Ewan, Natalia and Mouse
Ewan watched the last of the sun slip over the horizon, and turned to face the moon. He wasn't sure what to expect.
But oh GOD...
He hadn't expected it would hurt so much.
His bones cracked and shifted, voice phasing from the howl of a man to the howl of the beast. Fur sprouted and teeth grew. Soon, he was the wolf. Beast, no longer man.
Ewan surveyed the night, and raised his head to the moon to howl at it.
Fafnir leapt to his feet and stalked to the window. Something's hunting. He snarled his own challenge to the night.
Mouse sat up in bed, one hand rubbing at her eyes. "What?"
Something...fierce. It's hungry. Fafnir howled.
"Faf...just shut up and lie down..."
I can hear it as well. Bets got up and padded over to her mate. Hunting. It's hunting, and it's lonely... She shivered. And oh so angry...
Ewan scented the air and padded through Toronto. He could smell...Her. His Mate. She wasn't quite yet, but She would be. He followed Her scent. She smelt...like wildflowers and air. Free. He howled again, throwing his head back to bay.
Fafnir snarled. Whatever it is, it's coming closer.
He's...He's looking for his mate... Bets whispered, eyes half closing. He can smell her, and he's so lone. No Pack. He knows he should have one, but he doesn't. He's all alone...and it aches.
GO AWAY! Fafnir howled out the window. There's nothing for you here, wanderer!
Ewan heard the challenge and growled.
Natalia woke up to hear Fafnir howl. She went to her window, and looked out, resting her hands on the window ledge.
An enormous red wolf padded down the street and her eyes widened.
"Ewan..." she breathed.
Ewan lifted his head again, and howled. Longing and despair...dislocation and loneliness as the man within struggled with the beast. But both in agreement over one thing. Their devotion to Natalia.
Mate, the wolf snarled.
Bonny, the man sighed.
Taylor
Taylor moved toward the window cautiously, a hand resting on the sill as he looked down into the street.
"They're right," he said to Mouse, "there's a... a huge wolf coming this way. Looking for a..."
He shook his head, trying to gather his thoughts.
Ewan, Natalia and Mouse
"Oh god, he's hurting so badly..." Mouse whispered. "But he's so angry...so *hungry*..." She shivered and moved into Taylor's side.
Ewan cocked his head and regarded the hotel he could smell his Mate in. He whined, then howled. Come out, love. Come out.
Bets pressed into Fafnir's side, shaking. He doesn't mean me...and there's not another bitch in here. I don't know what he wants.
Natalia leaned forward slightly and let a violet fall to the earth.
Ewan leapt up and caught it between his teeth, sniffing it. He dropped it and howled again. Come out. I can smell you, Mate. You're here. And we shall hunt...and you shall never fear again. Mine. I protect what's mine.
Natalia turned and left the room.
Taylor
Taylor put an arm around Mouse as he watched what happened.
"Natalia..." his eyes widened.
"Jane... he means Natalia. Where is she?"
Mouse, Natalia and Ewan
"She's in the next..." Mouse's voice died away as Natalia floated out onto the street like a wraith.
She was wearing a long white nightgown with her black cuffs and collar. Golden hair spilling down her back, face calm.
Ewan panted and whined as he frolicked around her. Mate! You came! He put his paws on her shoulders and she staggered slightly, then laughed, completely unafraid.
"Oh god..." Mouse whispered as the wolf nuzzled at Natalia's neck.
Take this off, mine. Ewan's teeth sheared through the collar. And the other dead cow things. He got down so she could.
The cuffs hit the ground and Natalia bent to take off the ones on her ankles.
An approving rumble reverberated out of Ewan's chest.
Taylor
"Oh man..." Taylor cringed, watching what was going on.
"Maybe we should... Ike or Zac could... you know..."
Natalia, Mouse and Ewan
"Yeah...we should get them. Ike could move them, or Zac could freeze the wolf." Mouse stared for a moment longer.
I think it's kinda sweet, actually. Bets commented. You can tell he's come a long way for her.
Yeah, but she's not a wolf!
"She will be soon if we don't..." Mouse gulped.
"Ewan..." Natalia rubbed his ears and he almost purred.
Mate. Mine. Always Mine. And I will make it so...
Taylor
"Ike?! ZAC?!"
Taylor let go off Mouse as he backed away from the window, then rushed towards his brothers' room.
He banged on the door.
"Guys?! Need help out here..."
Isaac and Zac
Isaac opened the door.
"What's wrong Tay?" Isaac asked in concern.
Zac looked up from playing with Saku in interest.
Taylor
"There's a werewolf out front, and I'm guessing it's Ewan," Taylor looked worried and a little scared.
"He's... he's got Natalia out there. I don't know what he's gonna do to her."
Mouse, Natalia and Ewan
Ewan nuzzled Natalia's neck. Mine. Love you. Protect you from everything. KILL those that hurt you.
Well, he's got the right idea. Bets said.
Mouse watched with wide eyes. "Hurry up, Tay..."
Natalia hugged the wolf tightly. "I love you. My protector."
Isaac and Zac
Isaac's eyes widened.
"Dang..."
He looked at Zac. Zac picked up Saku and they followed Taylor to where Mouse, Bets and Fafnir were waiting.
Taylor
Taylor leant on the sill as his brothers saw what was happening.
