Gwen and Bobby
Gwen put Eavan and Bryant into the stroller and wheeled them out of the room, closing the door behind her. She went into the caf to meet Mordred for lunch when she ran into Bobby.
"Aww, babies," he cooed.
"Oh please, you're getting starry eyed, are you?" Gwen asked, an eyebrow raised in amusement.
"What are their names?"
"That's Bryant, and that's Eavan."
"Aww, babies!"
Gwen grinned and sat down at the table.
Mordred
Mordred walked into the room and settled himself next to Gwen, kissing her forehead.
"And how are you feeling this morning?"
Gwen and Bobby
"Eh, not as tired as yesterday. Actually had almost a full nights sleep. I think these kids know when I need a rest."
As if on cue, Eavan started crying. Gwen sighed and lifted her from the stroller and rocked her slightly.
"Oh she's hungry..." Gwen pulled a bottle from her bag and started to feel Eavan.
"Not breastfeeding?" Bobby asked, a glint in his eye.
"No, I am, that's breast milk in there, it's easier than having to take my shirt off in public," Gwen explained.
Bryant started wailing.
"Uh, Mordred? You wanna get him?"
Mordred
Mordred got up and went over to the stroller. He picked Bryant up, supporting his head.
"Shhh, Bry. All good. See, Eavan's there."
Bryant hiccuped and started to stop crying so hard.
Bobby and Gwen
"Awww, parents," Bobby grinned.
"Yeah, watch and learn kiddo, coz the rate you're going, you'll have to be doing this soon, yourself," Gwen replied, taking the empty bottle away from Eavan and putting it on the table, rocking her gently. "He'll need a feed soon, love, there's another bottle in the bag."
"Awwwww," Bobby said again.
"Oh shoosh you."
MOrdred and Vortigern
"Ok..."
Mordred leant down slightly and fished a bottle out of the bag.
Bryant focused on it.
"I think it would be interesting to see Bobby with a baby of his own."
"So, these are my new nephew and niece?" Vortigern asked as he entered.
"Yep..." Mordred smiled.
"Hey sweetie," Vortigern cooed to Eavan.
Gwen
Gwen tickled Eavan's chin lightly.
"Hey Eavan, meet your Uncle Vort," she said softly. She bent her head and kissed her forehead gently. "You want to hold her?"
Llewyns
"That would be nice." Vortigern smiled.
Mary bounced in.
"Babies!"
Mordred chuckled.
"I called Mam and told her..." Mordred bit his lip. "She might come up for a visit. I don't know."
Gwen and Bobby
Gwen lifted Eavan up to give to Vortigern.
"That would be kinda cool."
She smiled as Bryant took hold of her finger and stuck it in his mouth.
"Awwww," Bobby offered again.
"Do you want a kick in the head?" Gwen asked.
"No m'am."
Vortigern and Mordred
Vortigern held Eavan in his arms and smiled at her.
"They're both beautiful."
"Did they have a choice? Look at us," Mordred said dryly.
"So full of it, your Da is," Vortigern told Eavan.
Gwen and Bobby
Gwen grinned. "As if our children could be any less than perfect."
Bobby snorted and Gwen shot him a look. "Sorry m'am."
"That's right." Gwen touched Mordred's face lightly.
Mordred and Vortigern
"I think, we'll have to make sure that neither of your children grow up to be so proud," Vortigern said teasingly.
"They're perfect." Mordred kissed Bryant softly on the forehead.
Gwen and Bobby
Gwen laughed. "No, our children will be perfect."
"It's good that you have their lives planned out," Bobby said.
"Bobby..." Gwen said in a warning tone.
"Sorry. You know, you have the mom voice down."
"Aha, I knew I'd be good at parenting," she said. She looked pleadingly at Mordred. "Could you get me some lunch? As usual, nothing with bread."
The Mavericks
"Ok, love." Mordred handed Bryant to Gwen and moved off to get her something to eat.
Bryant debated crying, then yawned instead.
"Gwen, darling beautiful wonderful woman, how are you today?" Octavian walked into the room, grinning widely.
Demetria shook her head slightly as she followed him.
"Ignore him. He drank too much coffee."
"But we have heard such joyous news! Babies!"
"Calm down, Tav..."
Gwen
Gwen smiled down at Bryant, his large blue eyes crinkling back into a smile as he giggled. She let him happily play with her finger for a few minutes.
