Mirabelle, Mariette and Rebekah
Mirabelle Lisle looked up at Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters with a slight smile. She glanced at her twin sister, Mariette.
"Are you not excited?" she asked softly.
"What's to be excited about? A new school." Mariette looked non plussed.
"Yes, well, Rebekah will be here, so we are told."
Mariette nodded and took her sisters hand, leading them into the school slowly, where they ran into Rebekah in the entrance.
"Rebekah!" Mirabelle hugged her friend tightly. "So lovely to see you again!"
"Oui, I've missed you both." Rebekah smiled happily, her eyes shining with tears as she hugged Mariette. "Come, I will show you around."
Rebekah started to lead them down the corridor. "Your room will be here," she said softly, opening the door to her own room. "I 'ope you do not mind sharing."
"Story of our lives," Mariette commented, putting her bags down next to a bed. Mirabelle did the same.
"Come, I will introduce you to the students." Rebeakh smiled again and lead them into the caf. "This is the caf."
The Mavericks
"No, Tavvie! Be quiet!"
Demetria put her hands over her ears.
"I can't heeear you!"
"Really? Then you won't mind me making comments about your-OW!"
"Serves you right, Tav," Mordred commented.
"Maybe, but still..."
"Served you right," Vortigern said.
"Hey Bec."
Mariette, Mirabelle and Rebekah
Rebekah smiled. "Hello all... this is Mordred and Vortigern... and Octavian and Demetria. More twins."
"Hello," Mariette said quietly.
"Hey," Mirabelle said, smiling sweetly.
"This is Mariette and Mirabelle," Rebekah introduced. "They are friends of mine from Paris."
"No, you are a friend of ours from London," Mirabelle replied.
The Mavericks
"Tavvie's being bad today," Demetria warned Rebekah.
"I am not. I'm being perfectly gentlemanly. And how are you today, dearest Rebekah?" Octavian smiled.
"Ow!"
Mordred looked innocent.
"Why do you keep hurting me today?"
"Because...it's fun? And I'm bored." Mordred grinned.
Mirabella, Mariette and Rebekah
Rebekah nodded. "Thank you for the warning, Demetria. And I am quite well, Octavian, and yourself?"
She turned to Mariette and Mirabelle. "Octavian is a flirt."
"So I can see," Mariette commented.
"And if you are so bored, Mordred, why don't you... wait, where is Gwen?" Rebekah asked in confusion.
Octavian and Demetria
"Gwen is away, which is why he is bored," Octavian explained.
"Of course, he could just go and sulk somewhere. But no. Hurting me is far more interesting."
"Of course it is, Tavvie darrrrling," Demetria said with a giggle.
"Oh, smashing. Brill, even." Octavian rolled his eyes.
Mirabelle, Mariette and Rebekah
"Why don't you just... you know... nip over?" Rebekah shrugged. "Not my business, sorry. Anyway..."
"Shall we go on?" Mirabelle asked. "I am most eager to see the rest of the school."
"Yes... as am I," Mariette said half heartedly.
"Anyone feel like coming along for the ride?" Rebekah asked. "Oh, happy birthday Mordred and Vortigern! Sorry, Bobby told me this morning."
The Mavericks
"Yes!" Octavian jumped up with alacrity. "Save me Rebakeh, save me."
"Thanks, Bec," Vortigern said, smiling.
"I would nip over, but she's on a job. Best not to interrpt her."
Mordred smiled slightly.
Mirabelle and Rebekah
Rebekah nodded. "Ah, I see. Well..." She trailed off, realising she wasn't entirely sure she knew what Gwen did for a living, so she simply nodded again and waved. "I'll show you the rec room next."
"Lovely," Mirabelle commented.
Octavian
Octavian chuckled slightly.
"And we have some rather memorable memories of the rec room, don't we, Bec?"
Mirabelle, Mariette and Rebekah
"Hush, Octavian." Rebekah giggled.
"What happened in the rec room?" Mariette asked.
"Slight... problem occurred because of my power."
"Another orgy?" Mirabelle said bluntly.
"Hush, Miras!" Rebekah crinkled her eyes sheepishly.
Octavian
"I think I hear the sounds of then,
And people screaming,
The scenes recalled, by minute movement,
And things we've done, inside the rec room.
That certain texture, that certain smell,
To lie in sweat, on familiar seats,
In tangled limbs and sweat drenched hair.
In a room, of remembered kisses
That certain texture, that certain smell..." Octavian sang, grinning
cheekily.
Mairette and Rebekah
"Oh cher, vous avez écrit une chanson à son sujet..." Rebekah shook her head. (Oh dear you wrote a song about it.)
"I can not believe you caused another one, you swore you wouldn't do it again," Mariette commented.
Octavian
"I didn't write a song about it, Jono did," Octavian said.
"And it was memorable. We needed something to commemerate it."
Mariette, Mirabelle and Rebekah
"Orgies usually are," Mariette said dryly.
