Taylor
Taylor pursed his lips as Bee followed him onto the space station again. It had been a few hours since Zac left, and he'd decided to come and see Avie again.
"Ok..." he looked around, trying to remember where to go.
He found his way through the station to her room, and knocked on the door loudly.
Avery
Avery set down her pen and rubbed her head slightly, and stood up. She petted Jade and went to answer her door.
"Tay!"
Taylor
"Avie!"
Taylor bent down and wrapped her in his arms, squeezing her tight.
"Thought you said you were coming home for the weekend, girlie."
Avery
Avery grinned.
"Well, I was home last weekend for Ike's... but I'll come home again."
She hugged him tightly.
Taylor
"You told me you'd come home this weekend," Taylor insisted, "it was only four days ago that I was here."
He looked up and spotted Jade.
"And Mya came along again."
He pulled her from his pocket.
Avery
Avery smiled.
"Yeah, I'm all packed."
She petted Mya lightly.
Taylor
"Cool. Ready to go then?" Taylor wiggled his eyebrows.
"It's about time you came and saw our new place."
Avery
"Yup," Avie said.
She grabbed her bag and jacket.
"Cool."
Taylor
Taylor took Avie's bag from her, then took her hand in his other. Bee followed them back to the teleportation devices, and soon they were back on Earth.
"Now, I'm still not driving..." Taylor began, "so Bee will take your stuff on his bike, and you can ride with me."
Avery
Avery nodded.
"Ok, cool."
She hopped onto Taylor's bike.
Taylor
Taylor got them back to Tulsa hours later, and pulled up at his and Mouse's home.
Bee took Avery's bags inside, as Taylor took his helmet off and shook his hair out.
"Mouse should be home. if she isn't, I don't know where she is."
Avery
Avery took her helmet off and tied her hair back.
"Ok," she said softly. "Nice house."
Taylor
Taylor smiled and took her hand, then led her up to the front door and through.
"Mouse?!" he called, "we have a visitor!"
Mouse
"Coming!" Mouse called back.
She walked through the house to where Taylor and Avery where and smiled.
"Hey Avery."
Avery
"Hey Mouse," Avery greeted.
"Nice house."
Taylor
Taylor smiled as he went to kiss Mouse.
"She's gone quiet all of a sudden," he whispered, then went back to Avery.
He held out.
"Now maybe it's your turn to get a tour."
Mouse
"Since there's just so much house," Mouse said, smiling slightly.
Fafnir bounded in, looking pleased with himself.
Hey Pack.
What did you do, and should I be worried?
Nothing...much.
Avery
"Mmmkay!"
Avery bounced slightly.
"Hi Fafnir."
Taylor
Taylor gave Fafnir a weird look, then led Avery from the room.
"Ok... Kitchen, dining area," he began as they walked through, "down the hall there's the bathroom and four bedrooms. And we have an ensuite. One of the bedrooms is going to be a nursery once we get it going."
He paused for a moment.
"Back door is from the laundry. Riss should be around here somewhere..."
Mouse
"Riss is here," Clarissa said, coming out of the laundry.
"Riss was just making sure no unsavoury types were lurking around."
Fafnir stuck his muzzle under Mouse's hand and she petted him absentmindedly.
Avery
"Hi," Avery said to Riss, almost shyly.
She looked around.
"Nice."
Taylor
"One of the bedrooms is for Bee and Riss," Taylor explained, "then there's ours, the nursery, and a spare room. I've got all my instruments and stuff in the garage. No cars at the moment."
He looked down at his sister.
"Have you been practising Harmonica on the station, or what?"
Mouse
Fafnir licked at Mouse's hand thoughtfully.
You know...
What?
That cat has been lurking around.
Probably just curious.
And you know what happens to curious cats.
Avery
Avery nodded.
"Sort of. I've been doing what you taught me, but I haven't had a lot of time. Too much homework and then lessons with Tanya..."
Taylor
Taylor frowned slightly at the mention of the cat.
"Well we have plenty of time right now," Taylor offered, "we could go down into the garage. Then if you want, we could go over to Mom and Dad's place and see who's home."
Mouse
"How is Tanya?" Mouse asked.
"And you know, space station in general."
Avery
"Sounds good."
Avery shrugged.
"I don't mind... and Tanya's good. She says I'm doing really well."
She smiled proudly.
Taylor
"Of course you are," Taylor put an arm around his sister's shoulders and half hugged her.
He went over to Mouse and kissed her again.
"I don't know how long we'll be int he garage. Do you want to come back to Dad's place afterwards or stay here?"
Mouse
"I'll stay here," Mouse said, kissing him back gently.
"I'm really kinda tired."
Avery
Avery smiled slightly.
"So we going home?" she asked.
Taylor
"Harmonica first," Taylor squeezed her hand a little then began to lead his sister down to the garage.
"Because I don't have a car since it got totalled, half the garage is a makeshift studio."
He opened the door and flicked the light switch.
"Maybe I should get Zac to draw on the walls," he chuckled.
Avery
Avery smiled and followed Taylor.
"Mmmhmmmm," she said absently.
Mouse
Mouse went and laid down on her bed, hand to her aching back. Pregnancy. It was not a fun thing. There was too much pain involved.
Taylor
After more than an hour's worth of practice on harmonica (and some guitar), Taylor sighed from where he was sitting on the concrete ground.
"Well you're doing a lot better than you were an hour ago," he raised an eyebrow, "ready to head over to Dad's?"
Avery
Avery nodded.
"Yep!"
She put the harmonica down.
"Thanks Tay."
Taylor
Taylor smiled.
"No problem."
He got one of the bikes ready, and they finally headed over.
