh nononono! Not mates." Mouse's face went up in flames. "Can you say boyfriend? I know you can." Nyx laughed again, before following her hunting partners. "Dear god. What amazing lack of tact."
Taylor
Taylor watched after them with an amused grin. They'd either forgotten or didn't know that he had Tongue as a power.
He was betting they didn't know.
"Interesting friends you keep," he flashed a smile at Mouse, one that was make the teenies shiver in their graves.
"By the sound of it they didn't know I was listening in on their conversation. No doubt Fafnir will tell them."
He chuckled.
"So, where do you want to go?"
Mouse
Mouse smiled back, eyes shining. Wow. He just...wow. He made her stomach do flipflops. "Well, you heard what they said. Don't plan on turning into one of the undead. But walking's good. Walking around in the night. Anywheres." She lifted her face to the sky and breathed in deeply. "I love the night, even though I know now what lives in it. Or doesn't, may be a better way of saying it." She laughed, her face still upturned as she looked at the stars. "Vampires. How weird is that? Even odder then aliens."
Taylor
Taylor took her hand slowly and squeezed it gently.
"Yeah. I'm betting they'd leave us alone though. As much as it may look it, alien blood is nothing like human blood. I guess our powers would have a... rather odd effect on them."
He grinned.
"And I've always got myself and other covered anywhere I go anyway. Even at night."
He looked up as he heard an owl yell out. Talk about timing.
"Is that you Gloria?!" he called out in owl, almost forgetting he was with Mouse, even though he held her hand in his.
"'Tis my Taylor?" came the reply.
He grinned again.
"Yep," he replied, "wanna come for a walk?"
There was a moment of silence before a large 'swoosh' was heard, and Gloria appeared - bright against the night - to land on his shoulder.
He turned to Mouse.
"Mouse, meet Gloria. She's been here many years."
Mouse, Nyx and Sabre
Mouse's eyes went wide. Oooh. Owl. Mouse felt like she should dip a curtsey or something. Hello, Gloria. Fine night for hunting, is it not? Beware the cats hunting tonight though. Mouse bowed her head for a moment in respect of the owl, then looked up again. They be two and strong. Hunting with a wolf. I'll just call them and tell them hands off. Mouse whistled sharply, and Fafnir soon loped in out of the darkness, muzzle painted in blood. Don't touch me with blood on your face! I havta go back insode later. He halted, tail wagging slightly. Where's Nyx and Sabre?
Here we are, lovely. Sabre padded to her side and looked up at the owl in interest. Present, lovely? You shouldn't have.
No! No eating of Gloria. She's Taylor's friend.
Alrighty then, sweetie. Nyx appeared at her brother's side. No eating of the owl. She looked up at Taylor. Wouldn't mind licking your boyfriend though. Nummy.
He understands you, ya know.
I knew. Sabre told me he understood him and Priss when they talked in our old language. See ya round, Athena's symbol. Catch ya in the night. And I meant it about the licking. Mmmhmm. Mouse blushed as Nyx grinned and then slipped away into the night. C'mon, boys! Night's young and things out there are just aching to be caught!
As ye say, Nyx. See ya later, lovely. Owl. Kid. Sabre faded away.
Hunt! Fafnir ran flat out, nose lifted to the moon in howling song. The feel of the earth under my paws, the blood in my mouth calls singing to me...
"Well then. Let's walk." Mouse sighed in relief as the Folk ran.
Taylor
"Darn canid and felines, no respect for other night hunters," Gloria whispered into Taylor's ear.
He nodded.
"They be new to Tulsa, Gloria. Fafnir the wolf travels with Mouse here, the other two are werehumans and I have no idea where they originate from."
Gloria nodded. Taylor turned to Mouse.
"Ok, let's go."
"Do you mind me hunting along the way?" Gloria asked pleasantly.
"No, I'm getting used to it," Taylor replied, scratching her chin as she put her head forward.
Mouse
"Birds I'm kinda used to, with Sparra and all. But owls have always been special." Mouse started walking with Taylor. Welcome, lady. I agree, felines can be a bit selfish when it comes to hunting, but wolves be pack. She raised her eyes to the owl's golden ones. He be *my* pack. Just telling. So, how long have you known Taylor?
Taylor
"Many years love, many years," Gloria cooed, happy Mouse could understand her.
"Do you have Tongue like my Taylor?"
Taylor turned to Mouse.
"She's always referred to me as 'her' Taylor," he rolled his eyes, "Mouse has empathy with animals. Well, mainly. She understands only your intent."
