3 February 2003 - Welcome to Roswell

Julie/Isabel

Julie was somewhat amazed at just how fast her father had managed to arrange the move. It had only been two weeks since she had told them about her pregnancy, and yet here they were, in Roswell, although admittedly, her mother and her sister Dana were still in Tulsa, arranging the last of the packing that needed to be done, with the help of some family friends.

Julie, her father and her brother Frank had arrived at their new house only half an hour before. It had been opened, and now the first truck had arrived. Julie was helping only a little as her father wouldn't let her carry anything heavy. What was his problem?

She sighed in annoyance. She felt so helpless right now, and the dirty looks from Frank (who didn't really understand at all, except that he was being taken from his friends and it was all Julie's fault) didn't exactly make her feel better.

"Hello," said a friendly voice.

Julie turned and saw a smiling face peering over the fence.

"Hi," she replied.

"I'm Isabel, and I guess we're neighbours now."

Julie smiled.

"I'm Julie."

"Where'd you move from?"

"Tulsa, Oklahoma."

"Oh really? I just visited some friends there the other week. Some coincidence huh?"

"Yeah," Julie agreed.

Max

Max saw his sister up the road, talking to a very pretty girl.

"Hey Izzy, who's you friend?" He asked.

"Oh, this is Julie, she's just moved here, from Tulsa. Max, Julie, Julie, this is my brother Max."

"Nice to meet you, Julie," Max said, as he shook her hand. What brings you here?"

Julie

Julie felt a little uncomfortable telling complete strangers they moved because she got pregnant.

"My Dad got offered a job here," she replied, which was part of the truth. "So, how long have you two lived here for?"

Max

Max looked at his sister and smiled.

"For as long as we can remember," he replied, which was basically true. They didn't remember coming out of their pods when they were little. Besides, they had technically landed in Roswell.

"It was nice to meet you, Julie," Isabel said. "If you ever need anybody to talk to, or just want to hang out, I'm just down the street," Isabel pointed about two houses down. "The big one over there."

"We've got to get going now," Max said, "But it was really nice to meet you." Shaking her hand again, they began to walk back to their house.

Julie

"Bye," Julie said, waving.

"Julie!" called her father. "Who were you talking to?"

"The neighbours, Dad. Isabel and Max."

"Hmph. Well, get back over here, would you?"

"Okay."

And a little annoyed, Julie moved closer to the house, but not so close that her father would yell at her to get out of the way. She sighed. He seemed so darn full of double standards these days.
