Zac
"Ladies and Gentlemen," said the MC. "Welcome to the annual YIRAAS Talent show. Please allow me to introduce this years judges. Louisa Rammort, dance teacher. Ross Wilson, director. And Zac Hanson, musician."
Zac grinned and waved. Even in the YIRAAS community there were Hanson fanatics.
"Our judges will each give a score out of ten for the following acts," and the MC went on to tell them about the prizes, so on and so forth.
Sergei and Demetria
Sergei hummed slightly as he listened to the announcements, outwardly relaxed but inwardly nervous.
Demetria had very thoughtfully teleported him to Houston, and then he'd been transported up here. It had been a while since he actually been involved in any YIRAAS event...more then two years, certainly. And that had been for the European side. Americans made him nervous. With good reason...
His name was called so he got up to go on the stage. He wasn't using his guitar today, just singing. He couldn't do anything with his powers, seeing as they were uniformly deadly to anyone but him.
Nuclear radiation, a sure fire way to kill the party dead.
He waited for his music to come on, then started to sing.
"Something is wrong with the sum of us
That I can't seem to erase
How I can I be the only one
Without a smile on my face
Well now...
You're laughing out loud
At just the thought of being alive
And I was wondering
Could I just be you tonight
You show your pain like it really hurts
And I can't even start to feel mine
Well, now standing in place
When my head bursts
Well, I shake, I shake
And I see your progress
Stretched out for miles and miles
You're laughing out loud
At just the thought of being alive
And I was wondering
Could I just be you tonight
This is the sound that I make
These are the words I chose
Somehow the right thing to say
Just won't come out
Just won't come out
You're laughing out loud
At just the thought of being alive
And I was wondering
Could I just be you tonight
And I was wondering
Could I just be you tonight
Na na na
Na na na na
Na na na na na
And I was wondering
Na na na
Na na na na
Na na na na na
And I was wondering
Na na na
Na na na na
Na na na na na
Yeah, I was wondering
Na na na (I was wondering)
Na na na na (I was wondering)
Na na na na na (yeah)..."

Zac
Zac was enjoying himself. He had decided beforehand that he was going
to be 'the mean judge' and give everyone low scores, just because he
could. Besides, Lousia and Ross were being so nice... gee, where was
the fun in that?
"Sergei... I love that song," Lousia smiled. "You have a great voice,
so I'm giving you an eight."
Ross also had something nice to say, thus proving Zac's point.
"Well, dude I have to say," Zac said mischeviously, "that it's early in
the show and we wanna leave some room for the acts to follow... so I'm
giving you a four."
Yep, he was being petty.
But it was hard trying to think of mean things to say about good acts.
Sergei
"Thanks."
Sergei raised an eyebrow slightly as he moved off the stage.
"Ee ztee zhyeh k bahm, tovarisch." (And the same to you.)
He smiled faintly, then went to sit down.
