Rogue and Julie
Rogue wrote a note a passed it to Julie.
"Don't you think that's a little melodramatic?" Julie asked in a whisper.
"You never met the Professor," Rogue replied. "Maybe we should have done this sooner."
Julie shrugged, eyed the teacher for a moment, then passed the note on to the next desk.
Bobby, Rebekah, Mirabelle and Mariette
Bobby scanned it quickly, nodded and handed it to Rebekah. She nodded, handed it to Mariette and Mirabelle, and they passed it on too, around the room.
The Mavericks and Displaced
Mordred read it and nodded. Finally.
He passed it on.
Vortigern bit his lip. But he would do it, he had to.
He passed the note on.
A smile of pure glee spread across Octavian's face. Oh, at last!
He passed it on around the room.
Demetria read it thoughtfully, then passed it on to Jonothon, Angelo and Sergei.
Rogue, Julie and Shannon
The note soon made it all around the school.
At ten in the rec room, as previously determined, Rogue was surprised to see Julie come in.
"Julie?"
"I might not be of any help when it comes time to take action," Julie said. "But I can sure as heck help come up with some ideas here."
Rogue smiled and gave her a hug as Shannon arrived.
Bobby, Rebekah, Mirabelle and Mariette
Bobby and Rebekah walked in shortly after, Mirabelle and Mariette following.
"We may not have met him, but we are willing to help, fight, do whatever needs be," Mirabelle said.
Bobby sighed as he sat on one of the couches. "Something tells me we will need fighters."
The Mavericks
"Yeah, and lots of them." Mordred entered with Vortigern and the members of Displaced.
"I've taken a look in Sabretooth's memories of what Glory's place is like...it's going to be hard to get him out."
"Which is probably where I will come in," Demetria said smoothly.
"But...I think we should get some of the teachers to help us."
"Spike would," Vortigern said.
Rogue
"We're going ta need all the help we can get," said Rogue. "You said you found out what it's like there - what can you tell us?"
Gwen
Gwen walked in and sat on Mordred's lap. "Helping is high on priority list. So... where is he?"
Mordred, Vortigern, Jono and Logan
"It's in Japan," Mordred said.
"Anybody got paper and a pen?"
Jonothon handed them over and Vortigern started to rapidly sketch out the floor plan of Glory's compound.
It was quite extensive.
"Here's where the professor is."
Mordred marked a room with an 'x'.
"Here's where some of the students are being held."
He marked a few more rooms.
"And Sabretooth didn't get to see all of the compound."
Logan entered the room.
"Well, you kids beat me to it." He grinned. "Let's get the proffesor back."
Rogue and Julie
Rogue grinned at Logan.
"Yes," she nodded.
"What's security like?" asked Julie.
Faith and Gwen
Faith walked in and stood folding her arms.
"Glory's minions have never been intelligent... she usually picks the lower class demons who are too scared of fighting properly."
Gwen looked up. "You gonna help?"
"Pass up a chance to kick Glory's ass into the ground? Never. Course I'll help." Faith smiled almost savagely.
Logan, Spike and the Mavericks
Logan sat down.
"Security's quite tight," Mordred replied.
"And there's spells up, as well as the usual measures."
Demetria and Octavian grinned, then waved slightly.
"Don't tell Dawn, but we've passed her already in the magic stakes."
"Pollux and Castor adore us, and they've managed to convince a lot of other gods that we deserve helping," Demetria said.
"According to Sabretooth, Glory has her usual minions, but she also has mutants, aliens, witches, warlocks and higher class demonic beings."
Mordred rubbed his forehead lightly.
"I say we go in, kill a whole bunch of people, then get the hell out with the professor and anyone there against their will," Logan said in a growl. "Nice to see you, Faith."
"So, we're all being rebellious, are we?" Spike drawled and came and sat down next to Vortigern. "Count me in."
"We should ask Storm as well," Logan said. "From some of the stuff she said yesterday..."
Rogue and Julie
"I agree," Rogue nodded, remembering the conversation.
"Well, I say that plan sounds good, Logan," Julie grinned. "Does anyone else know anything else we should know?"
Faith
"Good to see you too, Logan. And there's this."
Faith pulled out a Dagon's Sphere.
"According to what Xander and Anya told me, it's a Dagon's Sphere and it seems to slow Glory down. Which is something we might end up needing. And then then... if you wanna fight a God, you fight with the weapons of one."
Faith lifted the Troll's hammer.
