Ewan and Natalia
Ewan stirred and Natalia snuggled closer to him, eyes still closed.
Human again...and where the hell were they?
Ewan sat up slightly and looked around. His fingers smoothed along his side...bandages. Not that they were nessacary now. Natalia had bandages on as well. He frowned slightly, remembering jagged and disjointed images of last night.
"Bonny...g'ie wake now," he said softly.
Natalia rolled over and looked up at him, legs spread wide. He chuckeld slightly and kissed her gently.
"We dinna have time for tha'. Let's find a way out of here before our hosts decide to pay us a welcome."
She nodded and rose to her feet. The two werewolves padded around silently. Ok, no windows. Natalia found an overlarge sweatshirt and put that on.
Ewan stared at the door in consternation. The only way out was that door.
"Oh, fock," he said sincerely.
Natalia rubbed her head alongside his shoulder.
"I dinna like this, a'tall."
"Me neither. I don't like caged spaces."
Oz
Oz could hear movement downstairs, so he signalled to Anya, Andrew and the Slayers, and headed down. He opened the door slowly.
"Hmm."
Ewan, Natalia and Andrew
Ewan moved in front of Natalia protectively and snarled.
"Ewan..." Natalia said, putting her hand on his shoulder as she stared up at Oz with her uncanny violet eyes.
"Bonny..."
"Pffft, alpha! Calm down."
Ewan raised an eyebrow at her.
"We've been hunted and shot at since mid November, we wake up somewhere we dinna ken, and I dinna like the smell of, and you say, calm down?"
"Well, be polite at least," Natalia said reasonably.
"If he is."
Ewan glared at Oz again.
"Shhhhh..." Natalia murmured, running her hands down his shoulders and biting softly at his neck.
He calmed slightly, but still regarded Oz with a deep and abiding suspicion.
"Are they awake?" Andrew asked, coming to the stairs with Oz.
"I see they are. I'll...go find some clothes."
Andrew left again hurriedly, and the two werewolves barked a laugh.
Oz and Anya
Oz cleared his throat slightly, sniffing again.
"He's a werewolf too... or he was. Apparently he can control it. But I don't have too much faith in that, so that's why I keep the tranks around him," Anya supplied.
"Hmmm," Oz said non committedly, turning around and going upstairs.
Ewan and Natalia
Ewan snarled again and Natalia rolled her eyes.
"Males. Possessive, protective..."
"Mate. Hush nae."
"I think not. So, control huh? Interesting. We're just kinda running and so on. Don't really know that much about the werewolf gig, per sey. Just silver hurts, and we go grr."
Ewan rolled his neck around on his shoulders slightly, watching Anya with wary wild eyes.
"Ignore him, do."
Anya
"Well, when Andrew comes back with some clothes, come upstairs," Anya said. "Can't have the Slayers seeing you naked."
She paused.
"And you can get something to eat too. And the hunter probably won't be around for awhile. Oz took care of that last night."
Ewan, Natalia and Andrew
"That would be guid," Ewan said.
He nodded sharply.
"Thank ye."
"Here...I borrowed some stuff from one of the girls for her and some of Devon's stuff for you," Andrew said as he came to the top of the stairs and started down them carefully, eyes averted.
"He's cute," Natalia commented.
"Feeling wolfish, puppy?"
"Bonny, shh," Ewan said with amusement as Andrew's head whipped around in shock.
"She's kidding."
"Who said I was?"
"Insanity didn't suit you last time."
"Well, that wasn't exactly my fault."
"Nay."
A cold rage settled over Ewan's features for a moment, then disappeared.
"And thanks for disposing of the hunter. That's one of them at least."
"He was the closest, we might be able to ditch them all if we move quickly," Natalia said thoughtfully.
"There were more then one?" Andrew asked as he handed the clothes to Ewan then escaped up the stairs.
"At least five others we saw at various times," Ewan said.
Oz and Anya
Oz nodded to Ewan as they came up the stairs.
"You should watch out for the Initiative too, if they haven't already caught sight of you."
"Yeah, bunch of army sceience guys," Anya said. "They love to experiment."
