23 December 2003 - I blame you

Tegan and Michelle

Mordred

Mordred stalked through the campsite, eyes flickering gold at points. He found Scott, walked right up to him and sent him flying with one punch.

Scott

Scott blinked and laid there stunned for a moment, then glowered at Mordred.

"Mordred Llewyn," he glowered. "What the hell is the meaning of this?"

Mordred

"What the hell is the meaning of this?" Mordred growled back.

"You bloody self righteous prick!"

Mordred punched him again.

"You know what happened to Gwen after you sent her home, you bastard?"

Scott

Scott lifted his arms to defend himself.

"No, I don't know," Scott replied. "And you will cease this violent behaviour immediately, young man."

Mordred

"F*ck you," Mordred spat.

"It's your f*cking fault! I said I wouldn't kill you, and I won't. But I'm going to hurt you a hell of a lot, Scott. She was *raped*, because you sent her home."

MOrdred snarled, incensed by actually saying it out loud. He punched Scott again, and listened with grim pleasure as his nose broke.

Scott

Scott gave a yell and put his hands to his nose.

"That's not my fault! I can't predict the future any more than you can. I had no way of knowing what would happen. I'm sorry she was raped, Mordred, but that's no reason to take it out on me."

Mordred

"The hell it isn't," Mordred said.

He punched Scott again.

Scott

Scott staggered and began to back away.

"No it's not my fault. Yes, I sent her home. But I didn't rape her, nor did I ring anyone up and say 'Hey, you wanna rape someone?'. Do not blame me for lifes misfortunes."

Mordred and Logan

Mordred glared.

"If you weren't such a stickler for the rules, which you know, didn't really apply to her, she wouldn't have been there in the first place."

He stalked towards Scott, bristling with anger and eyes starting to glow gold. Logan reached out and spun him around. Mordred sank a fist into the other mutant's gut and 'ported away. Logan started to stalk him.

"I suggest you get outta here, Scooter."

Scott

Scott gave a relived nod and walked off to locate a first aid kit. He'd have to get to a hospital too, by the feel of things.

Mordred and Logan

"Calm down, kid," Logan insisted, grabbing onto Mordred's arm before he teleported after Scott.

"LET BLOODY GO OF ME!"

Mordred struck out at Logan and cried out in pain as his fist met Logan's.

Scott

"Mordred* why don't you just go back to New York?" Scott said coldly. "You can consider yourself expelled."

He turned his back on him, crawled inside the tent and fished out the first aid kit.

Mordred and Logan

"The f*ck I'd want to stay somewhere I'd see you everyday, bastard," Mordred said.

He struggled against Logan, hitting out wildly.

Logan sighed, holding the hysterical young man against going and killing Scott with his bare hands.

"Not helping, Cyke."

"Let me the f*ck go!"

"Not until you calm down, and I don't think you're going to kill him anymore."

Mordred laughed, turning wild eyes on Logan.

"Think you can protect him against a teleporter, Wolverine?"

Scott

Scott pulled out what he needed and started to clean himself up as best he could, before coming back out of the tent.

"Point taken," he said to Logan quietly. "Mordred just* it's sound like Gwen could use your presense right now. Better off spending this energy looking after her than taking it out on me."

Mordred and Logan

"F*ck you, arsehole," Mordred spat.

He shook Logan off violently and dove for Scott again. Logan punched him and Mordred slid across the ground.

"Go, kid," Logan said.

"Really don't want to have to beat you senseless."

Scott

"I'm going to get down to the hospital," Scott said. "Mind letting Jean know for me, Logan?"

He didn't look at Mordred.

Mordred and Logan

"Will do, Cyke," Logan said.

Mordred slowly got to his feet, mouth bleeding and eye black.

"F*ck you both. Hope you f*cking die on your next mission."

He spat on the ground, then disappeared back to New York.

Logan sighed and looked at Scott.

"Can't blame him though. Imagine if it happened to Jeannie."

Scott

"I don't blame him for being upset," Scott replied. "I most certainly would be too. I, however, would not try to pass the blame onto other people who had no idea what consequences their decision might cause."

Logan

"He just wants to blame someone...you were an easy target," Logan said.

"Go get yourself cleaned up, Cyke. I just hope he doesn't get caught when he kills the guy."

Scott

Scott nodded.

"Thanks," he said.

Then he left, but not without a slight limp.
