Leroy and Tanya
"Soooo... Leroy?"
"Mmm?"
"Have you told Walker you've accepted yet?"
Leroy blinked.
"You know... the job on the council? Wow, if you're going to be this forgetful maybe you shouldn't take it."
"Umm... oops?"
Tanya chuckled.
"Actually... until you mentioned it, I thought I had told him," Leroy mused.
"You're getting senile, obviously."
"Very funny."
"All that stress isn't good you know."
"Now, you of all people should know that I am a lot less stressed than I used to be."
Tanya nodded slowly.
"True. Taking on the station turned out to be pretty good for your health."
Leroy smiled.
"Thanks for reminding me," then Leroy snapped his fingers. "Ah ha! I know what it was!"
"Oh?"
"I tried to call him a while ago, but he wasn't available and for some reason afterwards I was thinking I told him. Yep, it's all good."
Tanya laughed.
"Well, might I suggest you call him now?"
"Yes, yes I'll do that."
Leroy picked up the phone and dialed Walker's number. He waited paitently for the phone to be picked up.
Walker
Walker heard his cell phone ringing, and quickly pulled it out of his pocket.
"Excuse me," he nodded to the man and woman he was with, and answered the phone as he turned away.
"Walker Hanson speaking."
Leroy
"Hi Walker, this is Leroy," Leroy said. "I haven't caught you at a bad time, have I?"
Walker
"Leroy Brown," Walker smiled, "no, of course you haven't. I was doing an interview, but we have plenty of time."
He stepped outside so he could talk easier.
"What can I do for you?"
Leroy
"Well, I was reminded today that I hadn't given you my decsion on the position in the YIRAAS Council," Leroy replied. "My appologies for not getting back to you sooner, but I accept, if the offer is still open."
Walker
"Yes of course," Walker couldn't stop a smile crossing his face.
"I will take it before the Elder as soon as I get the chance. Thank you."
Leroy
"No, thank you," Leroy smiled, "for thinking of me. I certainly hope I can live up to your efforts."
Walker
"I'm sure you will," Walker assured.
"By the way, how is my daughter?"
Leroy
"Avery is great," Leroy replied. "Tanya says she's been doing very well in her instruction, and she seems to be in a good circle of friends now. What about the rest of your family? How are they?"
Walker
"Well, as good as can be expected I suppose. Both Taylor and Zac are engaged now... no word from Jessica."
He rubbed his eyebrow.
"Taylor and his fiance` both have bodyguards now, so they should be ok. How is Tanya getting on?"
Leroy
"It's good that they have bodyguards," Leroy nodded.
He smiled in Tanya's direction, who was busy on the computer.
"Tanya's good. Pregnancy has been progressing normally, which is good to know under any circumstances, I suppose."
Walker
"Yes, and especially in these circumstances... it is a true blessing for her. But she does deserve it," Walker insisted.
"No one could be much more deserving. She has been a credit to the society. I wish you both the best of luck."
Leroy
"Yes she does," Leroy agreed. "And thank you very much."
The two men chatted a little longer before hanging up.
