Taylor
Taylor hesitated by the door and thought it over again.
Well, he wanted the translations. He had to let him get to them for him to be able to translate them, so...
He opened the door of the cave and cautiously peeked out, keeping an eye out for Craig. With a gulp, he stepped out, spotting the rest of the writings near the door.
The words over the outside of the door itself were just poetry.
With a sigh he dropped to his knees again, and began to quickly copy it all down. With any luck, he'd be finished by the time Craig got back.
The Eye, Miette and Isaac
"I hate Australia," Miette muttered.
"You hate the heat, you mean," Isaac corrected.
"Well, you would too if you were me. Ugh, I've done so much sweating these past few days I feel like I'm going to dry out."
"Here have some more wa-" Isaac cut himself off and (telekinetically) pushed Miette and himself around a corner.
"Ike?"
"Is that who I think it is?"
Miette looked, then a smirk crossed her face.
"Well, well. If it isn't our old friend, the Eye."
"Don't see Tay... we should follow him."
"Yeah... I'll myself into light and follow."
"You sure you're up to it?"
"The sooner we get them, the sooner I can go somewhere cold. Like the snow. Or London."
Isaac smiled.
"Okay."
"You take the car. I can move at the speed of light too... so I can zip between you guys and give you updates to you know where to go."
"Okay."
Meanwhile, the Eye got into his own car. Time to check up on Taylor again.
Taylor
Taylor got the rest of the writing and illustrations copied down from the nearby wall, then went back to the door.
He traced his fingers over it for a moment, feeling slightly happy - but worried at the same time. He was almost done. All that was left was this side of the door.
He turned for a moment, looking at the tunnels that led away. There were a few arrows and directions, but he ignored them. He knew it'd be too tempting just to leave, and he had no idea of when Craig would be back.
He quickly began to copy down what was on the door. Almost there...
Miette, Isaac and The Eye
Miette didn't know if a telepath could sense her mind when she was light. If they didn't want him to know that they had found him, she had to hope he couldn't, because there was no other way.
Man... it was hot...
Isaac followed at a safe distance - enough that the Eye wouldn't be able to tell he was being followed. After a few minutes, Miette appeared in the seat next to him.
"Take the next exit," she advised.
Isaac glanced at her.
"You sure you're okay?"
"I'm fine," Miette replied, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
Because Isaac had a chance to express his disbelief, she had disappeared.
The Eye pulled up in the beach parking lot. He stepped out, locked up and muttered about damn tourists and beach bums then started down the beach to the cavesite. Miette zipped back and gave Isaac instructions. Ten minutes later, Isaac was walking down the beach as well.
"Ohhh I feel like the Wicked Witch of the West. I'm melting!."
Isaac laughed.
"Look what you've done to my beautiful wickedness! I'm melting, melting, melting. Oh what a world, what a world.... ohhhhhhhh..."
"That's a very good imitation," Isaac chuckled.
Miette grinned.
"I'd better go ahead and keep an eye on the Eye," she sighed.
The Eye reached the cave system and Miette chewed her lip nervously. Dang it... he would notice if she was light in this dark place... but if she changed to human, he would definitely sense her mind. Wait... he had a torch... she could pose as light from that! Brilliant.
Of course, it would also mean she would have to wait until the Eye 'wasn't looking' so to speak before she could go back to Isaac.
At least it was nice and cool in here.
Taylor
Taylor's head shot up as he heard the footsteps echoing down through the tunnels. He couldn't tell which one they were coming from, but he knew he'd soon see the eye.
He had about a eighth of the door left to do. It was just a matter of minutes...
Miette and Isaac
Isaac stopped. He could see the footprints had stopped at a bunch of rocks. Where the hell had The Eye gone?
He wiped his forehead. A half hour's walk down a hot beach had not been fun. He wish he understoof Celcious to Farenheight conversion because maybe then 32 degrees C would mean something to him. Other than 'really, really hot'.