Logan, Spike and Octavian
"Good." Spike nodded.
"Nice to see you're prepared, Faith."
"Should someone call Stormy in?" Logan asked.
"We just need to remember not to tell Jean and Scott-"
"Or Dawn," Octavian cut in, rolling his eyes.
"About what's going on."
Shannon
"You can't go get him, unless a telepath woulnd't dislike to try?" Shannon offered.
Faith and Storm
"Always prepared," Faith said, smiling slightly.
Storm walked in and looked around. "Right... something tells me I've walked in on something most secretive and naughty. Something that will end in death. Can I join?"
Mordred, Octavian, Logan and Spike
"Hopefully not our death," Octavian said. "I like my skin the way it is, thank you."
"But yes, lots of death on the other side." Mordred grinned evilly.
"We're being rebels," Spike drawled.
"We're going to go get the professor," Logan said.
Rogue and Julie
"So far we have break in, kill a bunch of people, resuce the Professor and anyone else who needs rescuing, then leave," Rogue grinned.
Julie was looking at the map Vortigern had drawn.
"Where do you think would be the best entry point?" Julie asked. "Or should we - well, you since the only thing I could possibly do is get myself killed - divide into teams and enter at different points?"
Faith, Gwen and Storm
"Charge in, much of the style of John Wayne?" Faith grinned.
"I can break into any building, basically," Gwen offered.
"Split into teams. That way, if a group gets caught, we won't get caught together," Storm said.
Sergei, Dem, Logan and Spike
"Base the teams around the two teleporters?" Sergei said.
"Two teams enough, do you think?" Demetria asked hesitantly.
"Well, there's no point getting to the professor if there's no way to get him out again," Logan said.
"Storm, can you fly the jet?"
"And someone who's good with hacking to shut down systems," Spike said thoughtfully.
Rogue and Julie
"We may need a perimeter team or two," Julie began.
"A what?" asked Rogue.
"Perimeter team. A team that hangs around the outside. In case people try to esacape - and they will - we can catch them Kinda a fail safe in case they try to smuggle the professor out. If he's the important to them, they might do that. We'll just have to hope they don't have an underground passage or anything."
Storm, Mirabelle, Bobby and Rebekah
"Yeah, I can fly the jet." Storm nodded.
"I hate to interrupt but I'm a teleporter also," Mirabelle said, putting her hand up slightly.
"Ok, so we have three porters," Bobby began.
"Mirabelle fights too," Rebekah supplied.
"Ok, three porters, a whole bunch of fighters... someone who can break us in, some that have been up against Glory before, some who have worked with her, two of the strongest X-Men, I say let's do this thing," Bobby said.
Logan, Mordred, Sergei and Spike
"Two days?" Logan suggested.
"Just to make sure everything's ready..."
"I'll put in a new training program for the Danger Room," Spike said.
"Good idea, that." Mordred nodded slightly.
"So. We're done talking now I think?" Sergei said, lifting an eyebrow.
"The plan basically seems to be, three teams break in at different points," Logan said.
"We kick much ass, cause much damage. Find the professor and anyone else we can, then get the hell out."
"And perimeter teams," Spike cut in. "Always watch your perimeter."
Rogue and Julie
"Who's on which teams?" Julie asked. "Probably those with better ranged skills should be on the perimeter."
"Shannon," Rogue grinned. "I've seen you with that bow of yours."
Shannon smiled and said her next words carefully.
"If anyone has a weapon that needs refilling, like bows, I believe the refilling spell I have on my quiver may work on other things too," she offered.
Faith, Gwen and Rebekah
Faith shook her head. "Ordinary I'd say yeah for the crossbow, but I think I'll be using my good friend 'Mr Hammer'." Faith let the hammer fall to the ground with a heavy thunk.
"Well, I vote going with a strong fighter," Gwen said. "But that's coz my hand to hand isn't up to scratch yet."
"Come with me then," Faith offered.
"I'll stay outside with Julie, then, oui? Fighting isn't my strong point, but I can per'aps confuse the emotions of the minions," Rebekah offered.
Mordred, Octavian, Logan and Spike
"I'll go with Gwen," Mordred said.
"Be a good idea maybe if we spread the telepaths around," Octavian suggested.
"Yeah..." Spike nodded thoughtfully. "I'll be with Vort."
Logan started writing down teams.
"Ok...groups 1-3 are the ones going inside. Perimeter teams we'll make up as we go. Here's what we've got so far."
