15 December 2003 - Wolf Hunting

Tegan and Nessa

Natalia and Ewan

Natalia shivered and pressed up against Ewan's side as they crouched in an abadoned warehouse.

"You think we lost him?"

"I hope so," Ewan said grimly.

They waited for the moon to rise.

When it did they left quickly, and slunk through the streets, getting mistaken for very large and agressive dogs. They padded past a club and then Ewan whirled, lips raised.

A bullet whizzed past their heads.

The two werewolves broke and ran.

Ewan yipped and whined as a bullet struck his shoudler.

MATE! Natalia wailed.

She nuzzled his shoulder for a moment, then they scrambled over a wall.

More bullets pinged against the brick of the house, leaving shiny metallic streaks behind them as the silver bullets grazed the rough brick.

GO! RUN! Ewan snarled.

Can't! No! she protested.

RUN NOW!

Ewan turned, hackles raised to face the one who had dared hunt his Pack.

Oz

Oz sniffed the air and sat up in his couch, controlling his wolfish powers.

"Blood," he said absently, standing up.

He went outside and started to track where the smell was coming from.

Werewolves.

Natalia and Ewan

Ewan crouched, Natalia whining softly behind him.

You know, when I tell you to run, I expect you to do so.

Like I'm going to leave you here. Not likely.

Damn it.

His tail flicked uneasily as he looked around for a place to hide.

That way. Go.

Ewan nudged her with his nose and the two ran.

The hunter watching them cursed as he worked to reload his gun. A white pelt would be worth much more then any other, especially if as he thought it was a female. Much in demand and extremely rare.

Natalia yipped and jumped into the air as a bullet struck the ground at her feet.

Look, couldn't you have just run when I asked you to? Ewan said in frustration.

And where would be the fun in that?

You think this is FUN?!

No, this is terrifying. Having a dead Pack Leader and Mate would be no fun.

They skidded around the corner of the house and stopped dead as they saw Oz. Ewan snarled, paw held high as blood dripped from his shoulder. Natalia glanced backwards, turning around as Ewan bared his teeth at Oz.

Wolf but not.

Can we worry about that *after* we escape with our skins intact?

Oz and Anya

"Anya?" Oz called out. "Can you bring the tr - "

Anya came out, toting a trank gun, saw the wolves and froze.

"I would like to be inside right now, I'll get Andrew."

"Don't move," Oz said.

Ewan, Natalia and Andrew

Ewan snarled at Anya, sensing the situation rapidly getting out of control.

Start to back off. Now.

And hunter!

We can't run here. We have to run.

Right, let's go then.

The two wolves started to edge backwards, Ewan growling and snapping his jaws at Oz and Anya.

"What's going on?" Andrew asked as he came to the door of the club.

He froze when he saw the wolves.

"Right. And it would be the full moon tomorrow night making these dogs not actually dogs but wolves..."

Natalia's purple eyes gleamed eerily in the light of the street lamp, set in her white fur.

The hunter sighted carefully along the sight of his rifle, waiting until he got a clear shot. So close, just back out a bit farther...

Natalia backed out onto the street, ears laid flat against her skull and then yelped in pain and shot back inside the alleyway. Blood trickled from a wound on her side and Ewan went nuts as she slumped to the ground.

Oz and Anya

Oz ran after the hunter, and smashed his face in with his own gun, leaving him unconscious and bleeding on the road.

Hunters, he'd had enough of them.

Anya shot Ewan with the trank gun, and then looked to Andrew.

"We'll need to get them inside... just in the back."

Andrew and Natalia

"Right, right," Andrew said.

Natalia whined softly, eyes gleaming with pain as she nudged the unconscious Ewan's side with her muzzle.

"Uh...should I get one of the Slayers? Them being possessed of great strength and all."

He looked at the white wolf and she gazed back, panting slightly. He took the gun off Anya and carefully shot Natalia with the tranq. She slumped onto the ground, eyes closed.

"Well...I suppose we take them in for now and then find out who they are in the morning," Andrew said.

Anya, Kennedy and Oz

"KENNEDY!" Anya called. "CAN YOU AND ANOTHER GIRL COME OUT PLEASE?"

Kennedy and another Slayer appeared seconds later, looking unimpressed, but quickly shifted into Slayer mode when they saw the wolves.

"Take them into the back room," Anya ordered.

Oz came round the corner, panting slightly.

Andrew

"Oz, you alright?" Andrew asked in concern.

"Did you find out who was shooting at them?"

The two Slayers started to drag the wolves inside.

"Careful with them, they got shot," he said.

Oz

"Werewolf hunter..." Oz panted, then took a deep breath.

"But I don't think he'll be back for awhile."

Andrew

"Good."

Andrew nodded.

"So...let's go back to making money. They won't wake up for a while."

Anya

Anya nodded and ushered the others inside.

"Someone should see to the bullet wound though."

Andrew

"I will," Andrew volountered.

He went to get the first aid kit, then let himself into the backroom with the unconscious werewolves. He bandaged them up quickly, after digging the silver bullets out of them. He washed his hands free of blood anf fur, then came back inside.

"Should we close early tonight? Don't know how long the tranqs will hold on the big red one."

Anya

"Yeah."

Anya announced it was closing time and within an hour, everyone had cleared out of the club.

"WHat should we do with them?" Anya asked, lifting the trank gun up.

Andrew

"I...don't know," Andrew admitted.

"We could put them in the basement. In case they wake up. It's more secure then this room."

The two werewolves slept on.

"And I don't want to have to deal with them if they do wake up. At least until they're human. Oz, any ideas?"

Oz and Kennedy

Oz shrugged.

"Put them in the basement."

Kennedy and the other Slayer went about dragging them down to the basement.

Andrew

"Right, bed then?" Andrew suggested as the Slayer locked the door and put a chair up beneath the knob of the door.

"Anyone feel like sitting up?"

Anya and Kennedy

Anya shrugged.

"I will, I suppose."

Kennedy nodded.

"Then I will too. You'll need strength in case... something happens."

Andrew

"Good idea."

Andrew sighed and looked at the closed and bolted door.

"Well, I'm going to bed. Be glad to watch if someone gets tired."

He started off to bed.

Anya and Kennedy

Anya settled herself down on a chair and hugged the trank gun.

"If you hear someone screaming... it's probably me."

Kennedy rolled her eyes and sat down next to Anya, taking the gun from her.