If Miette had a lip, she would be chewing it. The passage seemed somewhat... winding, and she was worried she wouldn't be able to keep track. Fortunately, she had started creating a trail. She didn't have string, but she did have her power, and was creating a thin line of colour along the upper wall. Unfortunately... she didn't think of this under they had been in the system for a bit... so she could only hope she would remember the first part of the journey enough to get out again.
Taylor
Taylor rushed to copy down the last small illustration as he heard the footsteps getting closer.
It was a rough copy, but he just wanted to get it done.
Finally, he quickly grabbed a couple of pens he had with him, then slipped back inside the door before Craig could notice he'd been outside. He made his way over to the pile of notepads he'd filled, and added the last one to the lot.
Then he stood back and watched the door.
The Eye
The Eye walked through the door.
"Well?" he asked.
Miette didn't bother to wait and see what happened. As quick as a... well... flash, she zipped out of the cavern and followed her trail back to the entrance. When she got to the end of her trail, she was rather relieved that she was be to find the opening rather easily. Isaac wqs standing not so far away.
"Ike?" she called, not willing to come out of the shade. "Over here."
Isaac trotted over.
"Much cooler inside," she told him as they headed into the cave. "I created a trail... see that line up there?"
"Ahh, your doing huh?"
"Yep. Craigy-sweetie is in a cavern at the end of the trail. There's some sort of language covering the walls and that's where Taylor is. I'm guessing Eye wanted him to translate it."
Isaac nodded.
Taylor
"I..." Taylor looked down at the mound of notebooks.
"I finished."
He put his hands in his pockets and kept his eyes to the ground as he stepped back, so Craig could get to them.
The Eye, Miette and Isaac
"Look, I'd better change to light. I don't think he can sense you because of your shield. But he'll be able to sense me," Miette said.
"Okay," Isaac nodded.
Miette changed herself into light and continued to show Isaac the way to the cavern
The Eye walked over and began to inspect the notebooks.
After long last, Isaac and Miette reached the door. Miette slipped in and Isaac peered through the gap in the door.
Taylor
Taylor happened to glance toward the door at that point.
His eyes widened when he saw Isaac, and he stepped back slightly. But he stayed quiet so as not to alert Craig.
He wasn't sure if Craig would notice that his heart had suddenly leapt into his throat.
Miette and Isaac
Miette bent light around Taylor, cloaking him, and put a hologram in his place. She wished she could talk to Isaac telepathically... wait...
Holographic words appeared outside the door, describing what Miette had in mind. Isaac turned back to the crack and gestured for Taylor to come. He knew Taylor would see the hologram of himself.
Taylor
Taylor jumped backwards a little as the hologram appeared, knowing that Miette was most likely nearby.
He glanced toward Ike, back at Craig, then slowly began to make his way to the door.
He carefully slipped through, without making a sound.
"I... Ike?"
Miette, Isaac and The Eye
"Yeah, it's me," Isaac said quietly.
The words changed to 'now'.
Isaac took hold of the notebooks and telekinetically started pulling them over. Miette had cloaked them except for one thin line so that Isaac had something to take hold off. The last notebook, the one with the Eye would have to stay with him, unless he put it down. Miette created holographic notebooks in their place.
"Hmm," said the Eye at last. "I suppose you want to go home now?"
Miette made the holographic Taylor nod.
Taylor
Taylor closed his eyes and gulped as he stepped back away from the door.
"Can we... umm... get out of here really quick? Before he actually senses me?" he whispered.
Isaac, Miette and The Eye
The holographic words changed again.
"Yes, go. I'll meet you at the car."
Isaac nodded and took Taylor's arm, the notebooks floating behind him.
The Eye took a long breath and put the notebook down on the pile. He stretched his arms and Miette watched in agony, keeping the holograms alive as Isaac and Taylor left.
Taylor
Taylor followed Isaac through the tunnels, noticing the coloured line on the ceiling. His eyes trailed down the walls as he squinted, seeing if there were any more words or pictures.
"Ike, you would not believe what is in here," he shook his head.
Isaac, The Eye and Miette
Isaac grinned.
"I'm glad you had a good time," he teased.