"Same difference," Gloria fluttered her wings a little.
Mouse
"As long as she knows you're also mine." And finally, someone gets it! Give the owl a prize. Sorry, Tay. She patted his arm. But she really, really does. It's always the same. Words are not the deal with the Folk. Intent is the same as the communication. Sooo much simpler for me. She felt a burst of bloodlust and an animal's dying wail and shuddered slightly. I really wish he'd hunt firther away so I don't feel them die.
Taylor
Taylor hated it when she felt unsettled.
"Ok, let's... let's try and lose them."
He looked around, trying to spot their car. Failing, he changed direction slightly.
"There's a bit of a park further down the road. We can go there, it'll be safe," he flashed her a trustworthy smile, "we just need to take the back way so people don't see Gloria and think I'm a weirdo."
Mouse
"It is a bit Harry Potter-esque." Mouse smiled. "Parsel tongue an' all. Except you can talk to everything, not just snakes. But I guess we feel the same way about our powers. Don't you just wish you could shut it off sometimes?" They started walking towards the park in the direction Taylor indicated.
Taylor
"Don't tell me you're into Harry Potter. Mackie's got it all over his walls," Taylor rolled his eyes, "we try to stop him before he makes us sing the soundtrack."
He chuckled.
The park wasn't very far away, and to Taylor's delight it was deserted. Not for that reason, but because they could openly talk to any animals that might be there. He could already hear a couple of rats in the thrush.
He led Mouse toward the small lake in the centre, then let go of her to climb a nearby monument. At the top, he stopped and surveyed the park.
"I'll be back," Gloria whispered, swooping down to hunt.
Taylor looked down at Mouse.
"Gloria's hunting shouldn't bother you too much. She's pretty considerate of empaths in general."
Mouse
"Yeah, I got that. Cats...like to play." Mouse wrapped her arms around herself and shivered. "Fafnir doesn't, usually. It's not really part of a wolf's hunting pattern. Hunt, chase, rip its throat out, boom, over. Cats like to tease. Draw it out. Make the poor things go mad in fear cos they *know* they're going to die. Sooner or later. As soon as the cat makes up its mind to finish it." Mouse looked up, then looked away. "Not pleasant to feel. And Fafnir's hunting...he's polite enough to take it far away, or make sure I empathise with him so deep I don't feel for the prey. Just...feel the rush." Mouse smiled at that. "Wolves are very passionate." She turned to look out at the lake, already sensing the myrid animals that scurried around. Mostly well fed and happy.
Taylor
Taylor had quite a good view from where he was standing above the monument. The park was full of trees with sleeping birds, frogs in the lake sang, and the night hunters ran amongst the small trees in their search for food. A lot of spiders were out too.
Unfortunately, not alot of the voices were familiar like Gloria's. Most likely because he'd often avoided the park.
Taking a deep breath, he jumped from the monument, bending his knees to take his weight as he landed on his feet. He eyed off a large rock they could sit on by the water.
He turned to Mouse nervously.
"Ah... you wanna sit down or something?" he offered, indicating the rock.
Mouse
"Yeah." They made their way quietly to the rock. "This is nice. Normal. You know how much normal I get? Very, very little." They sat down, Mouse leaning into Taylor's side again. "Romantic, even. And it's even Valentine's day." She shook her head at that. "Hearts and flowers and lovey dovey stuff." She laughed softly. "Nice." She placed her seal of approval over the whole night. "Very nice."
Taylor
"I'm glad you think so," Taylor chuckled, "because I don't really have much to offer tonight. Kind of a last minute thing, huh?"
He smiled and sighed.
"I'll get you something for Valentines first thing in the morning, I promise."
He closed his eyes and breathed in her scent again, then leant back a little, allowing for her to sit up. Then he stared into her eyes and dropped his barrier again to let her feel his intent... like an animal.
"Aucune merveille la nuit n'est foncée... les étoiles ont été volées du ciel et ont glissé dans les fenêtres à votre âme éternelle," he whispered, a smile appearing on his face.
He looked her up and down and ran his fingers through her hair playfully.
Mouse
"You don't have to buy me anything, truly." Mouse let him feel her sincerity about that point. She wanted to get that out of the way. "Beaux sentiments, j'aime la manière que vous les parlez ce qui," she whispered to him, and then laughed at his surprised expression. "Ainsi étonnant? J'ai passé six mois à la Nouvelle- Orléans. Je sais français, pas beaucoup, juste assez de, amour." She felt him jump when she called him love. "Surprised ya. Good. Don't want ya thinkin' ya get me figured out." She looked up into his eyes, giggling softly as he kept stroking her hair. And then he kissed her. She gasped in surprise, then surrendered herself to it. Oh god yes. She let him feel what he was doing to her, which was basically turning her into a puddle. She could feel him back, and that was just...wow.
