Storm
Storm shook her head, trying to clear the thoughts of sleep from her mind. She had been restless all night, not sleeping well, in fear of the information she had been told, so when Xavier summoned her, Logan and Scott to his office shortly before dawn, she'd been eager to go, but upon reaching his office, she just felt tired.
"I've been in Cerebro again, I've pinpointed their location to be somewhere around where Rogue said she was hiding."
"So if you talk to her, maybe she could tell you if she saw anything strange? Or read her mind maybe?" Storm's voice sounded groggy but she cleared her throat briskly, watching the others try to wake up.
"Maybe Logan, you could talk to her first, you might find she can open up to you. If there is nothing useful to be learned, I will read her mind."
Logan
"I somehow doubt she's up yet." Logan crossed his arms and fixed a steely glare at Xavier. "And why this couldn't have waited, I don't get. I'll talk to her. Can't promise nuthin', but I will talk to her. Is that it? Good. I'm going back to bed." Logan turned on his heel and stalked out.
Scott frowned and reached out to stop him, but Xavier touched his arm. "Let him go. Logan does not like early mornings. He will talk to her though, he always keeps his promises."
~*~*~*~
Later that morning, Logan got out of his bed and stalked down to the kitchen. Several students were sitting around the bench, chatting and eating. He ignored them all and headed straight to the coffee perculator. He poured a cup of black coffee out and sipped on it, feeling some of the tension leave him. Coffee was good. Then Rogue entered the room, and he straightened up. "Rogue? I need to talk to you." Again, Logan ignored the chattering of the students. None of their damn business. He sipped from his coffee. "Maybe we should take this somewhere more private?"
Rogue
"Umm, sure," Rogue said to him.
She opened up the cupboard and pulled out a museli bar.
"Where did you want to go?" she asked, opening it up. "And what is it about?"
She took a big bite out of the bar and chewed it, happy to have something in her stomach.
Logan
"Xavier wanted me to talk with you. About what happened last night. See if I can jog your memory, me knowin' so much about that an' all." Logan grimaced. Damn, why him? He didn't get this touchy-feely stuff. Xavier knew where they were, what was the problem in just going and killing the lot of them? If they're dead, it kinda put a cramp in their plans to wipe out mutants.
Rogue
"Oh, okay," Rogue replied, after another bit of her museli bar. "Well, umm, the library should be pretty quiet. Well, ah suppose it's always pretty quiet being a libray and all, but what ah mean is that there probably won't be anyone else in there at the moment."
Logan
Logan grinned as he swiped a breakfast pastry from the bench and refilling his coffee. "Lead on then." He glared around at the younsters. They just laughed, and he allowed a wry smile to quirk his lips. They were cute, he'd give them that. "So? We going?" He started towards the door.
Rogue
Rogue headed towards the library.
"So uhh, how exactly were you going to jog my memory?" she asked when they arrived.
Logan
"I have absolutely no idea," Logan admitted with a wry grin. "So, a description might start a flow of ideas. What was their hair colour, build, what were they wearing, what did they smell like, stuff like that."
Rogue
Rogue wrinkled her nose.
"Ah don't know... The... ah was thinking more about getting away..."
She sighed.
"It was dark. They both had dark hair. One was... five foot nine, the other... five foot eleven. The alley smelled like garbage. Oh what does it matter? They're both in the hosital in comas right now!"
Rogue was visibly upset.
Logan
"You did what you had to. Hey, at least they're still alive." Logan shrugged fluidly before draining the last of his coffee. "Pricks like that don't deserve your tears, Rogue. What say we find Xavier and tell him his idea was a bust?" He raised an eyebrow at her.
Rogue
"Ah don't just have the bad stuff they did in their lives in my head y'know," Rogue replied quietly. "Ah also have the good stuff. Their friends, their families. And ah I cry for myself 'cause I do have their rubbish in my head. Ah don't need that kind of evil in me."
She stood and nodded.
"Ah don't think ah'm going to remember much more. But if he wants, the Professor may have a look for himself.
Logan
"And why he didn't just do that in the first place..." Logan sighed and shook his head. "Not that I don't like talking to ya, just that this kinda stuff really isn't me. All mushy and...you get the picture." He grinned lopsidedly at her, and she smiled back tentaviley. Good. "So, I'll let you get ready for class and I'll go tell the professor that it didn't work." Logan turned to go, paused and then looked back. "Do you see any of my past in your head? You know, the stuff from before?"
Rogue
Rogue shook her head.
"Ah only remember what you remember," she replied. "Ah guess ah'll talk to ya later."
Giving a small wave, Rogue departed the library.
Logan
Logan nodded sadly. He hadn't thought so. She would have told if she'd seen anything...Suddenly gripped by a dark rage, Logan slammed out of the school, stealing Cyclop's motorbike and taking off. He needed to fight someone...
~*~*~*~
Logan walked back into the school, cursing his healing factor as even the last twinges of his brawls faded. He'd wanted to feel it, keep knowing that he wasn't helpless. Was quite the opposite in fact. He started looking for Xavier - surely he'd have a plan by now. Logan needed to be doing, not waiting. He found the professor teaching a physics classs and slipped in at the back. Xavier just gave him a calm look and kept on teaching.
"So, we got a plan?" Logan asked tersely as the students left.
"One must never rush into these things," Xavier replied calmly. He wheeled towards the door and started down the corridor. "Are you joining us for lunch?"
Logan bit back the urge to scream at Xavier's calmness and stalked after him.
Storm
Storm sat at the table, talking with Scott when Xavier and Logan entered the room. She greeted them with a small smile, but shot them both inquisitive looks. She waited until they sat down before asking questions.
"So what's happening... are we attacking?"
