Logan, Demetria, Octavian and Spike
Logan grinned at everyone as they assembled in the Danger Room.
"Morning all."
"I f*cking hate you," Octavian murmured.
"We know how you loathe early mornings,Tavvie." Demetria patted his arm comfortingly. "Do buck up. Go on, Wolverine."
"Ok, Spike set up a scenario for each team based on Sabretooth's impressions of the compound. Once we're all in, it's based on his memories."
Logan looked up and Spike nodded back from the control room.
"Already to go mate."
"Any questions?"
Gwen and Faith
Faith stretched her arms. "Nope, let's go."
Gwen rubbed her eyes and took her jacket off. "Yeah, I'm good."
Rogue and Shannon
"Same," said Rogue.
And Shannon shook her head.
Logan, Spike, The Mavericks and Displaced
"Spike." Logan stepped back and the training program scene loaded.
The vampire then hurried down.
"Ok, this is the main gate," Spike said. "It's where Bobby's team will be entering. Over there, where the roof nearly touches the wall is where Logan's team will be entering."
He turned and pointed to another region of the wall.
"That's where Faith's team will be entering. And here's where mine will be."
Everyone grouped together in their teams, and Spike nodded.
"Then let the games begin."
He unpaused the scenario and they were all dressed in the X-men uniforms, unless Spike had them loaded differently.
Rightio, let's go. Jonothon, Vortigern and Mordred concentrated for a moment and gathered everyone into a telepathic link.
Everyone hear me? Mordred asked.
A chorus of replies answered him.
Wolverine, it's your show.
Ok, I want everyone to strike those walls simulataneously. Storm, lay up some cover please, and keep 'em busy with some lightning. Stop when everyone's inside except for the perimeter teams.
Storm
Storm focused for a second and brought up some lightening and thunder. "Done and done."
Logan, Demetria, Spike and Sergei
"Thank you, Storm. Wolf, I want your team to cause distraction and go for the students. Spike, I want your team to go for the professor. Iceman, I want your team to cause as much havoc as possible, while refraining from killing memebers of the other teams. Let's go."
Logan looked at Demetria.
"I want a rappel rope down here for the rest of the team to go up."
Demetria looked at the roof slope and teleported. Soon a line was snaking down to where Logan was standing.
"Let's go," Spike snapped to his team. "Abyss, I want a hole in that wall. Make a lot of them. We'll go in through one, but they'll have to watch them all."
"Da." The Russian started concentrating and soon the wall was melting, for lack of a better word, in several spots.
Faith, Gwen, Bobby, Mirabelle and Mariette
"Let's do this," Faith said. "Electro, need you at the door."
Gwen nodded and pressed her hand to the door, short circuiting the alarm system. The door swung open.
"Right, I want you to stick behind me and Wolf," Faith said, going in.
Bobby grinned at Rogue and Mariette. "You ready guys?" He froze the gate and waited for Remy to blow it up.
Mirabelle followed the rest of her team through the hole.
Gambit
Gambit smiled and charged a card. He flipped it at the gate...
BOOM!
"If dat don' bring dem runnin' not'ing will."
LOgan, Mordred and Vortigern
Constructs of Glory's minions appeared, liberally interspersed with humans, aliens, what mutants Sabretooth had recognised, vampires and other demons.
Logan helped the rest of his team rappel up the wall and then they were walking quietly along along the roofline, being very stealthy.
Mordred was right behind Faith, keeping a catuios eye out. A vampire charged him and he swung his sword through it's neck. It dusted.
Vortigern called out to his teammates telepathically.
Close your eyes!
They did and he let off a blinding flash of light in the direction of their oppenents.
Killing them while they were blinded was rather easy.
Faith, Gwen, Mirabelle, Mairette and Bobby
Gwen found a panel of switches for an alarm system, so she put her hand up and short circuited them.
Faith stopped in front of a demon. "Hi!" she said perkily, then plunged the sword deep into it's gut, then decapitated it. She ducked the next punch from the vampire, and staked it quickly, moving on.
Mirabelle ducked a few of the punches, and bounded around, killing the minions, unseen to most with her speed. She bent backward and flipped up onto the roof, holding onto a pipe and pistoning her legs out.
Bobby grinned at Remy. "Let's go blow things up," he said, walking through the gate. Mariette copied both Bobby and Remy's powers and set about freezing things and blowing them up. Bobby held his hand to the side of the building, turning it to ice, and stepping back for Remy.
Gambit and Rogue
Gambit threw a couple of cards, thereby blowing up the wall.
Rogue considered the wall, then used her atom manipluation to turn it into dust.
"Cool."
Logan, Jono, Spike and Mordred
Logan grinned.
Everyone seemed to be working together well, and no one was 'dead' or wounded yet.
He looked Jonothon.
"Can you put a hole through the roof so we can get through to the professor?"
Jonothon nodded. He'd taken the bandages off for the purposes of the exercise. With a thought, his fire started to burn through the roof above where the professor would be.
Spike led his team deeper into the compound, heading for the rooms where the children were being held.
Mordred watched Gwen and Faith, while continuing to keep an eye out for nasties.
Faith, Gwen, Bobby and Mariette
"Duck!" Faith yelled. Gwen obediently ducked and Faith decapitated the vampire behind her. Faith went back to fighting the demons around her.
Bobby grinned and froze another wall, as Mariette copied what he was doing and blew up some small areas in the compound.
Gambit and Rogue
Gambit threw some more cards at the wall, and others at a horde of minions. Biting her lip, Rogue made a bit of a speed bump in the floor, causing the leaders to trip.
Logan
The training continued for the rest of the day.
Logan reran the simulation about five times before he was satisfied.
"Go and get some rest. Tomorrow, we'l be doing it for real," he told everyone.
Faith, Gwen and X-men
Faith nodded and headed off to her room to call Zac. "See you all tomorrow."
Gwen groaned as she walked out of the Danger Room, and she went to her room to collapse.
Bobby, Mirabelle and Mariette walked silently from the room, going to the kitchens to get food.
The Mavericks, Displaced, Logan and Spike
Mordred followed Gwen.
Vortigern and Spike left together, arms around each other's waists.
Logan went up to shut down the program and generally clean up any traces of what they had been doing.
The Displaced went up to Jonothon's room to talk and generally bitch.
Demetria went to get a cup of tea, then collapse into her bed.
Gambit and Rogue
Rogue headed off to bed, and Gambit set off back to the hotel he was staying for his night's sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.
