4 October 2003 - Hoping I couldn't don't you a favour

Michelle

Shannon and Zac

Zac sighed as he left the Medlab. Whoo hoo, go him, he screwed things up again.

"Zac?"

Zac looked up.

"Yeah?" he asked in a meloncoly tone.

"You, umm, wasn't hoping I couldn't don't you a favour."

Zac gave Shannon a blank look. Shannon closed her eyes, opened them and pulled out a sheet of paper. It began:

Zac,

My power is Opposites, so if you're reading this it's because I was too upset to translate properly.

Zac's eyes widened as he read the rest of the note. Then he stared at Shannon.

"You're a woman?" he asked in surprise.

Shannon blinked, tilted her head to the side, looking confused.

"You... I am opposite gender to you."

Zac started laughing.

"And all this time, I was think you were a guy. You look like a guy to me."

"Oh," Shannon then hurried on. "Will you... will I help you?"

Zac looked hesitant.

"Are you sure?" He asked at last. "Are you sure this is the only option left to you? I mean... getting yourself dishonoured and virtually thrown out of Elvan society sounds like a drastic move to get out of a betrothal."

"If I meet this humble, modest, nice, big sweetie, I would understand."

Zac nodded slowly.

"Uh huh. That bad huh?"

"Better."

"I see. Why me then? Why not one of the other guys here?"

"They... it isn't... soft..." Shannon replied. "You do want to be unexpected again."

"You don't want them to think if they can get into your pants once, they can do it again?"

Shannon paused.

"Yes."

"How do you know I won't do that?"

"I - you - seem honourable."

"Me? I, that's, how do you reach that conclusion?"

Shannon concentrated.

"You... take responsibily. Julie, others, speak highly of you, despite... obvious... issues."

A small smile appeared on Zac's face.

"Okay," he agreed finally. "But only if you say please."

Shannon grinned.

"Please?"

Zac grinned back.

"Okay then. Now how did you want to go about this?"

And Zac followed Shannon back to her room, discussing her plan.