The exit was not all the far away.
The Eye paused.
"You're awfully quiet," he said to the hologram of Taylor.
Miette made the hologram shrug.
Taylor
"Just... whatever you do, don't destroy this place on the way out, ok?" Taylor insisted.
"It's kind of... sacred. I don't know how else to put it."
Isaac, The Eye and Miette
"Wasn't planning to," Isaac assured him as they reached the beach.
The Eye stiftened.
"Taylor?" he asked suspiciously. "Say something."
He couldn't sense Taylor's mind... something was up...
Miette realised he was suspicious. She made her mind up quickly. She grabbed the last notebook. Although she hid her work like she usually did, she had to turn human to catch it.
"Miette..." The Eye growled, sensing her mind.
"Umm, hi, bye," Miette replied.
As fast as, well, the speed of light, Miette ran out of the cavern. The Eye yelled in frustration as he realised the translation was gone, and ran out after her.
"Hi guys," Miette said, catching up with Isaac and Taylor. "He's caught on. You have a head start, but I suggest you run. He's slightly angry."
Taylor
Taylor backed off as Miette appeared, then as soon as he heard what she'd said, he began to look worried.
More than slightly worried.
"Where... where can we go?" Taylor looked between them nervously, "I don't know my way around or anything... he blindfolded me everytime he took me in."
Isaac and Miette
"You might not know," Isaac assured him, "But we've been scouring all of Perth for ya. We know where we are."
"C'mon guys, run," Miette said. "I'll hold him off -"
"No, you won't," Isaac said firmly. "The heat starting to get to you again, I can see it. You go on ahead to the car. We'll meet you there."
"Ike..."
"Go!"
Miette nodded and sped off. Isaac started jogging down the beach.
Taylor
Taylor took off after his brother, looking back over his shoulder every now and then in case the Eye came into view.
"All of Perth?" he panted a little after a moment, "how... how long have you guys been here?"
Isaac, The Eye and Miette
"Few days..." Isaac replied.
The Eye reached the beach and look around. Which way did they go? When he got his hands on those brats...
Miette reached the car and slumped onto the hot ground.
Taylor
When Taylor glanced back again, he almost tripped over some seaweed.
"Ike!" he exclaimed, "he's down, he's down here!"
A couple of beach goers glanced in their direction, but paid them no mind.
Isaac and The Eye
Isaac glanced back.
"He's still a ways back," Isaac replied, glad that Miette had taken the notebooks.
The Eye spotted them, and started running after them.
Taylor
"Doesn't mean he can't do what he did to us last time," Taylor said between his teeth, still glancing back every now and then.
"There are plenty of people on this beach, and plenty of..."
He hesitated, then looked back again.
Slowly in his pace slightly, he called out to some of the seagulls.
Isaac and The Eye
"Damn birds!" The Eye yelled as the seagulls began swooping in his path. "Get outta the way!"
"Taylor's doing," he growled to himself.
Isaac glanced back and grinned.
"That should hold him up for a bit. So okay, we're getting a bit of a sense of deja vu here... we succeeded last time, and we will again."
Taylor
Taylor smiled as the seagulls swooped. Thank God they were friendly enough over here...
He jumped over a couple of rocks, keeping up with Isaac.
"How far do we have to go?" he panted.
Isaac and The Eye
"It's a half hour walk," Isaac replied. "I don't know how that converts to jog/run."
The Eye continued to raced after them despite the birds.
Taylor
"Oh God," Taylor gulped slightly, needing to catch his breath already.
He hadn't the need to run for a long time after all...
He looked back, and noticed the seagulls were starting to lay off a little. They were getting hurt when the Eye tried to bat them away. Taylor looked worried for a moment, but took comfort in the knowledge that they could probably run faster than the older man.
He just hoped no one else was brought into this.
Isaac and Miette
At long last they reached the ramp off the beach to the car park.
"Miette?" Isaac gasped.
Miette blinked at him.
"Dang it."
Isaac unlocked the car and helped Miette into the back seat.
