8 December 2003 - The Angel And The Wolf

Nessa and Tegan

Leila

Leila walked into the caf where she saw Mordred.

Hmmm... prospects, prospects.

She stood a few metres behind him, concentrating intently, as his nightmares began to open up slightly in his mind.

Slowly becoming more real.

MOrdred

Mordred covered his eyes slightly and his shoulders went down.

Suddenly, as they reached the crossroads of a street, a car came out of nowhere.

It hit the side of the Chevy, and Mordred went flying through the windscreen to land with a crack of breaking bones.

"Almost as good as Gwen?" Devon asked. "Uh-oh."

Leila

Leila could see his nightmares, and she grinned slightly.

Hmmm, he and the storm... they had some real issues there.

She flicked her wrist and intensified his nightmares.

Mordred

Mordred was worried. Very worried. He kept having these really weird pains...which he was now convinced were coming from Gwen. They were probably only pale reflections of whatever she was going through. Angel Investigations had been none too helpful or concerned either. Mordred sighed, and hoped he wasn't going to go running in and find out she didn't need rescuing after all.

He teleported.

"Gwen?" She was strapped to a guerny. "GWEN!" He ran to her side and started working at the straps.

Mordred rubbed his eyes softly.

Blood started to drip down Mordred's hands and feet. "No, Gwen, love, stop..." he pleaded quietly. "Don't do this to yerself..."

Leila

Leila was tempted to laugh out loud, but she determindly held onto her concentration.

Oooh, there was something.

She picked out his worst fear, and made it come to life, stronger than he had ever imagined before.

Mordred

"I'm sorry, Mordred...but I'm leaving you," Gwen said softly.

"And I'm taking the twins with me."

Mordred could feel the blinding rage building and his eyes started to glow gold.

Leila

Leila concentrated and brought the image of Gwen to life, making it so she was standing in front of him, then with a little more effort, she entwined his nightmares and his worst fears together.

Mordred

A snarl rose up in Mordred's throat and his hands clenched into fists.

"I'm so much happier with John," Gwen told him.

"He understands me. And he loves the twins. The divorce papers are in the mail. Not that we really need them, the marriage having been mostly illegal. And all you've caused me is hurt. All I get from you is pain, pain and more pain. I can't do it anymore."

Leila

Leila took a deep breath, and then intensified the nightmare and fear.

This was actually kind of fun.

Ooh, what was this?

Mmm, the wolf and the storm haven't had the best time, had they?

Leila pushed forward the episode with Nyx.

Mordred

"Looks like I'm in the wrong room. Sorry about that."

Mordred could feel her heart breaking, and his broke along with it. He raised icy eyes to stare at Nyx, the pupils dilated so his eyes were almost black. "What the hell did you do to me?" He hissed at her. "I remember telling you to back off, and then it's all like a blank."

"Well, now I feel insulted. No chance of another round then?"

"Get out before I forget I don't hit women."

Shame...overwhelming drowning shame.

Leila

Leila flicked her wrists and brought the nightmares to boiling point.

She closed her eyes and spoke, the words she was saying, instead coming out of the image of Gwen that was standing in front of him.

"You hurt me."

Mordred

"Oh god...I didn't mean to."

Mordred's shoulders hunched protectively.

"You know I didn't..."

Leila

"Do I?"

Gwen's face twisted into the smirk that Leila's did.

"I'm going back to LA. I never should've left Gunn."

Leila grinned evilly.

Mordred

"I...you...you can't *mean* that!" Mordred protested.

His eyes started to glow brighter.

Leila

"Oh, but I do. Sad for you... but very, very true."

Leila flicked her wrists and brought his nightmares forward again.

Mordred

"Gwen..."

Mordred shook his head slightly, a tear falling from his eye.

"Why? Why now?"

Leila

"Decided I had found something better."

Leila sucked in a panicked breath as the real Gwen walked into the caf. She dissolved Gwen's picture, and then brought Mordred's nightmares to boiling point, surrounding him completely, and scampered off, knowing that her power would wear off in a few minutes, and he would be unaware who did it.

Mordred

"Oh god..." Mordred said out loud.

He rested his forehead against his folded hands, almost crying as the nightmares attacked him then slowly faded.

Gwen

Gwen went over to him and bent down in front of him, putting her hands over his hands.

"Love, what's wrong? Mordred?"

Mordred

Mordred's head jerked up and he stared at her, almost disbelieving.