Natalia and Ewan
"Been there, done that," Natalia singsonged as they started to dress.
"For a long, long time..."
"How I got wolfed," Ewan said.
"Bastard wanted to watch the lycanthropy develop or some shite like that. Killed the kid who wolfed me."
"My fault," Natalia whispered.
"He wanted me back...well, he wanted the other back, but we were just a lucky bonus."
Ewan kissed her softly and she sighed, eyes sad.
"I'm never letting him get a hold of you again. If we find him...I'm going to kill him."
"Good."
Anya and Oz
Anya nodded.
"Right, well, we'll get you food and then send you on your way."
"Anya," Oz started.
"What? I don't want more werewolves haning around. You're bad enough."
"Thanks."
"It's true, Devon's bad too. He and the random girls he brings into my house for sex."
Ewan and Natalia
"Can smell it," Ewan murmured.
"We just want to go," Natalia said.
"Too cooped up, too small..."
She shuddered slightly and withdrew into Ewan's side.
"But I want to see the mansion before we go. I need to see Sergei."
"Fine, bonny. We'll do that today, then go."
Anya and Oz
"Right well... um... Andrew will cook some breakfast," Anya offered.
Oz quirked an eyebrow, but then went to go wake the rest of the household up.
Ewan and Natalia
Ewan and Natalia came up the stairs and followed Anya through to the kitchen where Andrew was already cooking breakfast.
"So, how did you come to New York?" Andrew asked.
"Running," Ewan said succintly.
"We were up in Canada," Natalia said quietly.
"And then people started shooting, and they didn't go away so we ran. We're very big on not dying."
Anya
"As am I. I like living. It's fun at times, with the sex and the money," Anya said, nodding.
She perched herself down on a seat.
"But if you're ever in the area again, you're welcome to lay low here."
Natalia, Ewan and Andrew
"Thanks," Natalia said.
Ewan nodded slowly.
"Here," Andrew said, starting to serve out food.
Natalia lounged back into Ewan's side, watching Oz thoughtfully. He was...intriguing. Ewan watched Oz but with a far different type of thought. He could feel that Oz was another alpha, and that made him wary and protective of Natalia, who was *far* too interested in the other male for his liking.
"Thank ye," Ewan said, taking a plate from Andrew.
"So, you're Scottish?" Andrew said, hunting for a topic of conversation.
"Aye."
"So, how you'd get out here?"
"Backpacking, how else? I was human at th' time though...I'm a photographer."
Ewan frowned slightly.
"Or was. That's going to be interesting..."
Oz and Anya
Oz sat down next to Anya and made a non committal grunting sound as Andrew set the plate in front of him.
"Thank you Andrew," Anya said.
Andrew, Natalia and Ewan
"S'ok," Andrew said.
He served Anya next.
"So, what exactly is the deal here?" Natalia asked.
She looked at Kennedy.
"And what exactly are you all? He's human," she said, looking at Andrew.
"But the rest of you aren't quite."
"Hey alls!" Devon said cheerfully as he entered the room.
"Andrew, my man, smells fantastic!"
He reorientated and his head turned quickly to look at Natalia.
"And hey, cutie."
Ewan growled slightly.
Anya and Kennedy
"Super human, a Vampire Slayer," Kennedy said. "Most of us are."
"I'm an ex Vengeance Demon," Anya put in. "Oz is an ex werewolf, and Devon's just bait."
"Hey!"
"A human," Anya amended.
Natalia and Ewan
"Slayers..."
Natalia shook her head slightly.
"I sort of remember something about that..."
She sighed.
"It was so much easier when I only knew about mutants."
Ewan snorted.
"And here's me, just human an' all dumped in the middle of it."
"So, what are you?" Andrew asked.
"Mutant," Natalia said.
Violets bloomed on the table.
"I grow violets. Decorative, but useless."
Kennedy, Oz and Anya
"But pretty," Kennedy piped up. "I like violets."
Oz sneezed with the new scent of the violets entering his nostrils.
"Excuse me," he said softly, then went back to eating.
