18 October 2003 - Delivered, As Promised

Nessa and Michelle

Faith

Faith's hand hovered in the air. Paige had begrudgingly picked her up from New York and brought her here to see Zac. That girl really deserved a present.

She looked down and almost regretted her clothing choice. Leather pants, gothic style singlet. Well, it wasn't intentional, she did happen to own a lot of leather. Ok, it was partly intentional, it was really to test herself and Zac.

She took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

Zac

Zac opened the door.

Faith was standing there.

In leather.

Okay so the leather wasn't unusual, but it didn't help matters.

"Hey," he said. "Umm, ahh, come in..."

Zac stepped aside to allow her room to get through the door.

Faith

Faith followed him in.

She could do this.

She could.

"So, uh... how are ya? Since... you know, last night?"

Zac

"I'm good," Zac replied. "Actually... I'm a little surprised you came. I... I was sorta half thinking you wouldn't. Not that I'm complianing or anything."

"Zac, stop babbling."

Faith

"Well, I said I would, didn't I?"

Faith smiled nervously.

"And I don't like to go back on my word. So... uh..."

"Don't kiss him, don't kiss him, don't kiss him, yes Faith, I know he's looking hot, I can see it... seeing as I'm you, you're thinking in the third person, this can't be healthy."

Zac and Isaac

"I'll keep that in mind," Zac replied.

"Zac? Who's - oh hi Faith," Isaac said, walking in.

"Ike! Yes, Faith's here. Come from New York, 'cause that's where she's been staying lately..."

"You're babbling again Zac," he thought to himself. "Meh. Oh well, at least having Ike in the same room will help give me some restraint..."

"Erm, should I go?" Isaac asked, raising an eyebrow.

Faith

"If Ike leaves, I'm going to kiss Zac... hell if Ike stays, I'm going to kiss Zac."

Faith shook her head.

"No, I'd hate to kick you out of your own room... again. Stay, I insist."

Inside she was half begging him to stay and hald begging him to leave.

It was all very confusing.

Zac and Isaac

"Yeah, you don't have to go, Ike," Zac said.

Isaac nodded, eyeing them suspiciously.

"I think..." he said, "that I will play with Saku while you two catch up."

"Saku! Have you met Saku yet Faith? I don't think you have."

Faith

"Uh, no, I haven't. But, I'd like to."

Faith smiled at Zac, then briefly considered doing a runner. She was fast... he'd never be able to catch her.

This was a mistake.

No it wasn't.

"Shut up, brain. You've never helped me before."

Zac and Isaac

"I'll introduce ya," Zac said. "Erm... okay where did that cat go? Meh, you can't take your eyes off him for a minute."

Isaac grinned and produced the rubber mouse from a corner of the room.

"Bet I can find him..."

He sent the mouse running around the room, sure enough, Saku came out to chase it.

Faith

Faith smiled.

"Awww, how cute."

She paused.

"He has a lot of energy. Probably like his... so, how about the weather?"

Zac and Isaac

"Weather's okay. Little too cold here though," Zac replied.

"Aha! So that's what's going on," Isaac mused. "They don't trust themselves around each other. Aww, how sweet."

Saku pounced on the mouse and bit it before it ran off again.

Faith

Faith nodded.

"It's been nice in New York."

She paused.

"So far... the nights are fairly cold, which is not so good, when I'm patrolling and all... getting sweaty with the vampires."

Zac

Zac gulped.

"You're ummm, you're not planning on patrolling here... are you?" he asked nervously, remember what she had told him about it's effect on her.

Faith

"Uh... no."

Faith bit her lip.

"Unless I'm here for longer than I thought. But... I'm not really prepared for it anyway."

Zac and Isaac

"Okay cool," Zac replied. "C'mere Saku!"

Saku ignored him and continued chasing the mouse. Isaac brought the mouse over to them, and Zac picked him up. Saku mewed in complaint.

"Saku," Zac said. "I want you to meet Faith. Faith, this is Saku."

Faith

Faith smiled.

"Hi Saku."

"Wow, this is awkward."

Zac and Isaac

Saku mewed, then started wiggling.

"Okay, okay," Zac replied. "Go back to your mouse."