He coughed slightly.
"Team one. Mordred, Gwen, Faith. Team 2, Mirabelle, Vortigern, Spike. Team three, Demetria..."
"Me," Octavian said firmly.
"Demetria, Octavian, Jono. And Perimeter...Shannon."
Rogue and Julie
"Whoo hoo, Shannon's the whole perimeter team on her own," Rogue grinned. "Can Ah join one of the teams going in? Ah've been working on the atom manipulation power of Calvin's - Ah should be able to make things interesting. Plus, getting through walls, easy."
"I'll stay back here," Julie said. "I'll only be a liability. Being human and all, with no powers whatsoever. Plus someone should keep an eye on the kids. Maybe you can join Shannon on the perimeter, Storm? Your power works best outside, does it not?"
Storm and Bobby
Storm nodded.
"I'll stay outside."
Bobby frowned. "Rogue, you wanna come with me and Mariette? We'll be another team?"
Logan and Sergei
"I'll stay outside as well," Angelo said.
"I don't care where I go, as long as I get to fight," Sergei said, smiling slightly.
"Ok..."
Logan scratched a few more names down on the paper.
"Perimeter...Storm, Skin and Shannon. Team one...Wolf, Gwen, Faith. Team two...Scathach, Spike, Mirabelle, Abyss. Team three... Chamber, Feral, Spryte and me. Team four...Iceman, Rogue and Mariette. Rogue, you want to give the thief a ring and see if he's busy?"
Rogue
Rogue nodded.
"Ah can do that."
She got up and trotted off to the nearest phone.
"Shall we identify where each of the teams is going to enter?" Julie asked.
Faith and Gwen
Faith shrugged. "Three teams have a teleporter with them, is it going to be vital to break into the building itself?"
"Unless we get separated from our porter, in which case, we'll need to get out," Gwen pointed out. "While that won't be a problem for me, you might..."
"Gwen... Slayer... strong. Ring any bells?"
"Good point. Nevermind." Gwen shrugged.
"I'd say one team goes in roof way," Faith said. "If Glory's doing rituals, she'll need to be outside and up high."
Demetria, Logan and Sergei
"Mine, perhaps?" Demetria suggested. "I can fly..."
"Here, team one can break in."
Logan tapped the map Vortigern had drawn up.
"Mainly electric defense. Won't be a problem for you, Gwen. Here, team four can break in. This gate...should be susceptible to ice. And if Rogue can get hold of Gambit...he can help blow it open."
Logan looked the map over again.
"Team two here. Sergei, what exactly can you do?"
"Nuclear explosions and atom manipulation," Sergei said. "I can get us through da wall. Easy."
"Team three...we can reach the main roof of the compound here."
Logan looked up again.
"Leadership. Team leaders, but we should have an over all leader."
Julie
"Well, I vote Storm for the perimeter," Julie grinned. "As for an overall leader, Logan, I don't think there's anyone better suited here than yourself."
Storm and Gwen
"Thank you," Storm said, with a slight smile. "Love to. And Logan, you are the strongest and best for the job."
Gwen shrugged. "I vote either Mordred or Faith for our leader. Whoever is stronger out of the two of you."
Logan, Octavian, Spike and Mordred
"I'm touched." Logan grinned. "I'll lead the whole shebang then, as well as my team."
"Obviously more experienced at it," Octavian murmured.
"I'll lead mine," Spike said. "I've fought Glory before."
"You better for the same reason, Faith," Mordred said.
Julie and Rogue
"Okay, Perimeter, Storm. Team one, Faith. Team two, Spike. Team three, Logan. Team four?" Julie asked.
That when Rogue returned.
"Remy has agreed to help," Rogue smiled. "He's on his way over to join us for the meeting now."
Bobby and Mariette
"Me," Bobby put in. "If that's ok with you guys?"
"Fine with me," Mariette replied.
"Rogue, you don't mind if I'm leader?" Bobby asked.
"Ok, so he'll be on our team then?" Mariette asked.
"Yep," Bobby replied.
Logan, Octavian and Bobby
"You look after her, Ice, or I swear to god..." Logan growled.
"Oh, how sweet." Octavian wiped a pretend tear from his eye. "Just what you need to feel loved, Rogue. Random death threats."
I second what Wolverine says. Jonothon said calmly.
Rogue and Julie
Rogue giggled.
"Leaders?" she asked.
Julie quickly filled her in and Rogue shrugged.