"Shall we move on? Danger room." Rebekah led them down to the danger room. "I'm not much of a fighter, but you, Miras, will enjoy this room."
"How nice," Mirabelle said as Rebekah showed them how it worked.
Octavian and Spike
"It's fun. Until you started having to get up for 6:00 training sessions because a Miss Clairol vitimised vampire who- Hello, Spike."
Octavian grinned.
Spike eyed him suspiciously.
"You're being rather...odd today." He looked at Rebekah with a frown. "You didn't whammy him, did you?"
"Other then with her delightful prescence, no."
Mirabelle, Mairette and Rebekah
Rebekah shook her head. "I 'ave learnt to refrain from using my powers when it comes to Octavian."
"Seems like it would be best," Mariette commented.
"Spike, this is Mariette and Mirabelle."
"Pleased to meet you," Mirabelle said.
"What she said," Mariette added.
Octavian and Spike
"Oh, you wound me," Octavian said, fluttering his eyelashes.
"Pleased to meet you two as well. And Tav? Stop that before I hurt you."
"Yes sir, mister vampire sir!"
"You're just *really* pushing it today..." Spike growled.
Rebekah
Rebekah giggled.
"Shall we move on then?"
She started to lead them out.
"Hmm... where else, any ideas, Tav?"
Octavian
"We can always annoy Dawn. That's good."
Octavian grinned.
"How are you two at playing practical jokes?"
Mariette and Rebekah
"Hmmm... never been caught so far," Mariette grinned.
"I do not like that Dawn girl... her emotions tend to be somewhat off... and selfish," Rebekah commented.
Sergei
"Yes, that's it exactly! Pity me, my sister died saving the world. That therefore means that everything I do for the rest of my life must be easy. And if it isn't, I'll cry and go kill myself."
"Talking about Dawn, tovarisch?" Sergei asked.
"How did you guess?"
"Sounded like herrr. Hello, Bec, new people."
Mairette, Mirabelle and Rebekah
"Hi," Mirabelle said, raising an eyebrow. He was hot. Actually, so was Octavian. "I'm Mirabelle."
"And I'm Mariette."
Rebekah shook her head slightly. "Hello Sergei."
Sergei and Octavian
"My name is Sergei, and I'm from Russia," Sergei introduced himself.
"Ignore him, he's drunk."
"I am not...well, not yet," Sergei said with dignity.
"Of course you aren't, Sergei." Octavian patted the taller teen on the head.
"You are really being a mudlack today, why is dat?" Sergei asked as he grabbed Octavian's wrist.
"I felt like it."
Octavian twisted his hand and slid it out of Sergei's grasp.
Rebekah
Rebekah shook his head. "One day, Octavian, you are going to get yourself into some serious trouble, and I for one, will not stop it."
Octavian
Octavian grinned.
"Maybe. But I'll probably be able to talk my way out of it."
"Or sleep your way out of it."
"That too."
Rebekah
Rebekah shook her head.
"You are impossible. Anyway, let's move on. Where else?"
Sergei and Octavian
"I am impossible, but you love me anyway."
Sergei raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Sure ding, tovarisch. You keep telling yourself dat."
"I tell myself that everyone loves me every day."
Octavian's blue eyes twinkled slightly.
"And now we see why you have such deep rooted psycological problems..."
Sergei shook his head slightly.
"Anyvay, Jono wants us to have a practice."
"You can come and watch us if you like. And that's the other thing. We got a gig."
Octavian beamed.
Mariette, Mirabelle and Rebekah
"You guys wanna watch?" Rebekah asked.
Mariette shook her head but Mirabelle said yes.
"Cool. And yeah, I got the same gig, Octavian, dear," Rebekah smiled. "So I will also be going to Tulsa."
Octavian and Sergei
"Absolutely smashing, darling girl!" Octavian grinned.
"But we best be off before Jono gets impatient."
Sergei shook his head.
"You're..."
"Fantastic? Wonderful?"
"Full of it."
"Anyway...shall we get going?"
Mariette, Mirabelle and Rebekah
Mariette waved and headed back to her room and Rebekah and Mirabelle followed them.
"Yes, but I'm going first," Rebekah said.
Displaced
"Yes, Faith did mention that tidbit of infomation."
Octavian opened the door of their band room and walked through.
Jonothon looked up from where he was tuning his guitar.
Nice to see you could make it, mate.
"We have some guests, Jono."
Jonothon tilted his head slightly as Rebekah and Mirabelle entered.
"This is Mirabelle. She's one half of a new set of twins."
"What, we don't have enough?" Angelo asked.
"Twins are more special then other people," Octavian said.
"You should feel priveledged there are so many of us."
Yeah, wotever mate. Nice to meet ya, Mirabelle.
Mirabelle and Rebekah
"Thank you," Mirabelle said, smiling slightly.
Rebekah gestured to some seats and they sat down.
"Are you excited about it? It's a paying gig," Rebekah said.
