8 December 2003 - Saving's What I Need

Nessa and Michelle

Faith

Faith walked slowly in the direction of the airport. At least there she could ring someone to help her... but who would? Who would come to save her?

She rubbed her eyes tiredly and winced slightly as she stepped on s shard of glass.

"Ow," she whispered to herself, then looked around.

There was an alley nearby, so she went over and sat against the wall, inspecting her foot carefully.

She heard footsteps, and froze, not knowing where to hide, so she crouched behind some garbage bins and buried her head in her hands on top of her knees.

The footsteps passed quickly, and Faith slowly got to her feet, her whole body aching. She hobbled out of the alley and back in the direction of the airport, sticking to the main roads, not liking what happened when she went into the dark.

Zac

Zac slung his bag over his back and stepped out onto the footpath.

Now if only he knew where to start looking for Faith.

He sighed, wondering how it was that Isaac always seemed to know where to start looking for Taylor.

Faith

Faith fell to the ground with a loud cry, feeling the wind be knocked out of her.

"Slayer," came a growl in her ear.

Her first thoughts were of the scientists, finding her again, but then she realised how cold this thing was.

And she screamed.

Zac

Zac frowned. Did he just hear a scream? It was hard to tell with all then general noise. He looked around trying to get an idea where it would have come from, then headed in that direction, hoping it wouldn't be a mistake.

Faith

Faith struggled slightly under the weight of the vampire, then gave up as she was lifted off her feet and shoved into a wall. She winced slightly, as she felt the pricks of the vampires fangs, and then yelled out as he started to drink her blood.

Zac

Zac's eyes widened at the sight of a vampire drinking some poor woman's blood.

Oh no... and not just any woman...

Faith!

Anything but a happy cookie, Zac froze the vampire. He would have prefered to explode it, but that might hurt Faith. Of couse with the fangs in Faith's neck she was already hurting, but at least the vampire wasn't drinking her blood now.

"Faithy?"

Faith

Faith slid her eyes over to see Zac.

And she wished she could smile.

But she just couldn't.

She pushed the vampire away, wincing in pain as the fangs dragged across her skin again, and feeling slightly light headed from the loss of blood, but at least she wasn't still stuck there.

"... Zac..." she said softly, a hand reaching up to stop the blood from pouring out of the two holes in her neck.

Zac

Zac wrapped his arms around her.

"Faith..." he said.

He kissed her softly.

"I've been so worried."

He put his hand over hers that was on her neck.

"You okay?"

Faith

Faith shivered slightly.

"Five by five," she replied, closing her eyes for a second.

"Can you... can we just go home?"

Zac

Zac kissed her again.

"Of course. C'mon. The airport isn't far from here."

And he began to lead her there.

Faith

Faith shivered, but allowed Zac to lead her to the airport, where they got a plane back to New York.
