Nyx
Nyx roamed down the street, the people from Sunnydale, and this new guy Clark Kent behind her. Oh, it was a lovely night! Countryside everywhere meant lots of mice, and good hunting. The night air was cool on her face, every other inch of her more or less covered by tight black leather, and her duster swirling around her ankles. She caught a flicker of movement to her left and turned slightly before being bowled over by another person. "Oof!" She went down hard, nose scenting something famailar as she hit the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
"Slipping, ye are, Niss." The man laughed in her ear, and a disbelieving grin spread over her face as she stopped fighting seriously but swiped at his face anyway.
"Nyx!" Spike yelled out, worried before he heard her laughing and the two embattled figures rolled over the ground.
"I am not, you Irish wannabe!"
"Oh, yeah? Beat me then!" He shifted into a cat form, his clotheds ripping and with a playful growl, Nyx did the same. Soon the two similiar cats were playing a game of tag all over the path, rolling all over each other. The others watched amazed as the one they knew was Nyx pinned down the larger one, and bit down on its ear gently, both cats purring. They shifted upwards back into human, Nyx sprawled over the slightly taller man. "So, Niss me girl, who are ye hunting with now?"
"Sabre, you are a dolt." Nyx bit down on his neck, then gave his face a loving lick. He purred and returned the favour before the two stood up. "Guys, this is my bro, Sabre."
"And very pleased to meet ye all, to be sure." Saber looked over at the pile of their clothes, and snickered. "Niss, I think we may have sent our clothes to tha rag bin."
"Ack, not my duster!" Nyx ran over to the clothes and fussed, while Sabre crossed his arms and eyed her companions, not at all fazed by his unclothed state. He was a few inches taller then Nyx, just as pale as she was, and his hair was as black, curling in loose waves down to his shoulders. His eyes were a startling dark amber colour though.
Dru/Dawn/Clark
"Sabey!" Dru cried out ran into his arms! "It's been so long! Since I was a baby in Grandmummy's arms, and Daddy was eating my family." Clark was a little confused by this.
"Dru, princess, you mean you know this lad?"
"Aye, me boyo. Dru and I went dancing long ago, before you were even born the first time." Dawn laughed, she loved hearing vampires and Old Ones discuss siring, they way they talked about it really made it sound like a second birthing.
"Niss, me dear, who are your friends? they smell so nice!" Sabre said, "This one, like vanilla and cinnamon, and that one, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, are you the Key? You smell like chaos, it's intoxicating, Niss, I see why you keep her around," Sabre chuckled, but then he got a good whiff of Clark, and jumped back, hissing. "But that one, he smells like lightening! Like the atmosphere during a storm. Makes me skin prickle, he does. Not sure yet if I like it. He doesn't smell human. What are ye, boyo?" he asked, accusingly.
"Um, I'm an alien." Clark said, hesitantly, and Sabre visibly relaxed.
"Aye, that explains it. I didn't think ye were a demon. So, what is the dark goddess doing with little girls, but not eating them?" he asked, wondering.
"Nyx and I were sent to protect them. That's the Slayer's little sister, that 'un, and the other is a Slayer in Waiting. Somebody wants to nick 'em, so we were sent out here." Clark's head was still spinning, this whole thing was really rather insane. He could tell that the next day would be very odd, because Dawn and Amanda were coming to school with his, as his 'cousins,' from California.
"Could this night get any crazier?" Clark asked, mostly to himself, but loud enough for everyone to hear. Hearing that, Dawn groaned, and slapped him upside the head.
"Why'd you hafta say that, doofus? Now you've jinxed us, and something'll probably attack before we even get home." Dawn sighed.
Nyx
"Sabre!" Nyx wailed angrily, standing up from rummaging through their ripped pile of clothing where she'd been assessing the damage. "You ripped my knickers beyond repair! Do you have any idea how long it took me to find a black velvet G-string with matching bra?" She demanded furiously, getting up in his face and brandishing a scrap of black velvet. The teenagers' jaws dropped and they all blushed. The vampires laughed. Sabre shrugged and spread his hands.
