10 October 2003 - Human shaped again

Tegan and AiMsTeR

Mouse

Mouse woke up and petted Fafnir's head softly as she sat up.

She stumbled to the bathroom, not really awake yet and having totally forgotten what had happened the night before.

She squeaked, then closed the door again.

"Well."

She shut her eyes.

Ohhhh, bad bad Mouse. Don't think about how lucky Natty is...Bad Mouse! I said, don't think!

"Tay, I think we can unfreeze them now...and we need to get Ewan some clothes."

Taylor

Taylor moaned from the bed and rubbed his eyes.

"Yeah, yeah..."

He rolled over and closed his eyes again, before it registered what she'd said.

"Oh!"

He sat up, looking towards her.

"Umm... yeah. I dunno if Zac's up."

Mouse

Mouse closed her eyes slightly.

Saku was however.

"Saku's up. I think we can count on Zac being up shortly." She went back over to the bed and sat down next to Taylor. She kissed him softly. "At least the..." she bit her lip, trying to think of the word," "the bloodlust has died down again. They felt that so strongly..."

Saku sat up in his bed and rubbed his eyes, yawning. He looked over at his father and Ike, then yawned again. He could still smell the wolf type people...he sneezed in disgust.

Taylor

Taylor leant over and kissed her again, before sighing.

"Yeah. I don't normally feel it, but..."

He shook his head.

"Things just keep getting weirder."

Then he chuckled.

"Isn't it weird
Isn't it strange
EVen though we're just two strangers
On this runaway train

We're both trying to find
A place in the sun
We've lived in the shadows
But doesn't everyone?

Isn't it strange
How we all
Get a little bit weird
Sometimes..."

Mouse

Mouse listened to him, smiling slightly.

"I love listening to you sing. You have such a nice voice..."

Saku got out of his bed, shifted and padded over to his father's bed. He scrambled up onto the bed, and then sat on Zac's chest. He tiltied his head slightly, then let out a piercing mew.

Taylor

Taylor smiled and kissed her again, before slipping into the chorus.

"Sitting on the side
Waiting for a sign
Hoping that my luck will change
Reaching for a hand that could understand
Someone who feels the same

When you live in a cookie-cutter world
Being different is a sin
So you don't stand out
But you don't fit in
Weird..."

He ran his fingers through her hair in thanks.

Zac

Zac wiggled and moaned.

"I didn't mean to do it again," he mumbled.

Mouse

Mouse listened, feeling oddly content. Despite the two naked werewolves in her bathroom.

Fafnir and Bets watched Taylor, ears pricked. Singing was something they understood. It was like howling, two legger style.

Saku eyed his father oddly. Well, that was strange. He fastened his claws in the blanket so he didn't get thrown off by accident, and mewed again. Louder this time.

Taylor

"We released 'Weird' not long after Mmmbop actually," Taylor sighed thoughtfully.

"I don't know if you were into movies, but the guy who directed Notting Hill... Gus Van Sant? He directed the video clip for it. It was pretty cool."

He glanced toward the bathroom, and pursed his lips.

"Maybe we should get Zac up ourselves."

Zac

Zac blinked.

"Morning Saku," he said.

He closed his eyes again, then opened them and sighed.

"You want me to get up and feed you don't you?"

Mouse

"I watched the movie..." Mouse grinned. "It was funny. I liked the weird flatmate."

She sighed.

"Maybe we should. I'll find some of Nat's clothes...who do you think would be closest to Ewan in size?"

Saku leapt down onto the floor, then turned to stare at Zac expectantly.

Taylor

"Maybe Ike or Zac could make him something. Although he could be close to Ike's size... not as skinny as me, but not as built as Zac," Taylor considered.

He groaned a little, then finally threw the covers off and stood.

"Man..." he put his hands on his head, "if only I'd tried to turn Ewan away sooner..."

He turned to the window.

Zac

Reluctantly, Zac got out of bed.

"C'mon, Saku," he said with a yawn.

He grabbed his dressing gown on the way to the kitchen.

Mouse

Mouse went over to him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Don't blame yourself. Besides, he was at least helpful once. Although...I think he would have left a lot eariler if Nat hadn't caught his attention..."

Saku padded after Zac. Stalking the hem of his dressing gown.

Taylor

"He just seems to be making more and more trouble," Taylor almost laughed, shaking his head as he put his arms down.

"And you know... Nat's a werewolf now. I know she hates me. For all I know she could come after me."

Zac

Zac opened up the fridge and pulled out the milk and some fish. He put them into appropriate containers and altered their temperature to what he knew Saku liked.

"There you go," he said.

Mouse

"She...doesn't hate you, exactly," Mouse said heistantly.

"I think something must have happened back at the labs. It's more like she's scared of you. Scared of what you could do, but then again...she's basically scared around any male."

She frowned.

"Except Ewan. Which is really...odd. We should see about getting them unfroze."

Saku purred, twining against Zac's ankles before settling down to eat.

Taylor

"She doesn't seem to mind Ike either," he shrugged, looking uncomfortable.

"And yeah..."

Taylor headed for the door, then made his way toward Zac's room and knocked.

"Hey Zac? We got a couple of frozen bodies that need... defrosting."

Zac

Zac smiled at Saku then went over to the door.

"Bodies that need... oh yeah!" Zac said.

He opened the door and grinned at Taylor.

"I'll do it now."

And he headed to the bathroom, opened the door, raised an eyebrow, then restored them to normal temperature.

Mouse, Natalia and Ewan

Ewan slumped onto the floor, dazed.

Natalia just blinked, then looked at her hand, then over at Ewan.