"She's doesn't take to the heat well," Isaac said to Taylor by way of explanation.
Taylor
Taylor eyed Miette warily, trust being a primary issue.
"Umm... anything I can do... while you get us out of here?" he looked at his brother.
He glanced down at the beach again.
Isaac and The Eye
"You can get in the car," Isaac teased.
He did up Miette's seatbelt, put the notebooks in the car and then headed to the driver's seat.
Meanwhile the Eye was almost at the ramp.
Taylor
Taylor raised his eyebrows, then got into the passenger seat and put his seatbelt on.
"I meant for her," he indicated over his shoulder.
Then he caught sight of the ramp.
"Oh no, he's coming. Go... go, GO!"
Isaac, Miette and The Eye
Isaac turned on the engine (and the air conditioner) and got going. His mind raced.
"Okay, first we need to lose him, then we should get our stuff and get out of Perth."
"Wa-water..." Miette gasped.
"At your feet Tay... in the flask," Isaac said.
The Eye got up the ramp just as Isaac drove out of the car pack. Grumbling, he ran for his own car and got in.
Taylor
Taylor bent over and reached for the flask.
He undid his seatbelt and climbed into the back seat, pouring some of the water into the lid of the flask.
Then he held it to her lips.
Isaac and Miette
Miette drank gratefully.
"Th-thank you..."
"You okay?" Isaac asked.
"Just don't make me go out in that heat again."
Isaac smiled.
"Dang it, he's following us. Man, I wish I knew these streets better..."
Taylor
Taylor looked up, then back. He spotted Craig's car.
He let Miette drink as much as she wanted to, then set the flask on the floor.
"Do you know the way to the airport from here?" Taylor gulped slightly, keeping his eye on the car, "we could phone ahead or something and find out when the next flight is..."
Isaac
"Good idea," Isaac said. "Hmm, we should get to the rental place and drop this off. I think there's a mall or something nearby. We could probably get a taxi to the motel, get our stuff, and then to the airport. Better check flights, Tay."
Taylor
Taylor nodded.
"It'll have to wait til we get there though. I mean... I don't have a phone number or anything."
He looked back nervously.
"Let's just hope we lose him before then."
The Eye and Isaac
The Eye was content to follow at this point. He remembered how it ended the last time. He had been doing his research - Isaac wouldn't attack unless he was attacked first. SO he would just follow until he had a good opportunity.
"Okay," Isaac said, glancing at the Eye's car.
He was a little nervous... the lack of acting on Craig part was worrying him.
Taylor
Taylor looked back at Craig's car, noticing that he wasn't gaining.
He glanced at Miette, then climbed back into the front seat.
"How long do you think until we get there?" he asked.
Isaac, Miette and The Eye
"We're here now," Isaac said as they pulled up.
He shut off the engine.
"Quick, we have to get everything and get out of here. Come on Miette."
"Do I have to?"
"Yes."
Isaac pulled a reluctant Miette out of the car and let Taylor tend to the notebooks. Then he locked up and went inside to drop the keys off. The delay bugged him but soon they were on their way to the shopping centre to loose themselves in the crowd.
"I think we've lost him," said Isaac. "He would have done something during the hold up at the rental place otherwise, surely?"
Taylor
Taylor nodded, glancing over his shoulder.
He almost dropped one of the notebooks, but caught it.
"I think... I think I need a bag or something to shove these in. There's too many of them..."
Isaac, Miette and Friday
"Okay, we'll get a bag," Isaac said.
"There's a map over there," Miette pointed. "Maybe we can find a bag shop on that. This place is huge."
"Good idea."
"Isaac? Taylor?"
Isaac looked up.
"Friday?"
"That's me. No one told me you guys were in Australia."
"Flying visit."
"I see."
"Oh, Day, this is Miette. Miette, Day."
"That's right. You mentioned you had a friend in Perth," Miette looked Friday up and down. "Little young for you don't you think?"
"I said friend. Not girlfriend. Duh."
"Mmmm..."
"Mmmm..." Friday mimicked. "How long you guys been here?"