He shook his head as he put Saku on the floor. Isaac grinned as he sent the mouse running around the room.

"He's a good kid. Well, considering he's a cat - weredathrian - he's a good kid."

Faith

Faith laughed.

"Well then you're doing a good job at raising them. Another talent?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Zac and Isaac

"Yes, yes it is," Zac chuckled. "Heck I'm just the walking embodiment of talent."

Isaac raised an eyebrow.

"You are?"

"Yes I am."

"Uh huh, sure, Zac."

Faith

"Yeah, talent."

Faith grinned.

"A talent of having no talent."

Zac and Isaac

Isaac laughed.

"Good call," he grinned.

"I'm cut," Zac pouted.

"Nope, nope. You just have nothing compared to Saku, Zac," Isaac said, then turned to Faith. "Saku he's got like an uber pout of doom."

Faith

Faith smiled.

"I don't know, Ike, that pout used to work on me."

She raised an eyebrow.

"Used to, Zac, your pout no longer wields power around me."

Zac and Isaac

Zac grinned.

"I bet I can -" he began before clamping his hand over his power.

"Oooh, was Zac going to say something wrong?" Isaac asked.

Zac nodded.

Faith

"What were you going to say?"

Faith pouted, wondering if hers still worked on him.

"Tell me, please?"

Zac and Isaac

Zac shook his head, his hand still clamped over his mouth. Isaac grinned and pulled it off. Zac was silent for about two seconds then said:

"I bet I can do something else that'll work on you, and it involves - no I better not say it around Ike's virgin ears..."

Isaac raised an eyebrow.

Faith

"A spa?"

Faith's eyes twinkled mischieviously.

"And I have a few things that will work on you too, Zachary, so you're not the one with full power."

Zac and Isaac

"Hmm... spa works, but that's not what I was gonna say," Zac winked.

"I don't think I wanna know," Isaac said.

"See? I told you! Virgin ears."

"Zac..."

"Yes?"

"Nevermind."

Faith

Faith's expression turned curious.

"Now you have to tell me!"

She pouted.

"Zaaaaaaaaaaac! I'll force you to come patrolling with me... and make you watch me get sweaty!"

Zac and Isaac

Zac looked at Faith, then at Isaac.

"If she does, will you vouch for the fact that she made me, and thus I am not responsible for the consequences?"

Isaac laughed.

"And you can use the opportunity to tell her."

"Maybe I could - no I'll shut up."

Faith

"Zaaaaaaaaaaaac!" Faith laughed. "Come on!"

She grinned evilly.

"Otherwise next time I come see you, I'll wear the crotchless leather pants."

Zac

Zac's eyes glinted.

"Please do," he replied.

Ahh, if only she knew... mwa ha ha ha ha!

Faith

Faith stomped her foot lightly.

"Zac!"

She frowned for a second, then shrugged.

"If you don't... I'll kiss you."

Zac and Isaac

Zac paused.

"Ike?"

"Yeah?"

"Does one kiss count as cheating?"

"With you Zac? Probably not."

"Hmm. In that case, lay one on me, Faithy-baby!"

Faith

Faith frowned.

"Ah, well if you don't tell me, I won't kiss you!"

She crossed her arms.

"Come on... come on! Tell me, Zac, I'll do anything."

She paused.

"Ok, maybe not anything..."

Zac and Isaac

Zac pulled a rather ambivolous expression.

"See, here's the thing," he said. "I'd rather like to take her up on her offer, but that would defintely mean cheating on Rach. On the other hand, I told Rach if she wanted some lovin' and I wasn't around, she could sleep with someone else..."

"You have issues, Zac."

"I know, I know. I'm trying so hard to be good, but when a sexy woman in leather says she'll do anything..."

Faith

"Zac, tell me, or I will kick you in the seat of your pants."

Faith raised an eyebrow.

"Do you honestly wanna piss me off?"

She smiled cheekily.

Zac and Isaac

"I shoulda just taken you up on your offer instead on conversing with Ike," Zac nodded.

Isaac snickered.

Faith

"How unfair."

Faith pouted.

"I really don't know how else to get you to tell me, unless I... oh no, I better not."