"Gwen?"

Gwen

"Yes? What's wrong, Mordred, what's happened?"

Gwen wiped his tears away.

Mordred

"Oh god."

Mordred leant over the table and kissed her desperately.

"I don't know."

Gwen and Leila

Gwen kissed him back, and ran a hand down his face.

"You don't know?"

She came from around the table and pulled out the chair next to him and sat down, and enfolded him into her arms.

Leila, however, set off to find Vortigern.

Mordred, Vortigern and SPike

"I just..."

Mordred shook his head slightly and rested his head against her shoulder as his arms went around her waist.

"It was like a waking nightmare."

Vortigern kissed Spike affectionetaly.

"See you after the class."

"Yeah. God."

Spike shook his head slightly and pressed Vortigern up against the wall in order to gain a more passionate kiss.

"Later," Vortigern said, pulling away.

"Yeah, later, luv."

Spike grinned as he watched Vortigern walk away, then went to teach his class.

Gwen and Leila

Gwen hugged Mordred back and frowned slightly.

"I had something like that happen the other day..."

She kissed his head gently.

"But you're ok?"

Leila grinned evilly and followed Vortigern, bringing his fears and nightmares to the surface slowly.

Mordred and Vortigern

"I'm alright..."

Mordred breathed in a lungful of air carefully.

"Don't leave me."

Vortigern's step faltered slightly and he frowned, hugging his arms around himself.

Spike turned to him and smiled slightly, before going gamefaced.

"Decided I don't want to wait around, luv. And now that the soul's gone...gonna make you mine. For keeps."

Vortigern backed away and then cried out as Spike's fangs entered his neck. He pawed weakly at Spike's back and the edges of his vision began to go black.

Gwen and Leila

Gwen kissed him softly.

"I'll never leave you," she promised solemnly, looking into his eyes. "My love, my soul mate."

Leila flicked her wrists and flicked up another nightmare.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Good."

Mordred kissed her back.

"Because I dreamt that you did."

Vortigern bowed his head slightly, walking slower now and almost blindly.

"What?" Spike hissed as he looked towards the door.

Drusilla sat up languidly, black hair spilling across her bare breasts.

"Sunshoine's so sad, my Spike..."

Gwen and Leila

Gwen kissed him again.

"It was just a dream, love."

Leila flicked her wrists and brought Drusilla out to stand in front of him.

"Sunshineeee."

Mordred and Vortigern

"And thank God for that," Mordred murmured.

"Really shook me up bad, though."

"Oh god...Spike! Spike!"

Vortigern backed away slightly.

Gwen and Leila

Gwen nodded and perched herself in Mordred's lap, hugging his head to her chest slightly.

"Just a dream," she said softly.

Leila's face twisted into an evil grin, mirroring on Dru's face.

"What's wrong, Sunshine boy? Someone seems... so sad, don't they, Miss Edith?"

Mordred and Vortigern

Mordred kissed her gently.

"Odd time for a dream though."

"SPIKE!"

Vortigern looked around for his lover frantically.

"Oh god, Spike!"

Gwen and Leila

Gwen nodded and kissed him back.

"I know... and it feels so real, doesn't it?"

Leila chuckled.

"My William can't hear you, Sunshine... or maybe he can, but he won't come. Because he's mine."

Mordred and Vortigern

"Yeah..."

Mordred shuddered slightly.

"Felt far too real."

"Oh god..."

Tears started to fall from Vortigern's eyes.

"Can't you just leave us alone, Dru? He wouldn't...he promised me."

Gwen and Leila

Gwen kissed him again.

"It'll never happen. Not in this lifetime. And that's quite a long time."

Leila longed to taste his tears, but she held herself back, out of sight, and continued with his nightmares.

"Promises with a soul mean very little compared to a promise without a soul. My William has come home."

Mordred and Vortigern

Mordred kissed her back and sighed.

"I just...it was so *real*."

"Oh god...you didn't. You did, you BITCH!"

Vortigern snarled and leapt for her throat, longing to claw the grin from her face.

Gwen and Leila

Gwen nodded and ran a hand through his hair.

"I know... I know... I love you, baby."

Leila snickered.

"Sunshine, do you want to know what happened... sssh, listen to the stars..."

Leila constructed Vortigern's worst nightmare, coming to life.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Love you too, mo cariad," Mordred murmured.

"No..."