"Well...that was fun. Except for the ice thing."

Mouse got some of Natalia's clothes and handed them in, eyes averted.

Natalia stood up and sauntered over to get them. Before, her walk had screamed victim, oh please don't hurt me any more. Now...much more predatory. Assured. Confident. She started to get dressed.

Mouse moved away again.

Ewan sat up, figleafing himself with one knee and rubbing his face.

"I..." He looked at Natalia. "Oh god, bonny, I'm so sorry."

"Don't be," Natalia said simply. She grinned. "I kinda like it."

"Ohhhh dear..." Mouse murmured. "Zac, could you, ah, make some clothes for Ewan please?"

"That would be good..." Ewan rubbed his head. "Feel like I went on one hell of a bender, without any of the fun beforehand..."

Natalia sat next to him and leaned her head against his shoulder, purple eyes a lot more alert then they had been before. "Don't beat yourself up about it. I find myself thinking clearly for the first time in oh, years. It's a pleasant change." She flashed her teeth in an almost grin.

Zac

Zac shrugged.

"Yeah, I could do that, but it would be easier to find some and then alter them," he said. "I'll be right back."

And Zac trotted back to his room.

Natalia and Mouse

Mouse wasn't sure whether to take the changes in Natalia as a good thing or a bad thing. Plus, she wasn't scared. That had been a constant since Mouse had known her. Negative, the reason she wasn't scared was because she could kill the person who might scare her. Mouse sighed.

Natalia tilted her head slightly to look at her.

"You have no idea what this is like..."

"And I think I like being alien, thanks."

"Who knows if it would take? Never heard of an alien werewolf."

"I really don't want to be the first one."

"Not going to bite you. And tell the wolves that we're not going to try and move in on their territory. Geez." Natalia rolled her eyes.

Bets and Fafnir looked at Mouse, then pressed closer together, soft growls reverberating through their throats.

Zac

Zac soon returned with some clothes for Ewan.

"These are Ike's," Zac said. "If they don't fit, let me know and I'll atomise 'em for ya."

Ewan, Mouse and Natalia

"Thanks, I'm sure they'll be fine," Ewan said quietly.

Natalia took them from Zac, then slid the door to the bathroom shut.

Ewan got dressed quickly, the clothes fitting him mostly well. He rubbed a hand over his face, wincing as he felt the stubble on his jaw.

"I need to get back to my hotel room."

"Good." Natalia nodded. "And I'm coming with you."

"Bonny, ye can't..."

"Well, can't stay here. Don't want to either." Natalia moved over to him and hugged him, resting her head against his chest. "What happened last night..."

"Should never have happened. Oh god, bonny, I'm so sorry..."

"Stop apologising," Natalia ordered him. "Do I look like I care? No. Now I want to get out of thix city before tonight..."

"Good idea."

"You can get lost easy in Canada..."

Ewan held her to him for a few more moments, then went and opened the door.

Mouse was petting her Pack, trying to comfort them. They didn't like werewolves and made this opinion abundantly clear.

"Thanks for the clothes," Ewan said to Zac.

Zac

"Don't thank me, thank Ike," Zac replied cheekily. "But not now, because he's still asleep."

He chuckled mischeviously.

Natalia, Ewan and Mouse

"Aye..." Ewan was a bit at a loss as for what to do. He ran a hand through his red hair nervously.

Natalia giggled slightly. "Aw, c'mon, Ewan...let's go then. We'll send the clothes back in the mail or something."

"What?" Mouse asked.

"I'm going with him. Thanks ever so much for the delightful hospitality but Blakesley is gonna come back after you...and let's face it, you're not exactly low profile people. We," she bit Ewan;s ear gently, "will find it much easier to stay undercover and disappear."

Zac

"She has a point," Zac said to Mouse.

He held out his hand to Ewan.

"Pleasure meeting you, and good luck to you both."

Natalia, Ewan and Mouse

Ewan shook Zac's hand.

"Pleasure ta meet ye as well. Thanks. Say thanks to your other brother too. We'd best be going."

Natalia hugged Zac briefly.

"Say thanks to Ike for me. He...really helped at some rather bad points. We'll try ever so hard not to eat anyone, promise."

"Yeah, thanks for that," Mouse said dryly.

"Drop ya a line occassionally. Just so you know we're still living." Natalia smiled. "Watch out for the doctor. He's going to be very, very angry."

"Sod him," Ewan said briefly. "One day he's gonna get killed by someone he hurt, or something like that. And it'll serve him right. I just hope it's bluidy painful."

The two werewolves moved towards the door.

"See ya then." Mouse nodded.

"Not to be rude or anything...but hopefully not." Natalia grinnned cheekily. "You seem to trail trouble..."

Zac

"It's the Hanson family curse," Zac joked. "I'll give Ike your thanks, Nat. And if you do eat anyone, make sure it's someone evil."

Zac paused.

"On second thought, don't. They'll probably poison you."

Natalia, Ewan and Mouse

Natalia laughed huskily, and Ewan grinned. A hint of the wolf in their smiles, and then they were gone out the door.

Mouse let out the breath she didn't know she'd been holding.

"Ok..."

Fafnir shook his head crossly. I *really* don't like werewolves.

Mouse went to the window and watched Ewan and Natalia run across the street, her holding onto his hand. They caught up on the other side, Natalia in Ewan's arms, and waved before disappearing into the city crowds.

"She's a lot different when she's not insane..."

Zac

"Yeah," Zac agreed. "Ewan probably did her a favour by biting her. Anyway, I'd better get back to Saku. See ya later Mousey."

And he headed back to his room.