Zac and Isaac

"Oh why don't you two just sleep with each other and get it over with?" Isaac asked, shaking his head.

"But but... that would be cheating..."

"Never stopped you before."

"Point."

"And you've been celbate."

"Also a point."

"Rachel's in New York."

"You're not helping Ike."

"Yeah, I am. I'm helping myself stop hearing this."

Faith

Faith laughed.

"Ike, you were meant to be our safety net. If all else failed, you were the supposed to be the sensible one who saw how wrong it was."

Zac and Isaac

"Oh it is wrong," Isaac assured her. "It very wrong and you should both be very ashamed of yourselves if you go ahead with it. But if you guys are going ton continue flirting like this - I mean, there are just some things... y'know..."

"Virgin ears," Zac nodded.

"Zac, you're an idiot."

"Takes one to know one."

"At least I can keep it in my pants."

Faith

Faith grinned.

"Ike raises a good point, Zac."

She paused.

"And no commenting on my points."

Zac and Isaac

"Dang," Zac joked.

Isaac shook his head.

"See? Just... can it with the sexual flirting okay?"

Faith

Faith nodded.

"Zac started it."

She took a deep breath.

"Ok, so... bout that local sports team..."

Zac and Isaac

Isaac looked confused as Zac cracked up laughing.

"Riiiiight..."

"I think they suck," Zac chuckled. "They just can't seem to get the ball in the goal..."

Faith

Faith frowned.

"Ok, I was honestly trying to be good then. He just took it the wrong way. Clearly, there's no help for him."

She turned to Ike.

"You wanna go get a cup of coffee with me? Leave Zac alone?"

Zac and Isaac

"Aww..." Zac complained. "C'mon Faithy, you know you love me."

"I'm staying out of this one," Isaac replied.

Faith

"Yeah I do. But I'm not gonna say that again."

"Yeah, I do."

Faith mentally kicked herself.

"Stupid brain, you never stop me from doing anything."

"But not in the way you'd like me too."

"Good save, Slayer..."

Zac and Isaac

"Hmm... how do you know which way I'd like you to love me?" Zac asked.

"Guys..." Isaac trailed off and shook his head.

If they wanted to beat around the bush and not admit they were still crazy about each other, that was fine with him.

Faith

"Well, I'm just saying that I'd be the opposite of the way you'd like me to because I like arguing with you."

Faith smiled.

"Because it keeps me from kissing you..."

She turned to Ike.

"Yeah?"

Zac and Isaac

"Nothing," Isaac said.

"I like it when you argue with me," Zac said. "It turns me on - no I'm sorry. Bad Zac."

Faith

"Yes, bad Zac. Just as well as you don't like spankings anymore."

Faith smiled triumphantly at Zac.

Zac and Isaac

Zac opened his mouth to say something, then closed it.

"I don't think I want to know," Isaac replied.

"Well, as long as you don't try to stop me from sitting down for a week like Rach seemed to want to do -"

"I told you I didn't want to know."

Faith

"Keep in mind I could hit you harder than Rachel."

Faith grinned.

"Anyways, we're sullying your brothers ears and mind with bad images. Shall we go for coffee?"

Zac and Isaac

"Umm..."

"You two go," Isaac said. "I'm sure in public you guys wouldn'get up to anything, and I can keep an eye on Saku."

"That's... that's not a problem?" Zac asked.

"No problem. Go on."

Faith

"Thanks Ike," Faith said softly.

She looked at Zac.

"Lead the way..."

Zac

"Okay then," Zac said.

He linked arms with Faith and departed the hotel room.

"Soooo..."

Faith

"So."

Faith looked around.

"I'm lost already."

Zac

Zac laughed.

"The elevator is right over there," he grinned, pointing.

He led her inside and pressed the button for the ground floor.

Faith

As they stood in the elevator, Faith realised a few things.

The music was annoying.

And the uncomfortable silence was even worse.

A loud thud and the elevator jolted, Faith losing balance and falling on Zac as the lights flicked off then on.

"Oh that can't be good."

Zac

Zac looked up at Faith and couldn't help but smile.

"I dunno... it looks pretty good from down here."

