"Now what are you huffing about?" asked Rowena.

Sam said nothing.

"Sam... why can't you be the least bit hospitable to our guests?"

"You just invited those creatures over -"

"Creatures?" Rowena repeated. "Honey, they're members of your own species! Spencer is - or was - one of your friends!"

"I will have nothing to do with them! Damn it Rowena, you're going to bring trouble down on us."

"Sam, really -"

"A shapeshifter for a son! Those... people... next door! The constant stream of aliens you have over for dinner! You're bringing unneccesary attention to us."

"I did not decide that Billy would have a power," Rowena replied coldly. "The O'Shaughnessy's are perfectly nice people and so are all those I invite over for dinner. Alien, human or vampire slayer."

The next few minutes became an argument that became louder and louder to the point where Duke got out of bed and got into the shower, hoping the running water will drown out the noise.

Then Sam slapped Rowena.

Silence.

"Get out," Rowena said.

"What?"

"I said get out. And don't you come back until you've learnt to control your temper and gained some sense of hospitality."

Sam didn't move.

"Fine."

Rowena pulled out a suitcase.

"You're not leaving," Sam growled.

"No, you are," Rowena replied, calmly packing Sam's things.

"Rowena... Rowena!"

Rowena didn't answer, just went on with the packing, then headed downstairs and threw the bag out the front door. She gave her husband a stony glare. Sam glowered back.

"Out."

"You can't do this."

"I just have."

Silence.

Sam stormed out to retrive his things, and Rowena locked the door behind him.

Then she fled to her room and cried herself to sleep.