Taylor
Taylor grinned as he took a breath.
"Vous avez su," he accused softly before he kissed her again, "vous avez su quand I a indiqué la première fois que j'ai eu des sentiments pour vous que vous m'avez mené dessus, pas vous?"
He revelled in the emotions she sent his way, at the same time shivering from the cold. It was still classified winter after all.
"I don't care," he grinned as he pulled away again, "honestly. In fact it's cool."
OOC:
for those who don't know or haven't realized, they're talking in French mostly.

Mouse
"Uh huh. It was sweet. And having a secret is always fun. Ooh, cold. Maybe we should head back. And your family may be worrying." She drew his head down for another kiss. "But we kick Zac's ass if he says one word. Just the one. That's all it will take. You can cheer from the sidelines, or join in. All be cool."
Taylor
Taylor had to have at least one more kiss, before he finally set his head down on her shoulder to catch his breath. Closing his eyes, he smelt her, and then kissed her neck.
"Ok. But wait until Gloria comes back. She'll be worried about me otherwise," he said softly, playing with her hair again.
It was then that he heard the two frogs by the rock. They were discussing humans and their relationships after watching him with Mouse. Taylor grinned.
"Excuse me for a moment," he smiled, sitting up and putting a finger to his lips.
He held a finger up at her to signal for her to stay there, then slowly slid from the rock to the ground. He spotted the two frogs with their backs to him, and began to slowly creep up on them.
"Isn't it weird?" the female asked.
"Maybe because we're not HUMAN!" Taylor eclaimed in frog, right behind them.
Both jumped at least two feet high in fright, one jumping for the water. The other was cornered against the rock.
Mouse
"Ok, that? That was pure evil. You almost scared them out of their tiny minds. And bonus. I get a bf that likes to play." She got to her feet and stalked down to the water's edge and Taylor's side. Shh, little one. She made the frog calm down, then slipped her hand underneath it and let it leap from her hand to the water. Be good! Have many little tadpoles, and so forth. She giggled happily as surprise from the pond swept her. "Oh, fun! Let's go find Gloria. I'm very cold now I've lost my heater." Mouse lifted her head, then nodded in satisfaction. "This way." She set off towards the owl's cool, predatory mind.
Taylor
"I would have calmed them down. At least now they know humans aren't the only ones that look like this," Taylor ran his hand over his face, then grabbed hers.
They soon found Gloria.
"Gloria?!" Taylor called, seeing the owl turn to him, "we're going back to the centre, want to come?"
"I'll stay with my Taylor, dear," came her reply as she swooped towards him and landed on his shoulder again.
"Ever the lady," he smiled, scratching under her wing before smiling at Mouse.
"Shall we?"
Mouse
"Why ever not?" Mouse reached up and scratched the owl under her beak softly. The bird hooted in quiet pleasure as the trio set out for the convention center. Fafnir appeared as they were about to enter it, thankfully free of blood.
Finally! Treat my pack right, and I won't ever have to chase you down and kill you cos you made her cry. Deal? Without waiting for an answer, Fafnir trotted into the convention center.
"I wouldn't let him. Rip out your throat, I mean. Don't worry, over protective wolf older brother thing going. It's complicated, and do trust me that you don't want to get involved." She waved a hand at the guy on the door in order to quell the concern he had going. "Wolves equals protection equals death threats on a daily basis. Taylor's a big boy, he can handle it. Can't you, mon cher?" She ran her hand through his hair and Gloria chuckled.
Taylor
"Quelque chose pour vous, souris de manque," he grinned.
He chuckled when he saw Harry's face.
"Nevermind. Flirting in French," he explained.
"I'm not worried about Fafnir," Taylor said to Mouse as they walked through the entrance, "I may have only known him for a week and a half, but he's a pretty predictable wolf. He's all 'attack, ask questions once they're all dead'."
He chuckled.
"Let's go find Ike and that."
Mouse
"True. He was worse, if you can believe it. I've been a good influence on him. And he's been a bad influence on me." Mouse chuckled as they walked into the convention center. "There they are." The two headed over to the table, where everyone was still sitting. "They haven't moved or nuthin'. Odd." Mouse ran her eye over the group as they approached. "We were out for a while, and you people are all still here. Miss us?"