Vortigern watched numbly as Spike shuddered and shook, crying out in pain as his soul was ripped away. And then...he was standing up and shaking out his duster with easy grace and heading straight to Drusilla.

"My wicked black goddess..."

Gwen and Leila

Gwen kissed Mordred's head again softly.

"You ok, baby?"

"My Spike has come home," Drusilla breathed.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Yeah...now."

Mordred sighed softly.

"Course he has, poodle. Always do, don't I?"

Spike kissed her softly, then vamped out and bit down on her lip, sharing his own blood with her.

Vortigern could only watch.

Gwen and Leila

"Come on, we'll get the twins and go home."

Gwen stood up.

"Mmmm, my Spike."

Drusilla's eyes glittered gold as she tasted their mixed blood.

"No more Sunshine, he makes me hurt," she said, pouting.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Yeah."

Mordred stood after her and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his head on her shoulder.

"Whatever makes my ripe wicked plum happy..." Spike said kissing her again.

Then he turned to Vortigern, blood trickling down his chin slightly. Spike grinned and then dragged Vortigern up against his chest.

"How did you think I could ever love you, when I have, her?"

Spike's eyes looked on Drusilla adoringly.

"Should we eat him together, pet?"

Vortigern wept silently.

Gwen and Leila

Gwen turned her head and kissed him briefly, before leading him over to the baby sitters.

"Do you love my insides? The parts you can't see?" Drusilla asked.

She ran her hand over his face.

"We'll eat him, and then we'll play, grrrr."

Mordred and Vortigern

"They been good?" Mordred asked.

"I love you from your entrails, to your extrails, my sweet," Spike said, bending over to kiss her again.

"Do you want to play with him? He's really very sweet."

Vortigern couldn't move, ice cold terror and shock seeping through him.

Gwen and Leila

Megan nodded. "Like angels."

Gwen smiled. "As always."

"I want to play with him, until he screams."

Drusilla smiled a demnted smile.

"And then will you dance with me?"

MOrdred and Vortigern

"Yeah."

Mordred smiled at Eavan and Bryant in their stroller.

"Thanks for looking after them."

"We can dance until the sun goes down and beyond," Spike promised.

"Anything for my princess."

Vortigern swayed slightly.

Gwen and Leila

"What we're here for," William said.

Gwen took Mordred's hand and helped push the stroller.

"I'm a princess," Drusilla said, smiling.

She ran a finger down Vortigern's chest.

"Do you like daisies? Hmm? I plant them, but they always die. Everything I put in the ground withers and dies. Spike? I'm cold."

Mordred and Vortigern

"I want to see Vort before we go," Mordred told Gwen.

"Then drink him up and you'll be warm. So much blood in him...and it tastes sweet and hot," Spike said, flashing his fangs.

Gwen and Leila

Gwen nodded.

"Yeah, sure."

Drusilla growled and pricked Spike's cheek with her nail. She leaned over and licked the blood up, vamping out, before turning to Vortigern.

"What will they sing when you are dead?" she asked him.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Right..."

Mordred closed his eyes slightly, then homed in on his twin. A small frown flitted across his face.

"This way."

He started to push the stroller as he walked towards where Vortigern was.

"I don't know, luv," Spike said.

Another part of Vortigern died inside.

"Lullaby, maybe?"

Gwen and Leila

Gwen followed behind Mordred.

"Run and catch, run and catch, the lamb is caught in the blackberry patch," she hummed. "Do you remember, my mummy used to sing that to me."

Leila sensed the wolf and the storm coming and prepared to entwine their nightmares.

Mordred and Vortigern

Mordred let go of the stroller and ran to Vortigern when he saw his twin standing stockstill in the middle of the corridor, tears running down his face and an expression of absolute soulburning agony in his eyes.

"Vort?"

Mordred took his arm and Vortigern sobbed in a breath, still trapped in the nightmare.

"You told me so many times, pet. I love to listen to you sing. Let's make him sing like a bird, petal."

Gwen, Rebekah and Leila

Gwen caught Rebekah's arm as she went past.

"Look after them for a second?" she asked.

"Of course."

"Thanks!" Gwen ran after Mordred.

"You sing the sweetest little song. Won't you sing for me, hmm? Don't you love me anymore?" Drusilla asked the imaginary bird.

Leila twisted her hand slightly, and drew Mordred into Vortigern's nightmare.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Oh, look, princess, it's the wolf," Spike sneered.