Faith

Faith bit her lip as she begged herself not to kiss him. She got off him.

"Sorry about that."

She got to her feet and tried pressing the buttons.

"Uh... Zac? Me thinks we're kinda stuck."

Zac

Zac got up slowly.

"Guess so..." he said.

Okay this was... interesting. Trapped in an elevator with Faith, someone whom he had serious problems keeping his hands off.

Faith

Faith looked around for the phone in the elevator. She opened the door and groaned. It was gone.

"Oh man, we're gonna be here for ages."

She slid down the wall and sat on the ground.

Ok, she was in an elevator with Zac, who was looking really tempting, and she really wanted to - BAD! Bad Faith!

Zac

Zac looked around.

"I could probably get us out of here with my atom manipulation. But that would only start unwanted questions. So I guess we having to wait."

He paused, wondering if he should sit down next to Faith or across from her.

Faith

"And I don't know how far we are from the last level... coz I could've probably climbed out... and gotten help."

Faith sighed.

She was starting to get claustraphobic.

Zac

Zac sighed.

Okay, this was awkward.

"Talk. The silence is killing me," Zac complained.

Faith

"Um..."

Faith bit her lip and leaned her head back against the wall.

"So, how did the concert go yesterday?"

Zac

"Twas good," Zac replied, finally deciding to sit next to Faith. "The crowd was amazing. Well, as always. It's good to have crowds that are always amazing."

Silence.

"Umm, so how has New York been?"

Faith

"Ah you know what they say, New York, New York, it's a hell of a town."

Faith paused.

"Well, I've never really seen you play, I should come watch a concert."

Zac

Zac smiled at Faith.

"That would be great. Then you can see me get all sweaty. No, I'm sorry."

Faith

"I've seen you sweaty. Ok, now I'm sorry."

Faith bit her lip.

"This is really not the best situation for us to be in."

Zac

"Yeah, probably not," Zac agreed.

He sighed.

"It just... we always... I really want to do you right now. But then I always do. And I hope someone fixes the elevator soon, because otherwise I'm gonna do something we'll probably regret."

Faith

Faith nodded.

"Yeah, if someone doesn't come to fix this... then I'm... hell, I'm already about a step away from jumping you... I... it's always been really difficult for us, hasn't it? We've never had much self control apart, let alone together."

Zac

"Yeah," Zac said. "And I... I dunno... We can't be friends. We can't be more than friends. We can't be apart or enemies either. So, what do we do?"

Faith

Faith sighed.

"I don't know."

She took Zac's hand.

"Maybe, after your birthday, I leave your life."

Zac

"But I... I don't want you to."

Zac looked down at their hands.

"Faith, I... this whole thing sucks."

He looked into her eyes.

Faith

Tears welled up in Faith's eyes.

"Zac, I don't want to leave, but..."

She lifted her hand to wipe a tear away.

"I don't see any other way... we can't be around each other, otherwise... we're... too... tempted."

Faith's eyes strayed to his lips.

Zac

Zac lifted his hand and touched the side of her face.

"Can't live together. Can't live apart..."

He unconsciously moved closer.

Faith

Faith closed her eyes briefly, wanting to remember the feel of Zac's hand against her cheek. She moved her own hand up and placed it on top of his hand, gently caressing.

"We're just... too... tempted..."

Faith moved closer.

Zac

"Way too tempted," Zac agreed, his voice dying down to a whisper.

His lips came in contact with hers.

Faith

Faith closed her eyes as she kissed him back, her arms going around his neck slowly. She pulled back, her breathing uneven.

"This... it's... not..."

She leaned in and kissed him again, a tear sliding down her cheek.

She was still trying to work out how it could be so wrong when things felt so right...

Zac

Zac put one arm around Faith's waist and the other moved to the back of her head. He kissed her as if he would never get to again.

And the way things were going, that could well be the case. Actually, rephrase statement: if their plans came to pass it would be the case. At the rate things were going, that would never be the case.

Faith

Faith let one of her hands gently run through Zac's hair. She pulled back slightly.

"I love you," she whispered.

She covered his lips with her own again.

Zac

Zac held her to him tighter.

"And I love you," he replied.