"Uh, sorry?"
"You are so lucky Mum frowns on me kicking your pansy ass," Nyx hissed at him. "I liked those!" She turned back to their clothing and wriggled her fingers over them, chanting a string of Egyptian words. The clothes sparked, and then settled. "I hate you. I hate you so *much*." She slipped the now mended underwear on and continued to scold him as the two cats re-dressed.
"Ye couldn't anyway. Ye know it."
"Uh huh. That's why you were the one on your back, with *my* teeth at your throat?"
"Ye still dancing?" Sabre ducked the topic.
"Can you think of a better way to earn about a thou a night, and getting a lovely sexual charge to go with it? Course I am! New York is good, if you're heading out there." Nyx slid her arms into her duster and settled it over her shoulders with a fluid shrug. She glanced around at the other people, and raised an eyebrow. "Well?"
"You what?" Spike asked slowly.
"I *dance*. Get up on the stage, shake my lil' booty, take off clothes. In a human club, we'd earn, what, a hundred a night plus tips?" Sabre nodded as he pulled his top ovew his head. "This is solo rates, of course. But dancing in a vamp club, f'r instance, we'd get five hundred a night, plus very large tippage beacue we're living. Vamps find it very hard not to snack on the entertainment, but me and Sabre can handle ourselves. Try the Shades, when you go up. Benedict knows us, so just tell him you're my bro, and you'll get a job easy."
"Um, before, you mentioned a sexual charge? What's with that?" Amanda asked slowly, slightly weirded out and disgusted look on her face.
"I'll field that one for ye, Niss girl." Nyx nodded and patted her duster over for her smokes. Sabre crossed his arms, slightly defensive. "Bastet is the goddess of music, dancing, and all fine pursuits like that. Another lil' thing that she looks after is sexual pleasure. So, me and my sisters, we go out into an atmospere like that, especially when it's directed at us, and it's like, oh jaysus, how to put this?" He and Nyx shared a helpless glance. They didn't usually explain what they were and how stuff affected them, but these kids were so eager to know them.
"It's like getting a shock of energy right through your brain, sparkling and ripping through you." Nyx half closed her eyes, small smile playing over her lips. "Like living in a rainbow."
"A small taste of paradise." Sabre quirked a smile. "It's quite the trip."
Dawn
Dawn smiled, it sounded divine. Finally Clark spoke up.
"So, Sabre, they're all staying at my house, do you want to go back there with us?" After Nyx had magically mended all her clothing, they had started walking back. Dawn had sort of held back a bit, so that she could walk next to Clark. When she was sure that nobody was looking, she slipped her hand into his, hoping that neither of her 'bodyguards' would get all protective of her. She had finally found a guy who could accept her for who she was, and didn't freak about the mystical aspects of her life. And Clark was practically in paradise. He had finally found a pretty girl whom he could be completely open and honest with. Unlike with Lana and Chloe, there were no more secrets to be had. Even with with Kyla, they had kept secrets from each other, and she knew he was an alien.
Nyx
Nyx smiled as she saw Dawn's hand slip hesitantly into Clarke's, and the resulting flare of arousal sent ripples through her spine. Sabre nudged her, and she shushed him. This was good. Although she would have loved to have had a taste of the Key, it was better that she could settle with someone who could stay. Nyx would move on, sooner or later, as her paws started to itch and the mortals she knew grew older around her. She didn't like to watch that, or remind them that she was different to them. She dropped back a bit, and nudged Clark with her shoulder. He looked up at her, startled and his hand tightned around Dawn's, who was looking at Nyx like the girl wished the immortal would just drop dead. "Settle, sweetie. You hurt her, I hunt you down wherever you are, and make you wish you'd never been dropped on this planet. What I've picked up in the thousands of years I've lived, I'll use 'em all if you hurt her. Have a good life, Dawnie." With a final pat on Clarke's shoulder, letting her claws touch his skin ever so briefly, she moved back up to her brother's side.