"What say we make him our puppy dog? He'd bark so pretty for you. He does for sparks."

Mordred's eyes started to glow gold and he snarled bloodcurdlingly, lifting his lip slightly to expose growing fangs.

Gwen and Leila

Drusilla laughed happily.

"Bad puppy," she said to Mordred.

With another flick of her wrist, Gwen was drawn into the nightmare.

Mordred and Vortigern

"He is, he is," Spike agreed.

"And he already likes to play our sorts of games. Sparks made him bleed and he loved it."

"Shut up," Mordred whispered.

Vortigern shivered.

"Would you like a pet, my pet? A pretty pet for my princess?" Spike asked Drusilla.

Gwen and Leila

Drusilla giggled and clapped her hands, running a finger over Mordred's jawline.

"Pretty pet... pretty tamed pet..."

She turned and saw Gwen.

"And this is the storm?"

Gwen froze.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Yeah, is, my dark goddess, my darling wicked princess," Spike said.

He got up in Gwen's face.

"You like making him bleed, sparks? Watch that pretty red fluid run out under your fingers...or did you use a whip? Yeah...betcha used a whip. All over his back."

Mordred's pupils slitted into the animal glare of the wolf and he growled.

"Tame, wolf, tame!" Spike laughed.

"Collar an' all!"

Gwen and Leila

Drusilla went over and kissed Spike deeply, biting his tongue lightly. She pulled away and walked over to Gwen, waving a hand in front of her eyes.

"Let's see what's inside... of course! Look at me. Mm-mm-mm-mm. Be... in me. Hmm. See with your heart."

Gwen blinked slightly. "Mordred."

"The wolf is tamed," Drusilla said sweetly, humming. "You tamed the wolf and now he won't play."

She walked over to Gwen, and with her illusions, she appeared as Mordred. "I'm leaving you here. With them."

"Mordred no..."

Vortigern and Mordred

Spike laughed.

"Get away from her," Mordred growled deep in his throat, voice becoming more animal-like.

"Oh, we being warned, princess!" Spike said.

"And we're so likely to listen. I'm the Big Bad, remember? You people all seem to forget what I am. I'm a *demon*, and demons don't change."

"You did," Vortigern mumured.

"And now I'm back! And badder then ever, isn't that right, poodle?"

Gwen and Leila

Drusilla giggled happily, and starting dancing on the spot, clicking her fingers.

"My William has returned home!"

She twirled on the spot.

"Now we'll feed... and we'll play, grrrr."

Drusilla stood in front of Gwen and vamped out.

"I want to eat this one."

Gwen shuddered slightly, but lifted her arm, slowly changing herself to electricity.

"No, no, no, psst, we're not going to play like that..."

Mordred and Vortigern

"Cheating, cheating," Spike singsonged.

Mordred shook his head uneasily, feeling an incredible sense of wrongness with the scene but unable in the towering rage and pain to sort out what it was. The wolf numbing his perception and fuelling his bloodlust, stoking his anger into greater heights.

"Eat the wolf and leave the sparks. Let's see how the wolf can play."

Leila

"Yummy, wolf..." Drusilla grinned, her eyes flashing as she stepped over to Mordred.

"Now shhh, be in me..."

Leila grinned and turned up the fear.

Mordred

"Oh, oh, careful princess, the wolf wants to make a fight of it," Spike laughed as Mordred bared his teeth.

"And we wouldn't want you to get your pretty dress ripped, would we now? Why don't we start with sunshine over there? He's soft and sweet...like a cake."

Leila

Drusilla pouted and stepped away, dress flicking at her feet.

"Sunshine boy," she smiled evilly.

Vortigern

Spike put an arm around Vortigern's shoulders and bent his head to the side, exposing the soft skin of his throat. His pulse fluttered visibly against the taut skin.

"Drink up, princess."

Leila

Drusilla clapped happily and walked over, bending her head to drink from Vortigern.

She pulled back, blood on her lips.

"He tastes like the light."

Vortigern

"He does, he does," Spike agreed, then bent his head to lick up some of the blood oozing from the punctures in a catlike sweep.

"Stop," Vortigern pleaded hoarsely.

"Never."

Gwen and Leila

Drusilla laughed.

"My Spike, won't you soften up the wolf for me? I want to play with him."

Gwen made a move to stop them.

"No, no, not yet, lightning."

Mordred

"Anything for my princess," Spike said and cracked his knuckles.