"I'm very well, how are you guys?"
Bryant yawned again and his eyes darted around, watching the new arrivals.
"This is Bryant, and Vort has Eavan."
Demetria and Octavian
Demetria smiled at Bryant while Octavian went to look at Eavan. Then they swapped.
"They're beautiful," Demetria told Gwen.
"Absolutely smashing!" Octavian added.
Bobby and Gwen
"But how could Mordred and Gwen's kids be ugly?" Bobby said before Gwen could respond.
"You're lucky my children are here, and I don't want to encourage them to fight, or use their powers on people who aren't technically evil," Gwen replied.
"I'm not evil."
"Technicality." Gwen smiled down at Bryant as he gurgled slightly.
Octavian and Demetria
"Dawn seemed to survive using her powers on me," Octavian said, pouting slightly.
"But you are evil, Tavvie," Demetria said brightly.
"I'm mischevious, and occasionally malicous. There's a slight but subtle and important difference."
Gwen
Gwen grinned. "Well, judging by their parents, I'd say Bry and Eav are going to be troublemakers when they grow up. Aren't you? Hopefully they'll get to see the elves too."
Bryant's eyes widened and he started to cry as Gwen took away her finger. She let him put it back in his mouth and he continued to drool over it happily.
The Mavericks
"So, you are going to go back to Lorien?" Octavian asked with interest.
"How fun!" Demetria exclaimed.
Mordred returned with Gwen's lunch. As requested, it had no bread.
Gwen
"If we can," Gwen started, wondering how she was going to eat when Bryant wanted to suck on her finger. "They were all very eager to meet the children, seeing as they blessed them with songs and prayers and stuff."
She pulled her finger away and wiped it on a tissue, and lifted Bryant up to Mordred as she took her lunch. "Ah, no bread, thank you, my darling."
Llewyns
"Not a problem," Mordred said as he took Bryant.
The baby hiccuped, but didn't cry.
Vortigern let Eavan chew on his finger.
"They're so cute!" Mary bounced.
Gwen
Gwen ate some of her lunch as she watched Mordred with Bryant out of the corner of her eye.
It really was a nice sight.
"I wonder what powers they have," Gwen commented.
Mordred and Vortigern
"Well, we should find out soon," Mordred said.
"They're second generation mutants."
"Thye just have to decide that they want to use their powers," Vortigern said.
Gwen
"Well, no doubt they'll have fantastic powers," Gwen grinned. "Much better than Jean and Scott's baby."
She finished her lunch and pushed it away as Eavan started to cry.
"I'm guessing wet."
Vortigern and Mordred
"This is when I hand the baby back," Vortigern said.
Mordred rolled his eyes.
"You know how to do it. There's nappies in the bag."
"Fine."
Gwen
"Aww, thanks Vort, I owe you."
Gwen leaned back in her chair.
"I guess we should look into buying some more baby stuff, right? Probably a house too..."
Mordred and Vortigern
"House, yes." Mordred nodded as he patted Bryant's back.
Vortigern took the nappy bag and went to find a place to change Eavan.
Gwen
"Do you want to go today?"
Gwen searched through the bag and pulled out a real estate magazine.
"Anya gave me this, coz she and Andrew bought their house, so she said this might help us. There are a few nice places."
Mordred and Vortigern
"Yeah, why not?" Mordred shrugged slightly. He sat down next to her, cuddling Bryant.
Vortigern soon returned with a much happier Eavan.
Gwen
"Is that better, my beautiful girl?" Gwen asked, smiling at Vort and Eavan.
"Do you have classes after this?" Gwen reached to take Eavan from Vortigern.
Mordred and Vortigern
Mordred shrugged.
"I'll skip them. Jean's a pain in the arse."
Vortigern looked at him.
"Shush, Vort."
"Didn't say a word."
Gwen
"Hey, house hunting," Gwen said to Eavan. "But don't worry, we're not gonna get all Brady Bunch, your father promised."
She reached over and put the bottles back into the bag. "Hmm, they'll need to be washed..." She stood and hoisted Eavan to her hip, going over to the sinks in the kitchen and washing the bottles, then coming back and putting them into the bag.
Octavian and Mordred
"So domesticated," Octavian teased Mordred.
Mordred glared at him.