"Few days," Isaac shrugged. "We're leaving today."
"Shame. If I had known, I would have invited you to my birthday party. I turned 16 three days ago," Friday grinned.
"Well, happy birthday," Isaac said. "I turn 23 tomorrow."
"Oh really? Cool."
Taylor
"Well I'll just say Happy Birthday from everyone," Taylor managed a smile for Friday.
He glanced behind him warily, then looked towards the map. Maybe Friday actually knew her way around better than they could at the moment...
Isaac, Miette and Friday
Isaac caught Taylor's look.
"Hey you wouldn't happen to know the nearest bag shop?" he asked.
Friday shrugged.
"Sure. Walk this way. And no, I'm not gonna do a funny walk."
"Oh darn," Isaac joked.
"Where's Zac?"
"He's home."
"Australia too good for him huh?"
Isaac laughed.
"Well, here we are, one bag shop."
"Would this do?" asked Miette, picking up one bag.
Taylor
Taylor pilled the notebooks into the bag and zipped it closed.
"Yep. I'm hoping at least one of you has some money... oh wait. Australia."
Isaac, Miette and Friday
"Miette's paying for this expedition," Isaac said. "Don't ask me where she got the money, I don't know. And I don't want to know."
Miette grinned cheekily and paid for the bag.
"How long before you guys are leaving?" asked Friday. "You could join me for lunch."
"Okay, so question... what happened to the person I met who was convinced that we were all girls?"
"Oh, don't get me wrong, I still think your music sucks. And Taylor still looks like a woman."
"That sounds more like it."
Friday grinned.
Taylor
"Well thanks again," Taylor rolled his eyes.
He was still looking around, obviously nervous. He slung the backpack over his shoulders.
"Now we need a phone, and the airline number."
Isaac, Miette and Friday
"Phone and phonebook over there," Friday shrugged, pointing.
"I'll make the call," Miette said.
"Okay," Isaac nodded. "And then we should get going."
Friday shrugged.
"Okey-dokey then."
Miette headed over to the phone.
Taylor
Taylor watched after her, and looked down the road.
"Hey 'Day!" came a call from about ten metres away.
A teenager appeared from the crowd.
"What's taking you so long?"
Friday and Isaac
"Hi Tasha!" Friday greeted. "Sorry, bumped into a couple of friends of mine. Isaac and Taylor. Oh and that's... Miette over there. Guys, these are Tasha, Ross and Dave."
"Hey," Isaac greeted.
Taylor
Taylor just nodded.
"Hi..." Dave waved slowly.
"They look familiar," Ross frowned slightly.
"Hi," Tasha grinned, then glanced at Ross and chuckled.
Taylor glanced over at Miette, wishing she would hurry up.
Isaac, Friday and Miette
"We have common looking faces," Isaac said to Ross. "Can't swing a cat without hitting someone who looks like us."
Friday snickered.
Meanwhilst, Miette was still trying to organise the flight.
Taylor
"That's an... interesting way of putting it," Ross looked confused.
"He's easily confused. Trust me. But I mean, it's Ross, so..."
Ross just shook his head as Dave laughed.
"So are... we going... back in?" Tasha indicated backwards, raising her eyebrows at Friday.
Taylor went back to wondering where the Eye was.
Isaac, Miette and Friday
"Yeah sure," Friday replied. "I'll see you guys later. And when you see Zac, tell him... I dunno... come up with a particularly nasty insult as say it's from me."
Isaac laughed.
"Okay," he said.
Friday grinned and left. A few minutes later, Miete rejoined them.
"Stupid airport people," she said. "Okay, the flight is at 5, so hopefully we have enough timt o grab out thing and get there."
"Okay, let's go then," and Isaac started to the taxi stands.
Taylor
Taylor followed his brother as Tasha, David and Ross led Friday back to where they'd come from.
"We still have a few hours," he said, spotting a clock in a store window, "let's just hope Craig isn't hanging around."