"Yes, it is a nicer smell than the pot you guys smoke up in your room," Anya said to Devon.
Natalia
Devon pouted at her.
"But, Anya!"
Natalia's lip quirked up in an amused smile, then she banished the violets with a slight wave of her hand.
"I'd much happier as a werewolf...I can actually protect myself."
Her eyes suddenly took on the appearance of almost bruises in her face, deep and full of pain.
Anya and Oz
"That pout holds no power. If I were still a demon, I would make horrible things happen to you, like have your parts fall off," Anya told Devon.
Oz chuckled slightly.
"Being a werewolf was good for that reason," he said softly.
Andrew and Ewan
Devon moved behind Andrew.
"Ok...insanely scary woman. Protect me, Andrew."
Andrew chuckled slightly.
"I Watch, Devon."
"So, you're going to watch her attack me? Some kind of friend you are," Devon huffed.
Ewan carded his fingers slowly through Natalia's long blonde hair, watching the interaction with a guarded watchfulness.
Anya and Oz
"When I get my powers back, you will suffer, Devon. And you too Oz, don't think I've forgotten about you," Anya threatened.
"What did I do?" Oz asked, looking up.
"Don't think I forgot what you did to Willow."
"Oh," Oz looked down in shame.
Natalia, Ewan and Andrew
Natalia looked at Oz again thoughtfully.
"History, everyone's got a history," she commented quietly.
"Some of us more then most," Ewan said.
"Too true, too true."
Devon looked at Andrew.
"Can you give us a heads up at least if she becomes a demon again?"
"Probably not," Andrew said.
"Because then she'd be mad at me."
Anya and Kennedy
Anya grinned evilly.
"When I get my powers back you will all grovel."
Kennedy raised an eyebrow.
"I won't."
"No, you won't. But you're not a man. Men are evil."
"I see."
Natalia and Ewan
"Oh yes, they are," Natalia said.
"'Cept for Ewan."
"Thanks for excluding me from that," Ewan said.
"Always, my knight."
Anya and Oz
"If he hurts you, let me know," Anya offered.
"I hope you don't become a demon again," Oz said softly.
Anya smiled and took a sip of her coffee.
"Yeah, watch out."
Natalia and Ewan
"He's not going to," Natalia said softly.
"Why is it that people always think I'm going to hurt you?" Ewan asked plaintively.
"Because...I'm so innocent looking. And if you remember, I was insane when we met," Natalia said.
Anya, Kennedy and Oz
"Men are evil," Anya said again.
"Weren't you engaged?" Kennedy asked.
"Yes, and he was evil too," Anya replied. "But the sex was good."
Oz coughed.
Natalia and Ewan
Natalia moved into Ewan's lap and laid her head against his chest. He stroked her hair slowly and her eyes halfclosed.
"Evil, evil men," she sighed.
"We're not all evil," Devon protested.
She looked at him.
"I've known more evil men then good ones."
Anya and Oz
"Maybe not obviously evil," Anya said, looking at Devon. "But scratch the surface of any guy and you'll find more surface."
Oz raised an eyebrow, but said nothing.
Natalia, Ewan and Andrew
"But, but," Devon protested.
"Shh. The women have spoken," Natalia said, lacing her fingers together.
"That's kind of hint that ye should be quiet before ye get yerself into more trouble," Ewan said helpfully.
"Hard for Devon to do," Andrew said.
Anya and Oz
"It's why you should just not talk, like Oz," Anya said. "I like him because he's quiet."
"Thanks," Oz replied.
"Shhhh."
Natalia and Ewan
"Laconic can be good," Natalia agreed.
"Ewan doesn't usually say much. It's good, since I don't normally talk much either."
"You done?" Ewan murmured into her ear.
She nodded and the werewolves stood.
"Thank you for what you've done, but we better go."
Anya and Oz
"No problem," Anya said. "Well, it was, because we had to close the club early which means less money, but that's ok."
"No problem," Oz said again.
Natalia and Ewan
"Thanks."
Ewan and Natalia followed Andrew to the front door and left quietly.
They got their clothes from the warehouse and their small belongings then turned their path towards Canada.