Gwen and Bobby
Gwen put Eavan back in the stroller, the young girl yawning and closing her eyes as the blanket was tucked around her.
"Shoosh, Tav," Gwen said. "You drive, or me, Mordred?"
"Awwwwwwwww," Bobby said again.
"Oh shut up."
The Mavericks
"I'll drive," Mordred said.
He put Bryant back down in the stroller next to his sister.
"Awwwwwww," Octavian, Vortigern and Demetria chorused.
"Shut up."
Octavian and Demetria
"I think leaving the coven would be a yes," Octavian said.
"And having Dawn over me sits so wrong somehow..."
"So, you don't want to bed her?"
"I wouldn't touch her with a ten foot pole if she begged me."
Octavian made a face.
"Oh, and now I'm going to have that image in my mind for a while...thanks ever so much, Demetria."
"Not a problem, Tavvie."
Gwen and Bobby
"Soon you'll have a van and six kids, and Gwen, you'll be wearing one of those adorable little aprons that say 'kiss the cook'," Bobby teased.
"And even if I was wearing one, you still wouldn't be allowed to kiss me," Gwen shot back. She started to push the stroller out of the caf.
"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww," Bobby called after her.
Gwen turned around and shot a tiny spark at him.
Mordred and Vortigern
Mordred smiled evilly at Bobby.
"You kiss her, I hurt you."
"Melodramatic much?" Vortigern asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm completely serious, and he knows it."
Mordred started to follow Gwen.
Gwen
Gwen slowed down to wait for Mordred, then took his hand with her free one.
"So we're finally house hunting. We've only been putting it off for a month?"
Mordred
"Something like that," Mordred agreed, kissing her cheek.
"Oh well."
Gwen
They reached the car and Gwen unlocked it, then tossed the keys to Mordred. She opened the back doors and strapped Eavan and Bryant it safely, before folding the stroller up and tucking it under the seat. She hopped into the front seat and looked at the magazine.
"There's one a few blocks from here," she said, showing him the magazine.
Mordred
Mordred looked it over and nodded as he got into the front seat.
They drove out of the mansion grounds and to the first house.
Gwen
Gwen organised the stroller and kids again, then walked with Mordred up to the house that was open for inspection.
She walked through front door and smiled.
"This is kinda nice."
Mordred
"Yeah..."
Mordred nodded as he looked around.
"NIce enough. Looks like it has enough bedrooms and the like."
Gwen
"We'll need four bedrooms, but I think Eav and Bry could share for awhile."
Gwen wheeled the strolled as she walked into the kitchen.
"Seems big enough..."
She looked out the window.
"Ah, a pool."
Mordred
"Pool is a bonus," Mordred said, joining her at the window.
"The backyard's big too."
Gwen
Gwen nodded and turned to kiss him.
"I'd say this is very high on the yes list."
Bryant started crying.
"Awww, baby boy," Gwen cooed, bending down and lifting him out of the stroller. "Do you like this place, Bry?"
"Hand!"
Gwen looked at Mordred. "Was that you?"
Mordred
"No, that wasn't me. That was him."
Mordred looked bemused as he looked at his son.
"Guess telepathy runs in the family then."
Gwen
"I wonder if she's telepathic too," Gwen said as she let Bryant munch on her finger. "He has a real fascination for that..."
She looked out the window.
"I do like this place."
Mordred
"Yeah...but let's look at a few more places before we decide," Mordred suggested.
"In case there is something that suits us better."
Gwen
"True that."
Gwen rocked Bryant gently, watching as he fell asleep. She put him back in the stroller.
"Wanna check out a few more places then head back?"
Mordred
"Yeah..."
Mordred smiled and leant over to kiss her gently.
"I love you."
Gwen
Gwen kissed him back.
"I love you too."
She took his hand as she started to leave the room.
Mordred
They went and looked at a fwe more houses, but none of them had a pool. Otherwise, they were pretty similair to the first one.
"What do you think, love? The first one?" Mordred asked her.
Gwen
"Yeah, the pool was a definite advantage."
Gwen nodded.
"So we'll look into that one again tomorrow?"
Mordred
"Yeah. Let's get these two home now."
Mordred looked in on his sleeping children and smiled.
"Before they wake up."
Gwen
They drove home again, and they had dinner, before Gwen got the kids into bed.
