Medea

Medea was grounding some herbs in the back room when she heard the door chime ring. Reluctantly, she stood up, black dress blillowing around her legs and walked into the front of the shop.

"Can I help you?"

Kirk

Kirk looked up.

"You tell me," he smiled.

He began to look around.

"So... what brings you to Tulsa?"

Medea

Medea sat down on a stood behind the counter.

"Nothing, and yet everything," she replied. "Let's just say I felt to come here. Why do you ask?"

Kirk

Kirk shrugged.

"Just a general welcome. Your business is your own if you wish to keep it that way."

He picked up something from a shelf and looked it over before putting it back.

"I know a lot of people in Tulsa," he began again, "just like to meet the newcomers."

Medea

"I see," Medea replied.

She watched him thoughtfully. A dangerous young man. But dangerous to her? Yet to be determind.

"I'm Medea, and yourself?"

Kirk

"Steel," Kirk nodded to himself, gazing around.

"Nice name... Medea... So how's business?"

Medea

Medea smiled, thinking of the whole Alexa thing.

"Business is very good."

Will be even better in a few weeks when she can check up on the inevitable pregnancy.

Kirk

"Well... good."

Kirk put another bottle back on the shelf.

"Where are you from? If you don't mind me asking."

Medea

"Greece," Medea replied. "What about yourself? Or have you lived in Tulsa all your life?"

Kirk

"Born here and will probably die here," Kirk shrugged.

"But don't get me wrong - I've been out of the city. And the country. But I have to come back to keep up with everything going on."

He scratched at a part in his spikey mohawk.

Medea

Medea nodded thoughtfully.

"Indeed," she said. "And what is going on?"

Kirk

"In short? Everything," Kirk chuckled.

"But I respect the privacy of everyone I know."

Medea

"Ahh, a friend indeed," Medea smiled.

She leant on the counter.

"Well, then, anything catching your eye?"

Kirk

"Maybe..." Kirk frowned slightly.

"You sure have a lot of stuff. Might have to come back later."

He checked his watch.

Medea

Medea nodded.

"Of course. Well, it was very nice of you to drop in. Call back any time."

Kirk

"I will, Medea," Kirk nodded with a smile.

"Good luck with your... business ventures. If you need anything give me a call."

He handed her a card with a friend's phone number.

"Black market these days is pretty hectic. Christmas time, you see."

Medea

Medea took the card.

"Of course," she said. "Thank you, Steel."

Black market, hmm?

Kirk

"Midnight market too, if you're willing," Kirk grinned, seeing the look in her eyes.

"Good day Medea."

And he left.

Medea

Medea watched him leave, considering, then headed out the back again.

"Let's see what my magics have to say about Steel," she murmured.

She sat down and began to work a spell.
