8 October 2003 - Getting The Milk

AiMsTeR and Tegan

Christian

Christian opened the fridge door to find some milk. Ok, out.

He closed the door, wondering just how much freedom Christina was willing to let him have. Enough to get to the shop and back?

Well, there was only one way to find out. With any luck, he'd be back before she awoke anyway. He took some money from the table, and left.

Spook

Chirstina rubbed her face tiredly as she made her way into the kitchen. Ok. Breakfast first, then...

"Christian?" She called out.

No answer.

Frowning, she started to look around the house. No Christian.

RK wrapped himself around her ankles as she sank onto the front step of the porch. Ok. Now what? She should go after him, but Christ...her head hurt so badly it was hard enough to think.

A tear of blood slipped down her cheek and she rested her chin in her hand as the other hand petted the cat. He'd taken the car, and she didn't have another one.

That's what you get for trusting people.

Christian

Christian got the milk, extra just in case, then paid and began to head back.

He was still puzzling over what had happened the day before. There must have been some kind of internal bleeding for that happen... Well, maybe she'd finally die. Then it wouldn't be all that bad.

As he pulled the car into the driveway, he saw her sitting on the front step. Groaning a little, he pulled to a stop and leant over to grab the bag of milk.

Spook

Christina looked up as the car pulled into the driveway. "You're back." She was more then a little surprised. She'd figure he'd go and just keep going.

Christian

"Doesn't really take that long," Christian held the milk up for her to see, then shut the door behind him and made his way over.

He put the keys in his pocket, then sat beside her on the step.

Spook

"Ah." Christina ran her fingers through RK's fur. He purred, and butted his head against Christian's knee. "Didn't think you would. Be back, that is."

Christian

"Can't say I wouldn't have considered it," Christian chuckled a little.

"But I made a promise, and I'll stick by it."

He reached down and scratched the cat behind the ears again.

Spook

"Nice to hear. Some people...just don't keep their promises." Christina smiled slightly. "So. I got the lead on one of Blakesley's bases. You think if we burnt it to the ground, it would really annoy him? Or just be hella fun?"

Christian

Christian grinned, eyes to the ground.

"Anything to annoy him is fun in itself."

He stood up again, and went to put the milk in the fridge before it went off.

Spook

"True, true..." Christina got up and followed him inside. "Want a coffee?" She filled the jug up and and flicked it on. "The other thing I was thinking about was...there's this little town. Tiny, really. All alien. Could be fun."

Christian

"I just wanna piss Blakesley off for now," Christian replied, sitting at the table and picking at his nails.

"Not that that couldn't be fun. And yeah, coffee. Cool."

Spook

"Well, that's today planned out then," Christina said as she got them both cups of coffee. "We can head over there later." She put a mug in front of him, then hopped up on the bench to sip at her own.

Christian

Christian nodded to himself, and took the mug into his hands.

"Could be interesting," he said softly, taking a sip.