His hand tugged at the hem of her shirt.

Faith

Faith moved down to kiss his neck, then went back to his lips. She reached behind her and lifted her shirt slightly, letting Zac's hands touch her skin, knowing somehow that it was wrong, but not wanting to break away.

Zac

Zac caressed Faith's lower back. The hand on the back of her neck drifted down to her thigh.

He knew he shouldn't. He knew he should stop this right now. But he just... couldn't.

Faith

Faith's lips left Zac's for a second as she helped him pull his shirt over his head. As soon as it was off, she went back to kissing him, softly.

This was wrong, but also right. It was physically hurting not having Zac in her life...

Zac

Zac's hand slipped further up her back and traced the back of her bra. His tongue played games with hers.

The nagging voice in the back of him mind saying this should stop got more and more distant.

Faith

Faith let a hand wander down to undo his pants, her grasp on what was right and wrong flickering out and leaving. She moved closer to Zac, which was barely even possible, to be that close to someone without being on them.

"I... I miss you," she said, her mouth on his neck, sucking at a patch of skin and leaving a love bite.

Zac

Zac lifted Faith's shirt right off and unhooked her bra.

"I miss you too," he whispered, "like a eagle needs his wings."

He started kissing her neck.

Faith

Faith shifted, and then started to pull Zac's pants off, her hand going down to stroke him through his boxers.

She moved so Zac would have a greater access to her neck.

Zac

Zac shivered and kissed her more vigorously. He lowered her gently to the floor and took off her bra.

Damn it felt so good to have her in his arms around. To touch her, to kiss her. To feel her skin.

Faith

Faith unbuttoned her pants before her hands pulled Zac's boxers off completely, one hand caressing his length, while the other was tracing the outline of his jaw, her mouth never leaving his. Kissing him hungrily.

Zac

Zac helped Faith get her pants all the way off and started on her underwear with one hand. The other was busy caressing her stomach.

He wanted to tell her again, that he loved her, but he didn't want to stop kissing her.

Faith

Faith's hands never left Zac's length, stroking gently, tenderly, as her mouth breathed soft kisses on his mouth, cheeks, neck.

"I love you so much," she murmured, her lips immediately pressed back to his neck.

Zac

"I love you too, my beautiful one," Zac said quietly.

It was a damn good thing the elevator didn't get fixed in the following hour, because the repairmen would have been in for a rude shock.

Faith

Faith lay in Zac's arms, before she realised where they were. She let out a little giggle.

"Maybe we should get dressed in case... someone comes to save us."

She touched Zac's face gently.

"But thank you..."

Zac

"Yeah, that might be a good idea," Zac chuckled. "And believe me, Faithy, it was my pleasure."

He was just about to sit up, when he noticed somthing. His eyes widened.

"Oh... damn..."

Faith

Faith reached for her bra and absently put it on, then grabbed her shirt.

"Oh God, what?"

Zac

Zac grabbed his pants.

"There's sorta, kinda a security camera up there."

He didn't even point, just hurredly got his pants back on.

Faith

Faith quickly put her hirt on then her pants, buttoning as quickly as she could.

"Oh that's... oh that's so not good."

Zac

"Definitely not good," Zac agreed. "Not good at all. Very bad. Very, very bad. Very, very, very bad - Zac this isn't helping, shut up."

He pulled on his shirt and then glared up at the camera.

"I hope they enjoyed the show. Maybe we'll get some help here now."

Faith

Faith groaned.

"Oh yeah, that'll have been recorded. Well, I guess..." she tried for a weak joke. "We never did film ourselves."

She sighed as she put her shoes back on.

Zac

"Well, there's a flipping reason for that," Zac glowered. "Number one, it's pretty gross to record - and then watch yourself having sex. Number two, I really wouldn't want anyone to get their hands on shut a tape and use it for, oh I don't know, blackmail?"

Faith

Faith nodded, then reached up and punched through the camera.

"A little late, but at least now I can probably break us out without being discovered."

She looked up at the roof and jumped.

"Ok, I'll need a boost."

She paused and bit her lip.

"I'm sorry."

Zac

Zac softly kissed her lips.