His first punch drove Mordred to his knees in a daze, blood trickling from a split lip. He hauled the teen back up again, fingers scrabbling vainly at the hand twisting his shirt around his throat and cutting off his air supply.

"Better, poodle?"

Gwen and Leila

"Oh yes, my darling, deadly boy."

Drusilla swished over to Mordred and ran a finger nail down his face, splitting the skin.

"NO!" Gwen cried out.

Mordred and Vortigern

Spike turned to look at Vortigern as Mordred's lips started to turn blue.

"This is what you get for loving a demon, pet. All your fault...again."

"No, Mordred, no," Vortigern pleaded.

Gwen and Leila

Drusilla licked up the blood that was on Mordred's cheek. She growled slightly and then bit into his neck.

"He tastes like power, try it, my naughty Spike."

"Let him go!" Gwen screamed, frozen on the spot.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Does he, my love?" Spike asked in interest, then slid his fangs into the other side of Mordred's neck and fed.

"No!" Vortigern cried out as Mordred started to slump.

Leila

Leila yawned slightly. She'd come back to these people.

They were fun.

As she trotted off, she let the fears and nightmares unwind, with no clue of what made them come to life.

Vortigern and Mordred

Vortigern sucked in a harsh breath, then flew to Mordred who was looking dazed as the gold slid away from his eyes and the fangs receded.

"You're alright, you're alright, you're alright," Vortigern chanted softly, hands running over his brother's unmarked neck.

Gwen

Gwen ran to Mordred and kissed him, tears falling from her eyes.

"I couldn't do anything, and you..."

She touched his cheek.

Mordred and Vortigern

"Oh god," Mordred said quietly as he shuddered with the aftershocks.

"Is everyone alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Vortigern said weakly.

"I just..."

"Spike is *never* going to do that, Vort."

Gwen

Gwen touched Vortigern's shoulder.

"He wouldn't. His soul is permanent, ok, it won't be taken from him. Drusilla doesn't have the power."

Vortigern and Mordred

"But what if she does?" Vortigern said frantically.

"What if-"

"Vort, nothing is going to happen," Mordred said.

Gwen

"She won't," Gwen reassured him.

"She's not smart or sane enough to anyway."

Vortigern and Mordred

Vortigern nodded slightly, but Mordred could feel it preying on his twin's mind now. The ghost had been raised, and it was going to take a long, long time for it to be laid to rest.

"Listen to Gwen, she's smart," Mordred said.

"And she has more idea about magic then we do."

Gwen

"Hey, Vort," Gwen said, bending her head to look him in the eyes. "Trust me... it won't happen. But, if it makes you feel better, I'll get Angel and Co. to check out if there's anyway it can, ok?"

Vortigern

"That would make me feel better," Vortigern said softly.

"Because something *always* seems to f*ck us up."

Gwen

Gwen nodded.

"Alright, I'll make you a deal..."

She touched his cheek lightly.

"If anything f*cks it up, I promise to maim and then kill it, even if it happens to be someone I actually like."

She paused.

"Not that that's a danger, I don't like anyone really."

She looked at Vort again.

"But if someone hurts you two, I will make sure they hurt just as badly."

Mordred and Vortigern

"And you think I'll be that far behind her?" Mordred asked his twin.

Vortigern shook his head.

"It's just...it was so real..."

"I know. We were there too, remember?" Mordred said.

His hand half rose to his neck then dropped down by his side again.

Gwen

Gwen reached for Mordred's hand and squeezed it lightly.

"So, we're in agreement. Anything happens, I get to do some killing."

She patted Vortigern's shoulder.

"I don't think it will happen... and even if Drusilla finds a way, we'll stop her. We're younger, smarter, saner and way more good looking than her."

Mordred and Vortigern

"Very true," Mordred said.

"We were about to go...are you going to be alright?"

"Yeah," Vortigern said.

Gwen

"Stay cool, Vort."

Gwen flipped her sunnies out.

"I'll give Angel a call, ok?"

Mordred and Vortigern

"Please."

Vortigern nodded and then started to move off, biting lightly on his lip.

"It will be alright."

"Will it?"

Gwen

Gwen frowned for a second.

"Hmmm, should track down Bek, she has the twins."

Mordred

"Yeah..."

Mordred nodded slightly.

"Don't know about you, but I would really like to go home."

Gwen

"Agreed."

Gwen kissed his cheek.

"Wait here, I'll get them."