"I think at least one of you need to... try something. Just get down there," he shook his head, wistfully.
Natalia, Mouse and Ewan
Mouse squeezed her eyes shut. Ewan felt *so* strongly, it was starting to give her a headache. "I think...I need to sit down. He just...*feels*. Everything. It's so strong..." She went over to the bed and sat down on it heavily, one hand going to her head.
Fafnir whined anxiously, and put his head in her lap. You alright?
"I will be..."
Ewan threw his head back and howled. MINE! Love you, need you, adore you, protect you, KILL for you. Just need to change you first...Make you truly mine.
Natalia petted his fur with her hands. "Ewan..."
Isaac and Zac
"Ike?" Zac asked.
Isaac nodded.
"She's... she doesn't seem very afraid of him..." Isaac observed. "Still..."
He grabbed hold of Ewan telekinetically and pulled him away fron Natalia.
Mouse, Natalia and Ewan
Mouse cried out, hands flying to the sides of her head and slowly curling into a ball as Ewan went berserk.
Jaws snapping and flailing with his feet as Ike moved him. NO! He was furious, beyond what restraint his humanity had laid on him. He looked like the wild thing he now was.
Natalia looked upwards, face shocked and white. "What...he wouldn't hurt me."
She almost looked betrayed, then she turned and ran quickly to where Ewan was howling with rage and snarling.
"Now."
Ewan bit down on the curve of her neck, and Natalia winced as his teeth entered.
She could feel the change racing through her blood. Something dark and fey. And it howled for the moon...
MINE! MY MATE! Ewan howled in defiance, mouth red tinged with her blood as Natalia crumpled to her knees beside him. He nosed her anxiously, whining as he waited for the bite to take effect.
Isaac
"Damn..." Isaac gulped. "I... I..."
He shook his head as if in denial.
"I thought I had him... oh man... I didn't think... oh man..."
He couldn't believe Ewan had bitten Natalia!
Mouse, Ewan and Natalia
Mouse winced and then went to the window. She...she had to see this.

Fafnir and Bets paced, whining uneasily.
Natalia got shakily to her feet and watched as the white fur started to sprout in. She threw her head back and howled as she fell forward onto all fours.
Ewan howled with her, wolfsong rising above the streets and bringing an eerie hush to the city. All the animals tensed, and the humans turned, suddenly afraid. The howl striking some atavastic nerve.
"They're going to hunt..." Mouse whispered. She looked at Ike in fear. "You have to make sure they don't...humans are prey."
Ewan growled happily as Natalia got up again onto her paws, slightly unsteady as she processed that she now had four feet instead of two.
Mate.
Mate. She agreed, nuzzling his neck and nipping lightly with her new curved teeth. We hunt?
We hunt. And play...
She yipped laughter, feeling stronger, braver with the change. And somehow saner. A beautiful white wolf with purple eyes, slightly smaller then Ewan in his coppery tinged fur.
Isaac and Zac
Isaac nodded and was about to use his telekinesis again when Zac stopped him.
"You can't stop them from hunting in defintely like that, Ike," Zac said. "Allow me."
He froze Natalia and Ewan cryogenically.
"As long as I'm in the vincity they'll stay like that," Zac informed them. "Once they're out of my range, they'll just melt. So, what do we do now?"
Mouse
Mouse rubbed her hand softly over her rounded belly, calming her babies.
"I have absolutely no idea...we can't just leave them there...they'll be human again by morning."
Zac
"Umm, move them into the bathroom?" Zac suggested. "We can lock them in and leave them there until morning?"
Taylor
"God..."
Taylor moved backwards and sat on the bed, running his fingers through his hair.
"I can't believe it. This is my... I never trusted Ewan," he shook his head, "if I could have turned him away before, none of this would have happened..."
Mouse
"Weren't you listening?" Mouse said quietly, as she looked down at the frozen wolves.
"He loves her...and he's going to regret this in the morning when he's human again. He will. And Natalia..."
She shook her head slightly.
"She wanted him to. She went out to him, she offered her neck. And something...something's changed in her...it might just be the wolf, but I'll be able to tell for sure in the morning."
I still think it's kinda sweet. Bets commented. He's been trailing her all the way since Tulsa.
I was hoping he'd just give it up and go away. Fafnir said grumpily. Idiot werewolves. Don't like them. They're not proper beast. And they're not two leggers either.
Isaac and Zac
Saku yawned.
"Tired huh?" Zac said. "C'mon, I'll get you to bed."
"And I'll move them into the bathroom," Isaac said, already taking a hold of them. "Man... I wish I... but it's too late now..."
Mouse
"Don't beat yourself up over it, Ike," Mouse said.
"If it hadn't happened tonight...it probably would have happened at some time when you weren't there to make sure they didn't eat people. Which they were going to."
She shuddered slightly.
"Sometimes, I really hate being an empath..."
Isaac
Isaac nodded as her brought Ewan and Natalia inside.
"Thank you," he said quietly.
He opened up the bathroom door and locked them in.
Taylor
Taylor made his way over to Mouse and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her forehead.
"It'll work out... eventually..." he whispered, having doubts himself, but trying to block them from her.
Mouse
"Don't block me," Mouse reproved gently.
"It will...I think. But god..."
She shut her eyes.
"He just wasn't meant to be there..."
Isaac
"This is going to take awhile," Isaac commented. "For both us and them."