Isaac and Zac
"Does it look like we have anything better to do?" Isaac asked with a grin.
"I dunno," Zac teased. "I think you and Miette could think of something interesting to do."
"Zac, my brother, I love you as a family pet, take your mind out of the gutter."
"Umm, no. If I did that, I'd have to get it qashed to. And dry cleaning is so expensive."
Taylor
Taylor didn't bother telling Mouse to ignore them. Putting up with them for a week already had taught her to.
He held the chair out for her again before she sat down and he sat next to her.
"So, how was everyone's day? I don't really get to find out until dinner," Taylor grinned at his brothers, sneakily slipping his hand into Mouse's beneath the table. ittle
Mouse
Mouse smiled happily as he slid his hand into hers. "Mine was interesting. Met a vampire, two actually, slayers, cat gods, very action packed. Fun. And still no word on the family front..." Mouse looked away for a second, then shook her head hard to throw the thought out. "Not thinking about that. So. Anyone do anything in the comps?"
Isaac, Zac and Miette
"None of my comps were on today," Isaac said.
"Nor mine," Zac added. "But Jess did awesome in conjuring."
"I saw that," Miette commented. "One word: wow. I had no idea we could do such things."
"Say, who's planning on going in the challenge tomorrow?" Isaac asked. "I'm already ready to kick Zac's butt."
Zac grinned.
Taylor
"Ashley was looking forward to a challenge, except he doesn't want to go against either of you," Taylor nodded to them.
"He was challenged by Katie for Sunday though."
He grinned.
"Let's hope he gets the better of her."
Mouse and Priss
Priss started suddenly, one hand going to her head, then her eyes narrowed. "Naughty sibs. Nyx, stop that right now. Make sure thee pays for what thee takes." Priss cocked her head as if listening and nodded. "Fine." She noticed their eyes on her, and she smiled. "Magick. We have a bloodbond, lets us stay in contact."
"OK, cool. I hope Ashley wins, he was nice. This Katie, was she the one who slapped him?" Mouse asked curiously. "Cos, whoa. Nasty feelings. Very vengeful, though why I have no idea. Do you?"
Taylor
"Yeah, Katie was the one that slapped him. They have a history," Taylor began, his eyes on Priss.
"Ashley and Ike have this thing... every year they've won the Shapeshifter Sculptures together - it's on tomorrow - and last year was the first year they were ever beaten. By Katie and her friend. It's safe to say there's no love lost between them."
He scratched his head.
"I think he might have had her disqualified this year though. For slapping him. Aliens still don't take assault lightly."
Priss and Mouse
"I hope they win. Cos that girl...nasty emotional baggage she's carrying. Hasta win, no matter the cost. Blech. And Ike deserves to win." Mouse nodded firmly.
"Should I do a charm for thy friends, little one?" Priss asked Mouse in a sly tone.
"No. I think they'd prefer to win it on their own. And they could get kicked out, for cheating. Though somehow thinking magic ain't quite covered in the rules." Priss chuckled at that.
"Indeed."
Isaac, Zac and Miette
"I think it's preferable to win on our own merits," Isaac agreed. "But hey, thanks for thinking of us."
"Hey, Mi, what's that you've got there?" Zac asked suddenly. "Is that a rainbow crystal ring?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah, Ike bought it for me."
"Aww. Ain't that sweet?"
Isaac pulled a face at him.
Taylor
Taylor couldn't help a small twinge of jealousy at the fact that Ike had something for his girlfriend and he didn't. Even though he'd promised something to Mouse the next day, it wouldn't be Valentines Day anymore.
"¿Cuál el heck es yo que va a encontrar en seis AM por la mañana?" he murmured in Spanish (roughly translated to 'what the heck am I going to find at 6am in the morning?').
He shook his head and let it slip for the moment, not wanting Mouse to catch his urgency.
"So, did you get your girlfriends anything for Valentines Zac? Or wouldn't your type classify as a Valentine?" he grinned.
Mouse and Priss
Priss laughed at their good natured teasing. "Yes, this is surely what I miss most about travelling so much. But me and my sibs be together for the moment, and that be fine indeed. Valentine's day...I'd almost forgot. Dost thou think the commitee would mind if I altered their decorations, at least a little? Magick can be very helpful."
"Go ask. Can't hurt to do that." Mouse shrugged and Priss headed towards the stage.