Isaac and Miette
"Yeah, but we have to get our things, then get to the airport. Then get through the airport. Oh yay fun," Miette rolled her eyes.
Isaac smiled and hailed one of the taxi's. He held opened the door, and let Miette get in first, followed her and gave the driver the address while he waited for Taylor to get in.
Taylor
Taylor threw the backpack in first, then followed it and closed the door behind him.
He settled in and put his seatbelt on, before pulling the bag onto his lap and holding it tightly as if he was afraid of losing it.
Isaac, Miette and the Eye
Isaac drove to the motel. He collected their things then checked them out. Then they headed on to the airport.
Much time later they were arriving at the airport.
"Umm..." Miette said, looking at the flights. "We're on... 14."
"Cool."
The Eye followed calmly at a safe distance.
He would make sure they didn't get away.
He would make sure they regretted this day.
Taylor
Taylor waited while they got their baggage sorted, and they headed for the metal detector. He kept the bag of notebooks in his hands until they got to the detector and they put it through for scanning. Once out the other side, he grabbed it again.
"Who's got the tickets? Miette?"
Miette, Isaac and The Eye
"Yep," Miette smiled.
They all got through the security and then made their way to the plane. Miette produced the tickets, and then they headed on.
"First class?" Isaac said, raised eyebrow.
"Do we deserve anything less?"
"Hmm... yeah we're coming back to the 'I don't want to know where you got your money from' thing again."
Miette giggled.
She was glad he didn't want to know. For some reason admitting to him she robbed a bank made her feel uncomfortable.
The Eye got on the plane in his usual way - played telepathic tricks on the staff making them all think he had his ticket, so on and so forth. He discreetly found himself a seat.
Taylor
Taylor took the window seat and put the bag down in front of him as he put the seatbelt on.
He looked out the window and ran his fingers through his hair, again wondering where the Eye was. Perhaps he'd already begun to make his way back to America to counter their arrival or something.
The Eye, Isaac and Miette
The Eye waited until they were enough into the flight for Isaac, Miette and Taylor to relax, then he made his move. He stood and walked over to them.
"Greetings," he said coldly. "I believe you have something of mine."
Isaac looked at him, then at Miette and Taylor.
"And don't any of you try anything... fancy," The Eye went on. "You wouldn't want... witnesses."
He knew they would get the message.
Taylor
Taylor jumped visibly, his eyes widening and never leaving Craig.
Something of his? Was that him, the notebooks, or... both?
His eyes glanced away for a split second, noticing none of the other passengers seemed to notice anything.
The Eye and Miette
"Craigy sweetie," Miette said. "You're slightly out number here."
"No, you're outnumbered," The Eye replied smoothly. "Let me put it this way. You try to use your powers on me, and I will kill one of these passangers. And if you don't give me the translation, I will do more than simply kill innocent little humans."
Taylor
Taylor leant back into the window, pulling the backpack into his lap and hugging it to him.
His eyes darted between Isaac to Craig.
"You already know what it is," he voice shook.
The Eye
The Eye gave Taylor a cold look.
"I want the written translation. Now."
And to make his point, he made a passanger think he was having a heart attack.
Taylor
Taylor's facial expression changed to one of worry as he watched the man struggling with his breath.
"God, God, no," he closed his eyes for a moment.
He released his hold on the backpack and pushed it softly in Craig's direction - letting it land in Isaac's lap.
The Eye
"Give it to me!"
Isaac's mind raced. He had to be the one to think of something. He was the only one on the whole plane The Eye couldn't read.
"This plane will soon be stopping at Brisbane Airport."
Slowly he handed the bag to the Eye.
"Here."
The Eye snatched it up and quickly checked the contents to make sure they weren't holograms or something. When he was satisfied, the heart attack ceased.
"That man was lucky. The next one won't be," The Eye said cruelly.
Taylor
Taylor realized he was shaking when he covered his mouth with his hand and then dropped it and looked out the window again.
"The YIRAAS have to know about it," he voice shook again.
The Eye and Miette
"The YIRAAS are of no concern," The Eye snarled, sitting down in a nearby chair as the plane began to land. "Now, when this plane stops, you, my little friends, are getting off."
