Libby
"Libby? Where are you going?" asked Karen.
"To the movies with some friends."
"Okay."
Karen was pleased that her daughter was making friends so soon. Libby left the apartment and headed to the commercial centre, and the cinema. She thought it was pretty cool they were actually able to have a cinema here. She wondered if they would have their own TV station and studio and stuff here too eventually.
Avery
Avery was already at the cinema, waiting outside with Millsy, Josh, Daniel and Matt.
"Hey Libby," she said happily as Libby arrived.
Libby
"Hi Avie! Hi guys," Libby greeted cheerfully.
"Hi Libby," said Josh.
"Sooo," said Matt. "What we gonna see?"
Avery
"Whatever, I'm not fussed," Avery replied.
"Yeah, me too," Millsy chimed in.
They browsed the movie titles and picked one they all liked the sound of, then bought their tickets, and some food and went in to find their seats.
Libby
Libby giggled softly.
"Two girls, four boys, I like that ratio."
"I'd like it better if it were two boys, four girls," Daniel remarked.
Avery
"You would," Avery commented.
Millsy grinned. "Course we would. But I guess this is ok, makes it all better when I get one of you, and I can gloat."
Avery raised an eyebrow. "Confident."
"I try."
Libby
"Yeah, you are rather trying aren't you?" Libby grinned.
The got a few chuckles.
"Ooooh... no ads! This is the best cinema ever!"
"Yeah... no ads, just trailers then the movie," Josh smiled.
Avery
The trailers started and Millsy reached shyly for Avery's hand. She looked down, and smiled, blushing slightly as she let him hold her hand, then focused on the trailers.
Libby
"I'm so gonna see that," Libby whispered.
Matt grinned, and soon thereafter the movie began.
Avery
An hour and a bit later, they were leaving the cinema.
"So where to?" Avie asked.
"Food?" Josh suggested.
Libby
Libby rubbed her hands together.
"Sounds good to me," she said. "Where's the best place to get food around this joint?"
"Just follow us," said Daniel.
Avery
Avery walked with Matt as they followed Daniel and Millsy to the food court.
"Like the movie?" she asked.
"Yeah, you?"
"Yep."
Libby
"I thought it was good too," Libby agreed. "Wow there are sure a lot of fountains and gardens around huh?"
"It's to keep the air fresh," Josh said knowledgably.
"Oh I see."
"No, you breathe."
"Oh funny."
"I thought so."
Avery
They got some food and then settled down at a table.
"We should go to the arcade!" Matt bounced.
"Yeah, good idea," Avery agreed.
Libby
Libby swallowed her mouthful.
"Yeah, and Avie and I are gonna kick your butts," she challenged.
"Oh yeah?" said Daniel.
"Yeah."
"We'll see about that."
Avery
"Oh, we will, just don't come crying to us when you lose," Avery said, flicking a strand of blonde hair from her shoulders.
"Ha, more likely you'll come crying to us, when you lose," Millsy replied.
"Doubtful, very doubtful."
Libby
"For starters, Avie and I rock," Libby grinned. "So of course we won't lose."
"And they're so modest too," Daniel said dryly.
"Yes. We are the soul of virture."
Avery
They reached the arcade and eyed the games.
"What am I going to beat you at first?" Avery asked, grinning cheekily at Millsy.
"Nothing, but why don't I beat you on the cars first?" Millsy replied.
"I'll beat you on them," Avie argued as they went over to a car each.
Libby
Libby got herself settled into one of the cars.
"Girls are gonna win!" she declared.
And then they were off.
Avery
True to their word, Avie and Libby one, although it was kind of close in some parts.
Avery hopped out of her car, looking triumphant.
"What was that, you lost?" she asked Millsy and Matt.
Libby
"Don't cry," Libby grinned. "No, on second thoughts, do... I love a sensitive guy."
"Ha, ha, ha," said Josh.
"And I also love a guy who can laugh at himself."
Avery
Millsy pouted, then grabbed Avery's hand and led her over to the two player street fighter game.
"Oh, you're just a glutton for punishment, aren't you, Millsy?" Avery asked as they put their money in and started to fight.
Libby
"Go Avie!" Libby cheered.
"Bet I can beat you on this one," Matt said.
"Bring it on."
Avery
Avery won again and she looked at Millsy, who had an expression of disbelief on his face.
"How..." he started.
"I have four brothers," she replied in way of explaining. "Plus I'm a telepath and you think about your moves, awfully loudly."
Libby
It was close between Libby and Matt, and then Libby asked:
"Are you a virgin?"
"What?"
BAM!
"Yes I win!"
"Hey that was not fair!"
Libby grinned.
Avery
"The girls are cheating," Millsy duly informed the guys.
"Pssh, you're just trying to think of an excuse as to why you're losing," Avery replied, looking smug.
Libby
"Exactly," Libby agreed. "I don't know why we hang out with these obviously poor losers."
"We are not poor losers," Josh said. "You're poor winners."
"You probably wouldn't be very rich either if you have six siblings," Libby grinned.
Avery
"Avery and Libby, the only reason we let you win was because we felt sorry for you," Millsy said.
Avery raised an eyebrow. "I have three older brothers, and I have been subjected to wrestles and punch ups since I was little... do you honestly want to fight me?"
"Um..."
Libby
"Wuss," Libby teased. "Hey, guys, Millsy's afraid of fighting a girl."
Josh chuckled.
Avery
"No, I'm just afraid of hurting her and making her little blonde butt cry," Millsy retorted.
"My butt's not blonde," Avery replied. "And I won't cry. So bring it on."
Libby
"Plus butt's don't have tear ducts," Libby added.
"Fight! Fight!" Daniel chanted.
Avery
Avery grinned and spoke into Millsy's mind.
"You honestly want to try..."
"Ummm..." Millsy grinned and went to get her in a headlock.
Avery dodged and grabbed his arm, pinning it behind his back. "Told you, older brothers... Zac taught me this when I was just a little kid."
Libby
"Yay! Go Avie!" cheered Libby.
"You're not gonna leta girl beatcha Millsy?" taunted Matt.
Avery
Millsy went to grab her, but Avery just bent his arm back further, grinning as she saw his pained expression.
"Fine, you win."
Avery let him go, looking pleased with herself.
"This round... I'll beat you next time."
"Mmmhmmm, I'm sure."
Libby
"Okay," said Libby. "So, what are we going to be you boys at next?"
"Nothing," Matt replied. "Because we're going to beat you."
"Hey, out of... four things we have kick your butts... four times!"
Avery
Avery grinned smugly.
"Yup, Libby and I rock and you all suck..."
"Co-"
"Don't you dare."
Libby
"Careful or we'll have to wash your mouth out with soap," Libby joked. "I can even supply the bubbles!"
She grinned and proceeded to fill the room with bubbles.
Avery
"Neat," Avery said, grinning.
"Yeah, you would think so," Millsy replied.
"Do you want me to hurt you again?"
Libby
Libby tilted her head to the side, then made a big bubble form right next to Millsy's butt.
POP!
Daniel and Matt snickered.
Avery
"Picking on me."
"Because you suck," Avery retorted. "Anyway, what are we doing now?"
Libby
"Actually, now that you mention it," Libby said. "I should probably be getting back. I have some more unpackign I need to do."
She sighed.
Avery
"I should go badger Tanya for another lesson, if she's up to it."
Avery smiled slightly.
Libby
"Okay, well, I'll see you guys later," Libby said.
She waved to them goodbye and headed home.
Avery
Avery waved and left.