"Fine with me," she agreed.
Bobby, Faith and Gwen
"Not planning to let Rogue get hurt," Bobby said seriously.
"Well, now that we have that settled..." Faith said. "Angel can stay here and mind the kiddies. He's strong enough to fight off anything that may come after them."
"Ohh, good point, the kittens," Gwen said. "But yeah, Angel and Wes can look after that. They can call Gunn up to help."
"Good man," Faith commented. "Anyway, we'll enter from here, yeah?" She pointed to the map. "So, which team is going to go for the Professor? Yours, Logan? I say my team is more inclined to go after Glory, we can distract her."
"Great, I get to be on the death mission team," Gwen said sarcastically.
"First rule of slaying, don't die. Don't worry Gwen, I'm not gonna get you killed."
Logan, Mordred and Spike
"You can't die, remember," Mordred said, giving her a quick kiss. "Maybe we can play distraction? We can run around with Gwen and knock out electrical devices and smash up doors and such like."
"Yeah." Logan nodded. "We'll go after the professor. Spike, your team can go after the kids."
"Alright," the vampire agreed.
"Team four...run around and blow things up while killing as many minions as you can." Logan's smile wasn't very nice.
Rogue and Julie
"Mass destruction, fun," Rogue winked.
She could only hope that Calvin didn't get too much of a kick out of the killing side of it.
"Definitely," Julie grinned.
Faith, Bobby and Gwen
Faith grinned evilly. "All in favour of me smashing Glory to bits with my friend the hammer, say aye."
"Aye!" Bobby grinned back. "Fun."
"I think so." Faith tucked the Dagon's Sphere into her pocket. "Anyways, this is? We done? I think I'd like to go train some."
"That might be a good idea for the fighters," Gwen put in.
Logan, Octavian and Spike
"Very good point." Logan got to his feet, smiling.
Octavian moaned and covered his eyes with his hands. "Oh dear god no. I know that look..."
"I do expect to see you all down in the Danger Room at 6."
"Dammit, I knew it."
"We need to get used to working with each other. Leaders, you'll need to get used to the capabilites of your team mates. We'll train for a couple of hours, and then I expect to see you all bright and early the next morning."
"I'll tell Scott I'm pulling an all day rehearsal," Spike said.
"That'll mean we can have all day tomorrow."
Julie and Rogue
"Since we're - you're - doing this in two days, you'll need all the practice you can get tomorrow," Julie put in. "Just try not to get yourself hurt."
"Don't think you're going to get out of this," Rogue said smartly. "If we're having a all day rehearsal, it would be really bad for Scott to see you out and about."
"Oh I see. You want me to hang around and play the water girl huh?"
"Something like that."
Faith, Bobby, Mirabelle, Mariette and Gwen
"If you want me to train you, Julie, say the word," Faith offered, standing up. "Anyways, I'm off the train in the regular gym. Anyone wants to join me, Gwen and Mordred, I am looking at you two..."
Gwen sighed. "She's a monster. Alright, I'm coming."
"Are you? I didn't even do anything to you."
"Ha, funny."
"Thought so. Grab the hammer for me?" Faith asked, an amused smirk on her face.
Gwen tried to lift it, then shot Faith an evil look. "Take it yourself."
Faith shrugged and lifted it easily. "Ok. See ya in the gym." She left.
Mirabelle and Mariette stood. "We'll go there too. If I watch Faith fight, I can probably pick it up," Mariette said.
Bobby stood. "Alright, I'm gonna go outside and practice the ice thing."
The Mavericks, Spike and Displaced
"I'll go to where I destroyed everything last time and practice where I can't hurt anyone," Sergei said.
"I'll go set up a program for the Danger Room," Spike said and left.
Jonothon sighed slightly and fingered his bandages. I better do the same as Sergei.
"Gym it seems to be then," Octavian said.
"Quite." Demetria nodded and stood.
"Let's go then," Mordred said.
"You're the teleporter," Vortigern said snarkily.
Mordred grinned, and the four of them disappeared.
Julie and Rogue
Julie smiled.
"Thanks. I'll take you up on that Faith," she said.
"I'll wait for Remy," Rogue said. "So I can fill him in."
Gwen, Bobby, Mariette, Mirabelle, Faith and Rebekah
Gwen sighed and trudged to the gym, after Faith had left.
Bobby left to go outside and Mariette and Mirabelle went after Gwen.
Rebekah shrugged and went to her room.