"We are? Hey, I paid perfectly good money to -" Miette began.
"You'll get another flight, I'm sure."
Taylor
"What... what are you gonna do with us? Just... You said you'd let me go home, so, why can't we just go home now?" Taylor kept his eyes out the window.
"Why stop? I don't... You have what you wanted."
The Eye, Isaac and Miette
The Eye didn't answer, just smirked. There was no way he was going to let them stay on the plane and have an oppoortunity to get them back.
Isaac chewed his lip. C'mon! Think of something!
The plane came to a stop and everyone departing started getting up.
"Up," the Eye ordered.
Isaac got up slowly, and Miette as well a few seconds later.
Taylor
Taylor gulped as he stood, looking down toward where the door was opened and the people were exiting the plane.
"We... we can't stay in Australia," he shook his head nervously, grabbing the sleeve of Ike's shirt in the process.
The Eye, Miette and Isaac
An idea started forming in Isaac's mind, but he couldn't indicate to Miette or Taylor that he had one. The Eye could read them.
"There are other planes," The Eye replied coldly. "I'm sure Miette wouldn't mind robbing another bank."
Miette blushed and didn't look at Isaac. The Eye blinked in surprise, then smiled a little. The kind of changes he had made were temporary at best, he knew. The soul naturally breaks down that kind of telepathy, but how long it takes is very dependant on circumstances.
Taylor
"Well if you're going to let us go, then why don't you just leave us on this one?" Taylor frowned slightly.
"You can always go and get your own plane. You're at a slight advantage to us you know."
The Eye, Miette and Isaac
"Out," was the Eye's only answer.
Miette started walking reluctantly to the end of the line. The last of the passangers were filing out.
"Now," Isaac thought to himself.
Just before Miette took the step on the ramp, Isaac telekinetically pushed the Eye out the door.
"Back in, back in!" Isaac rushed Miette and Taylor.
The Eye was about to react by killing someone, as promised, when he found himself gasping for breath. He stumbled down the ramp.
"Oh my gosh, that man is having a heart attack!" cried someone.
Isaac smiled to himself and followed Miette back to their seats.
"What you do?" Miette asked.
"I put a little telekinetic pressure on his heart. He'll be fine as soon as I'm out of range. We just have to hope he doesn't manage to get himself back before the plane leaves."
Taylor
Taylor managed to grab the backpack before it fell out with the Eye, then rushed back to where they'd previously been seated.
He took his previous seat again, and looked out the window to where the Eye had disappeared - hugging the bag to him again.
Isaac and Miette
Isaac looked at the bag thoughtfully.
"I wonder why that's so important to him?"
"Well, it's ours now," Miette smiled. "Or... yours... whatever."
Taylor
Taylor looked up at his brother.
"It's basically everything that was in the cave," he began, as if he was almost out of breath.
"I said it was sacred. It's more than sacred. It could mean... I don't know what it means. But it's going to change everything as we know it."
He looked out the window again.
"I have to get it to Dad, and then let the Elder decide what he wants to do with it."
Isaac and Miette
Isaac gave a low whistle.
"That incredible is it? No wonder the Eye wanted it so badly."
"We should be grateful he didn't just kill us outright," Miette murmured. "Although, I suppose it's not quite his style to do that so publically..."
An announcement came for all the passangers to fasten their seatbelts as the plane was about to take off.
"Good," Isaac nodded. "Hopefully he hasn't made it back onto the plane."
Taylor
Taylor bit his lip, realizing he couldn't see Craig from where they were.
He put his seatbelt back on, then tried to settle back again.
"He said he'd let me go," Taylor shook his head slightly, "but that's what he said last time, and... he didn't."
Isaac and Miette
Isaac shrugged.
"I don't know how he operates. Not sure I want to know," he glanced at Miette.
"Don't look at me. I only used the guy for my own evil ends," Miette replied. "Didn't care what he did with his spare time."
In any case, the rest of the flight was uneventful.
