Friday
"Day?"
"What?"
Susie climbed up the tree and sat in a nearby branch.
"You okay?"
"I happen to resent being forced into this vampire loving community of yours."
"Well, firsty, we don't love vampires. Secondly, we didn't force you. You were destined to."
Friday spat at the ground.
"The only destiny I believe in is the one you make for yourself. Prophecy? Fate? Load of crap."
Susie sighed.
"Would you prefer gifted then?"
"I have enough 'gifts' to concern myself with without having to deal with vampires as well. Y'know, people are gonna start thinking I'm greedy or something."
Susie smiled.
"I don't freaking want this crap!"
"Y'know... just because you don't want it, doesn't mean you can avoid it," Susie pointed out. "Last night... that won't be the last vampire you'll ever see."
"Why freaking me? Why not someone else?"
"Some questions nobody can answer."
Friday sighed.
"Day? I know it's hard -"
"How can you?"
"But please, at least continue your training. No one's telling you have to take this full time, and at least next time you meet a vampire - and there will be a next time - you'll be able to handle them better."
"Not full time - yet," Susie thought to herself.
"Fine. Whatever," Friday muttered, then paused and turned herself into a girl. "One condition."
"Oh?"
"I want to use sais. I love Elektra."
Susie laughed.
"I'm sure something can be arranged - but you will have to learn to use other weapons - stakes especially."
"Right, turning vampires into dust crap."
"You saw it happen last night."
"Don't remind me."