She darted off and reappeared moments later with the stroller.

Mordred and Faolan

"We can compare notes when we get home," Mordred said.

Faolan loped up a few moments later.

"Right. Home we go."

Mordred closed his eyes and concentrated.

Gwen

They appeared in their house and Gwen sighed.

"This is getting way too weird."

Mordred

"Very," Mordred said grimly.

"You think someone could be doing it on purpose?"

Gwen

Gwen bent to lift Eavan out of the stroller, pausing only to pull the back of her pants up.

"Sounds very likely... but... are we the only people it's happening to?"

Mordred

"Far as I know," Mordred said.

Bryant held his hands up demandingly and Mordred picked him up, balancing the baby on one hip.

"We can find out."

Gwen

"Tired," Eavan said.

"Ok," Gwen said, kissing her head.

She turned to Mordred.

"It's just... it was so weird, and a part of me knew it wasn't real, but... I just kept telling myself it was a nightmare."

Mordred

"Yeah," Mordred said quietly.

"And some of it was memory..."

Gwen

Gwen leaned over and kissed Mordred's cheek.

"I know..."

She smiled sadly.

"We must just be the best targets."

Mordred

"Yeah."

Mordred nodded, corner of his eye twitching slightly.

"And dammit, I should be able to break it."

Gwen

"Hey, love, it can't be helped. Yet."

Gwen hosited Eavan further on her hip.

"Here, I'll put these two down for a nap, then we'll work out what's going on."

Mordred

"Alright," Mordred said.

"But there's nothing we really know. I mean."

He looked frustrated.

"The only person I can think of who would want to, is Dru, and she wouldn't target you. She'd only target Vort."

Gwen

Gwen took Bryant and Eavan and put them down to nap, then rejoined Mordred.

"Yeah... unless... she figured that hurting me, might hurt you, which would hurt Vort."

She sighed.

"It's a faint link... but is Drusilla insane enough to bring her own image into the vision?"

Mordred

"I don't know," Mordred said thoughtfully.

"Might be a sort of wish fulfillment."

Gwen

Gwen thought for a second.

"I'll give Angel a call tonight... see if he knows if Drusilla could do it."

She sighed.

"And I'll get the Halliwells to put up spells here while we're on camp."

Mordred

"That would be good," Mordred said.

"Better to be safe then sorry."

He started to move towards the kitchen.

"So...my turn to cook tonight. We talk while I do so?"

Gwen

"Course."

Gwen followed him into the kitchen, pulling her phone out.

She dialled in Angel's number and had a brief conversation with Gunn, then hung up.

"Angel's out fighting crime... or you know, dark avengering about. But Gunn's left him a message to call back."

Mordred

Mordred snorted softly as he sliced up some chicken.

"As always. God, I hate that guy. Gunn, not Angel."

Gwen

"Why?"

Gwen paused.

"Ok, stupid question. Nevermind."

She sat herself down on the opposite kitchen bench, watching him from under her eyelashes.

"Hopefully Angel can shed some light onto the sitch."

Mordred

"Yeah."

Mordred dumped the chicken into a wok with oil in it, which immediately began to smoke. He looked at her while he cooked.

"You think it's mojo?"

Gwen

Gwen shrugged.

"I don't know... it's the strongest possibility... but I don't know who would want to hurt all of us."

Mordred

"Unless it's someone being a mindf*cking sadistic arsehole," Mordred said as he added vegetables to what he was cooking.

"Which is always possible."

Gwen

"Hmmm, true," Gwen said thoughtfully.

"But it just seemed too... too personal, you know? I mean, why just us then? Why not everyone?"

Mordred

"Because we're infintely more screwed in the head then most people," Mordred said dryly.

"And maybe they're just starting. We've all got nasty skeletons in our closets. Us three just happen to have more then most."

Gwen

Gwen nodded.

"And a lot of our stuff is entwined, making us like a festival of pain and fear..."

MOrdred

"Any demons feed off negative emotions?" Mordred asked.

Gwen

Gwen nodded.

"True..."

She thought for a second.

"Demons aren't my area of expertise, Wesley would know it there was one..."

Mordred

"Anyway...let's table this topic and eat, alright?" Mordred asked as he served their dinner into two bowls.

"We can worry later. Destress now."

Gwen

Gwen pulled two wine glasses and a bottle of wine from their liquor cabinet and followed him to the table, sitting down to eat.