Displaced
Yeah. It's great. Jonothon strummed a few chords on his guitar.
"He's not going to jinx it by being overly emotional," Octavian said.
"Ignore him. He's being weird today." Sergei slung his guitar strap over his shoulder and tuned it.
Octavian grinned as he put his violin to his chin and ran the bow across it to hear how much he needed to tune it. Not that much.
Rebekah and Mirabelle
Rebekah grinned.
"He is weird all of the time."
Mirabelle frowned. "He is? Maybe Mariette and I should reconsider living here."
"You'll get used to it."
"Do I want to?"
"That's a very good point."
Displaced
"I am not weird all the time," Octavian protested.
"You're weird and British."
"Being British is not a bad thing."
That's true. Could be worse. He could be Russian.
"Hey!" Sergei said, mock angrily.
You know it's true, Sergei. Anyway, let's get onto the music side of things.
"Which?"
"What are we going to sing for the gig? We should practice those," Angelo said.
We'll sing...Displaced, Students and Teachers, Just Another Day...Rebekah, any ideas?
Rebekah and Mirabelle
"Something that people can dance too," Rebekah suggested. "It is a club."
Mirabelle looked excited. "May we come along?"
"Oui, you must keep me company!"
"And I agree, there is nothing wrong with being British," Mirabelle said, her nose up high in the air. She smiled.
Displaced
That Jet one, maybe? Jonothon suggested.
"That one is pretty bouncy," Angelo agreed.
"Any favourites from the two concerts we did at school?" Sergei asked.
Rebekah and Mirabelle
"Um... California Dreaming? That was a very good one," Rebekah commented, lazily sitting back in her chair and studying her nails.
"Have you seen Filipo and Terence?" Mirabelle asked quietly.
"Non. But I have spoken to them."
Displaced
Ok, so we got Displaced, Students and Teachers, Just Another Day, California Dreaming and Are you gonna be my girl? Jonothon looked at his band members. That sound alright to you lot?
"Yeah, sounds fine. Two covers and three originals." Sergei nodded.
"Cool." Angelo rattled off a drum roll. "Should we get started then?"
/Yeah. Displaced first.
"Never know my way back home
Since I been displaced
Something's missing
Something's gone
You know, you really never can go back home..."
Rebekah and Mirabelle
"They're good, no?" Rebekah said, turning to Mirabelle.
"Yes, they are," Mirabelle replied.
"We are doing a school musical!" Rebekah set about describing the production and who everyone was playing.
Displaced
"I am, of course, the evil Duke." Octavian made his violin moan uneasily.
"It's going to be fun," Sergei said, grinning.
"How are singing rehearsals with Vortigern going?" Angelo inquired.
Rebekah
"Very well."
Rebekah frowned.
"That does remind me, I would like to have another one later."
She smiled slightly.
"He is very good, but... he will not accept that. We are, of course, having slight troubles with some of the high notes... for both of us."
Displaced
"You get that sometimes," Octavian said agreeably. "And he's never going to accept a compliment. That's just the way he is."
"He's the total oposite of Mordred."
"Oh yes. Quite." Octavian smiled. "Funny how things work out."
"Another song?" Angelo suggested.
Jonothon nodded. Are you gonna be my girl?
"Isn't that Rogue's job?" Octavian teased. He deflected the ball of paper easily, and then they started to play.
Rebekah and Mirabelle
"Per'aps Vortigern should learn to accept them..." Rebekah paused thoughtfully. "I will speak to him later about more rehearsals. Give him today off, it is his birthday."
"That would be kind of you," Mirabelle grinned.
"I like this song," Rebekah said thoughtfully.
"What are you singing?"
"Not sure."
Sergei
"Somthing ballad-y?" Sergei suggested.
"We're pretty much hard rock, bit of punk overtones...something a bit softer could be nice."
Rebekah and Mirabelle
Rebekah nodded.
"I mostly do sing ballads."
"How did they put it? Ballady, angsty, he doesn't love me, songs?" Mirabelle said, with a slight smirk.
"Hush, Miras." Rebekah blushed.
"They were right."
"Oui, but that is not the point. And yes, I think I'll sing 'Waiting To Exhale', 'Ex-factor' and something else."
Displaced
"That's the hard thing, what are you going to perform?" Octavian said dryly.
"At least we've tentavily decided," Sergei said.
"Yeah..." Angelo nodded.
They practiced 'Students and Teachers'.
Rebekah and Mirabelle
Rebekah and Mirabelle clapped.
"Per'aps we should go check on Mariette," Rebekah said, standing up.
"Good idea."
They stood up and started to leave.
"You like Octavian, do you not?" Mirabelle asked quietly.
"Hush."
Displaced
"See you later," Angelo said cheerfully.
"Nice to meet you, Mirabelle."
"Da!"
Mirabelle and Rebekah
"Likewise," Mirabelle replied.
She and Rebekah went back to check on Mariette.
