Aaralyn and Thackery
Aaralyn felt herself drift back into consciousness, and with that came a headache. She groaned and shook her head from side to side trying to get back into her sences.
Thackery looked to her and sighed with relief.
" Hey there sleeping beauty, you gonna be alright?" Thackery asked with concearn.
Aaralyn groaned then slowly opened her eyes to a slight blurry vision of Thackery.
" What happened?" Aaralyn asked, not sure. Thackery sighed.
" Don't worry about it right now Aara just rest, you bumped your head pretty hard."
Aaralyn groaned as her vision started to clear." Bumped? Sure I didn't get attacked by a jack hammer?" She asked in a sarcastic tone.
Thackery smiled a bit.
" Your alright Aara." He replied.
Aaralyn looked to the clock beside her bed. " How long have you been here? I sure hope I didn't keep you from anything important."
Thackery shook his head." No nothing was important, you were my main concearn at that time. I've been here since yesterday afternoon. You had a bad fall and bumped your head. Your alright now though."
Aaralyn groaned and sat up and then attempted to stand up, a dizzy spell hit and she layed back down.
" Where are you attempted to go to?" Thackery asked in concearn.
Aaralyn looked to him." I need a drink, and then the rest is up to your imagination."
Thackery walked to the door." I'll get you a drink, just stay until your sure you can stand up." With that he went to the kitchen and opened the refridgerator door.
He took a look at the contents before grabbing a bottle of water and headed back.
" Here." Thackery said handing it to her as she looked at it then took it and opened the top.
" Thanks." She replied taking a long drink from it then set it down on the bed looking at Thackery.
Aaralyn sighed looking into his eyes. How she longed for a caring set of hands, and someone to care for her. She knew she also had to be careful, she knew that she was a loner with Thackery but she wasn't sure how they would be in a real relationship. She wasn't sure of anything. She gave a long sigh.
" Share your thoughts?" Thackery asked raising his eyebrows, noticing Aaralyn gazing at him in some sort of a daze.
Aaralyn shook her head a little." No, I was just thinking, nothing important."
Thackery nodded. " Ok cool. If ya need to talk I'm right here."
" I can see..." She paused and then looked at him in the eyes again." Why'd you come to help me? I mean why did you stay?"
Thackery looked away and shrugged." We've been friends for almost 2 months now, and were both kinda on the same track here. Were both loners." He smiled and laughed.
Aaralyn looked at him before shaking his head." Why do you care?" Thackery looked at her in interest.
" I don't exactly know how to answer that Aara. You've made it quite clear you only want to be friends, and friends help another, they are there for one another. What I was doing was being a friend." Thackery said softly putting his hand to her hair rubbing his hand across it softly.
Aaralyn reached up gently stopping his hand.
" It's more then that." She replied in almost in a whisper before turning away.
" More than what? More then friendship?" Thackery asked.
Aaralyn shook her head.
" No, you feel more then a friend...and I feel so lost Thacks. I want to get my thoughts together. I want to know what I want. I never said anything about wanting to be just friends, but can't you see I wasn't ready, and I'm still not sure. Your the first guy to care alright? The boyfriend I told you about was nothing like you, he wouldn't of even cared if I died before he knew about my power. I will admit that, it was my fault, I was drunk!" She paused as the tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
Thackery sat down next to Aaralyn.
" Everything will work out Aara, just let things fall into place." Thackery told her softly as he watched her lie her head on his right shoulder and shook her head.
" I don't know Thacks...I wish I understood things now. I wish I could know what desitions I was supposed to make! For goodness sakes, I'm only 19! I want every problem to go away and I want questions answered! I want to live a life without fear, but I can't! Look at me!"
Thackery gently put his hand around her shoulder as she leant in, this time sobbing.
" It will be alright, you'll see, everything will work out. I promise. Your not alone in this Aara, I'm in it with you. I seen the conversation on the computer with Max, and I promise nothing will happen to you."
Thackery said leaning his head against hers.
Aaralyn just nodded relaxing against Thackery letting her eyes close deep in thought.
Thackery gave a sigh.
" I promise." He whispered