"It's okay," he said quietly. "Not anymore your fault than it is mine."

He clasped his hands together to give her a leg up.

Faith

Faith punched through the roof and winced.

"Ok, that actually hurt."

She used her hands to open the roof up, then hoisted herself through the opening, and loooked down at Zac.

"Ok... the next level isn't actually that high up, we could probably climb."

Zac

Zac nodded.

"Okay, cool. And if you let me go first, I can make some hand and foot holds."

He climbed up the evevator wall, making some foot and hand holds with his atom maniplaution and fixed them up again as he stoped needing them.

Faith

Faith frowned at the distance, she could probably jump if she... nah, better not. She followed the path on the wall Zac had made and hoisted herself up onto the level.

"Ok, now to open the doors."

She wriggled her fingers, which, like most of her, was covered in soot, then walked over to the door and started to pry it open.

Zac

While Faith was working on the door, Zac closed up all the holds he had made, except for the ones they were using.

He was uncertain as to what to say. They had just had sex. Despite their best efforts to control themselves... they did it again.

Faith

Faith felt a bead of sweat fall from her forehead to her chest. She continued pulling at the door, and it finally opened.

She smiled triumphantly.

"Tired now, but happy."

Zac

Zac nodded and followed her though the door.

"Yeah, same," he said.

Faith

"So um..."

Faith paused awkwardly and let out a short laugh.

"We're both now very dirty."

Zac

"Yeah. We should probably get back to the hotel room and have a shower," Zac said, then paused and added. "Seperate showers."

Faith

"Yeah."

Faith nodded.

"Good idea. I need to get out of these clothes."

She bit her lip.

"Uh, coz they're dirty."

Zac

"Umm, yeah..." Zac said, deciding it was best to agree.

He looked back the the elevator to see what floor they were on.

"Okay, we need to go up another level... but let's take the stairs."

Faith

"Good idea."

They walked over to the door for the stair access and Faith pushed it open.

"Um... what are we gonna do about that tape? We could probably break into the office and destroy it."

Zac

Zac was silent for a moment.

"I... I don't know," he admitted. "I mean... there are probably going to be some people in there, and they may still be using the media they're recording it on and, damn it I don't know! I wish I had flipping known about the stupid camera before we... before we..."

He trailed off.

Faith

"Agreed."

Faith bit her lip.

"Not that, you know, it was't nice and all... but, uh..."

She stopped talking as they climbed the stairs.

Zac

"I know," Zac nodded. "We did exactly what we were trying not to do."

He sighed as they reach the landing and opened up the door.

Faith

"Don't we always?"

Faith bit her lip as she walked through the door.

Zac

"Yeah, s'pose," Zac replied.

He resisted the tempation to put his arm around her waist.

"This way," he said, heading towards the hotel room.

Faith

Faith followed him, just waiting for Ike's reaction to seeing them all dirty.

It was a mistake.

But a good one.

Sorta.

Zac and Isaac

Zac walked though the door.

"Hey, you're back," Isaac greeted.

Then he paused, eyed them, and raised an eyebrow.

"Don't tell me, I don't wanna hear it."

Zac managed a wry grin.

"You use the shower first, Faith," Zac said.

Faith

Faith gave a small smile and went into the bathroom, and closed the door.

She stripped off and turned on the taps, then hopped in, watching as the water turned black around her. She sighed, finished up and dried off, then put her clothes back on, dusting them off slightly. The soot wiped right off the leather, and it's a good thing her singlet was black anyway.

She twisted her hair up on her head and pinned it up with the clips in her pants pocket, as she walked back out to the room.

"Thanks... I should... uh... go."

Zac

Zac nodded.

"Okay," he said quietly. "I'm sorry that... that things ended up how they did."

Faith

Faith reached out and touched Zac's cheek affectionately.

"Hey, nothing to be sorry about."

She pressed her lips to his forehead.

"You'll hear from me on your birthday... I lov... I'll see you later."

She left the room and called Paige to get her.

Zac and Isaac

Zac watched Faith leave and chewed his lip as the door closed.

"Like that, huh?" Isaac asked.

"I don't wanna talk about it."

Isaac nodded and Zac headed for the shower.