"Oh, hush," Priss said crossly as Jacob glared at her. "I did not come to speak with thee. And thou should still apologise to Mouse." She waved her hand dismissingly at him. "Child, do not tempt me further, or I wilt show thee what she has suffered at the hands of one who walks through minds. Thee wouldst most assuredly break. She be stronger then thou." She smiled sweetly at him, before turning to the elder and dipping a graceful curtsey. "I be Priss, or the Weary Traveller. I be Bastet's daughter and a cat. Now, that formal introductions are out of the way, I would like to have your permission to alter the decor in honour of Valentine's day. Thy charges deserve a little fun, elder." She turned her head and looked over the crowd thoughtfully.
"Why not?" He smiled as Jacob glared harder.
"It be magick, thee shall see. And in morning's light, it wilt fade away like faery gold, made of cobwebs, dreams and glamour," she said softly before raising her cupped hands to her mouth and blowing on them. A cloud of sparkling dust flew through the hall, and soon hearts and flowers followed it. Hearts floated like bubbles and roses filled the air with their drowsy romantic scent. "Happy Valentine's day!" She called out to the surprised room. "A present, from one romantic to the others I know be there." She turned back and curtseyed again. "I must also apologise for my siblings behaviour earlier tonight. Thee would think that after sixty thousand years of life, they would know how to behave, but no. As immature as the day they came blind into the world. Sibs! Good night." She turned and walked down off the stage.
"Wow, pretty!" Mouse raised a hand to a floating heart and giggled as it burst against her palm. "Magic is very useful indeed!"
Taylor
"Impressionnant," Taylor grinned (meaning 'awesome').
He held out his hand to catch a heart, only for it to change direction and burst on his forehead. He chuckled.
"This is really weird," he admitted, looking around the room.
Isaac, Zac and Miette
"Aww, how sweet," Zac said, looking at all the hearts and flowers floating around the room.
"Yeah Zac," Isaac said, reaching out for a flower, "what did you get your girlfriends?"
"Nuffin'," Zac replied. "I have better things to do. Besides, I reckon it'll be fun to see which ones cough up a fuss because I didn't get 'em anything."
"That's a little mean," Miette said.
Zac shrugged.
Taylor
"Zac is mean," Taylor said pointedly, "if he wasn't he wouldn't be such a cheater and actually go out with one girl at a time."
He hesitated and looked at Mouse.
"What? So what if it won't happen? I can dream."
Priss and Mouse
"Knave," Priss said, frowning.
"Calm, Priss. He's just...Zac." Mouse shrugged.
"Inadequate," Priss said in clipped tones. "Not gentlemanly behaviour, in the slightest."
"Cat guy. Do you go off at Sabre? No. Leave Zac be."
"Sabre has the decency to conclude one relationship before continuing to the next one." Priss gave Zac a look of disdain.
"Ok, well, there's a problem. Please, Priss, just...ignore him or something. He's not gonna change soon." Mouse tried to make the peace. "Please?"
"As thee wills. I wilt not comment on it further." Priss seemed to listen again, and grinned. "Sabre and Nyx be heading back. They sent a few vamps back to hell. They be quite pleased with themselves."
Zac, Miette and Isaac
Zac stood up.
"I don't have to take your judgements on me," he said, directing it to everyone. "Not that it's any of your freaking business anyway, but I don't actually plan on getting any more girlfriends until I've broken up with the ones I have, and after that I'm only going to have one at a time."
He glowered at everyone, lifted the table partly off the ground as if planning on throwing it across the room, and then stormed off.
"Umm, I think we made him mad..." Miette said.
"Really?" Isaac asked good naturedly. "What gives you that idea?"
"Oh, I don't know," Miette joked. "I think it's the food on my shirt that got there after he tipped the table that did it."
Priss and Mouse
Priss stared after Zac, eyes wide. "Well then. I did not know my words would touch such a wound." Mouse winced beside her.
"You're telling me. I'm betting after that, any good empath is starting a headache."
"I better go make sure Nyx and Sabre do not cause more destruction to this convention. I will see thee later, perhaps? Till the morrow then. Farewell." Priss bent down to pick up her sibs stuff and hissed as she couldn't hold the guitar and their clothes. Mouse got up and took it. "Thank thee, sweet."
"I'll see you later, Tay. I'll just help Priss with this. Back soon." Mouse and Priss headed off, but Priss hesitated.
"Tell him, thy brother, that I am sorry for my ill considered words." She nodded at them and started off again with Mouse following.
