16 October 2003 - Little Taste Of Sunnydale

Nessa and Tegan

Anya

Anya walked through the construction site, wiping the dust off her skirt, observing the workers who were in the process of building their club. She went back over to Andrew.

"So the bar will be here, slightly in the corner... just like back home."

Anya paused and surveyed the room.

"We'll have the stage here... the stairs are pretty ordinary, shall we get iron ones? Upstairs looks good, with the balcony..."

Andrew

"I'm still shocked that we're doing this," Andrew said, looking around.

"Do you really think we can pull it off?"

Anya

Anya preened slightly.

"Andrew, we hail from Sunnydale, ok so I just lived there for a bit but still, land of survivors. Plus, I ran a business back there too."

Andrew

"That's true."

Andrew grinned at her.

"Wow, Anya! Our own club!"

Anya

Anya hugged him.

"I know, it's so..."

She grasped for the right word.

"Grown up? Our own Bronze!"

Andrew

Andrew stiffened slightly when she hugged him, purely out of shock, then relaxed into it and hugged her back carefully.

"It's very cool. Epitome of coolness. Verging on the coolness that is Oz, in fact."

Anya

Anya nodded.

"This is where the bouncer will stand... and collect money."

Andrew

"Because that's the point. We get money."

Andrew grinned.

"Sometimes capitilism just rocks."

He walked over to another area.

"And here's where the bar's gonna be."

Anya

"Yes, money is good."

Anya followed Andrew.

"And we'll put some couches in here. And tables. And chairs."

Andrew

"And we'll have a dancefloor..."

Andrew looked at where the builders were working.

"Sound system, lights, the works. It's gonna be so great."

Anya

"Stage for bands."

Anya paused.

"Pool tables."

She pointed to a blank area.

"Toilets."

Andrew

"Backstage...which will have change rooms and stuff for the bands. Store room here, staff room..."

Andrew shook his head as he looked around.

"I'm still in shock here."

Anya

Anya smiled happily.

"I know, our own business."

She looked around again.

"But it will be fun. Our next move is to find a house, I guess."

Andrew

"Yeah, and it's gonna have to be big...we've still got all those Potentials staying with us."

Andrew shook his head slightly.

"You know, we should make them get jobs."

Anya

Anya nodded.

"Yes, they can learn how to live in the world then."

She paused.

"If this club is successful, maybe we should think about opening a 'Magic Box'."

Andrew

"Yeah, that would also be cool."

Andrrew smiled.

"Oh, this is going to be great! We can get the Dingoes to play..."

Anya

"Yeah!"

Anya grinned.

"So, shall we go a house hunting soon?"

Andrew

Andrew nodded vigourously.

"Yep! Somewhere nearish the club, if we can."

Anya

"Yeah, seeing as we'll be spending most of our time here."

Anya started to lead him out of the building.

"We should look for something with a basement or something, we could convert into a gym?"

Andrew

"Yeah, definetely."

Andrew looked thoughtful.

"More then one bathroom. Lots of bedrooms...or rooms that can be converted into bedrooms. Library. Big kitchen."

Anya

"Yeah... a study... living room... dining room..."

Anya unlocked the car and hopped into the drivers seat, and waited for Andrew.

Andrew

"We're...going to need a really big house."

Andrew got into the passenger seat, closing the door behind him.

"A huge one."

Anya

"I know."

Anya started the car and pulled a real estate magazine out and handed it to Andrew.

"There were a few things that I saw... but I don't know... didn't want to make the decision without you."

Andrew

Andrew looked at her with surprise. Hardly anyone wanted to know his opinion, let alone asked for it...

"I'm sure anything you thought would be suitable would be fine."

He opened it.

"The ones circled in red are the ones I'm looking at?"

Anya

Anya nodded.

"Yes, I am extremely efficient."

She flipped her indicator on and changed lanes.

"I'll take you to the one I thought would be the best. The one..." She briefly glanced at the page. "On the next page. It's got a star next to it."

Andrew

Andrew flipped the page.

"Looks good. Looks almost too good to be true, in fact...nothing like a poltergeist or demon infestation, is there? Not that we can't handle that if we have to.."

Anya

"Not sure. Probably not."

Anya paused.

"Or with our Sunnydale luck, probably. But yes, as you said, we can handle it."

Andrew

"Sunnydale was...a place that won't be forgotten by those that lived there."

Andrew paused.

"Despite the fact that it was nicknamed Sunnyhell, for very good reasons...but it taught us all a lot of valuable lessons."

Anya

"Yes, and it will be remembered."

Anya pulled up outside a house.

"Hmmm, we're here."

Andrew

"Great!"

Andrew hopped out of the car and headed eagerly up the walk after closing the door and locking it behind him.

"Well, it looks good from the outside..."

Anya

Anya hopped out and locked her door, tucking the keys into her pocket, and following Andrew.

"It does..."

She opened the door and walked through, taking his hand and pulling him after her.

"It's nice and spacious."

Andrew

"It is," Andrew agreed as he looked around at the large entrance/living room they were in.

"Let's take a look around down the bottom first, then look upstairs."

Anya

"Good idea."

Anya headed through the house and gasped.

"Ok, we've only been here for about five minutes and I like it."

Andrew

Andrew made a noise of approval as he looked at the kitchen.

"Better then the one we've got now."

He went over to a small door and opened it, revealing steps downards.

"Found the basement."

He flicked on a light near the steps.

"Big basement."

Anya

Anya followed him.

"Yes, this will be a good training space."

Anya frowned.

"And if it isn't big enough, there is always the back yard."

Andrew

"This place has a backyard too?" Andrew exclaimed.

He headed over to the kitchen window.

"Wow. And we haven't even been upstairs yet..."

Anya

"Then let's go see upstairs!"

Anya grinned and headed upstairs, her blonde hair flicking out as she ran from the room and up the stairs.

"OH MY GOD!" she yelped in excitement.

Andrew

Andrew laughed and walked after her slowly.

"What is it?"

He climbed the stairs.

Anya

"This is my bedroom!" Anya exclaimed, leaning against the doorframe of the largest bedroom.

"It's amazing!"

Andrew

"Great!"

Andrew grinned, then kept exploring.

"ANYA! There's a SPA!"

Anya

Anya practically flew from the room she was in to find him.

"That's it, we are TOTALLY buying this one!"

Andrew

"Yep!"

Andrew bounced slightly.

"I don't think we could find a better house..."

ANya

"Shall we go to the Real Estate Agents now?"

Anya grinned happily.

"Our own house, our own club!"

Andrew

"And maybe our own magic shop too!"

Andrew's grin matched her.

"I never thought I would be involved in anything like this...let alone as someone in charge..."

Anya

Anya hugged him.

"Little monkey."

She kissed his forehead.

"You deserve this very much. As do I. After all, we have both been through many hardships. Now, shall we?"

Andrew

"Yep!"

Andrew was truly happy with what was going on.

They went and arranged the purchase of the house.
