Faith
Faith jogged away from the Hanson's house, quickly. She had left a present for Zac, because she couldn't bare to end their relationship on such a sad note. It wasn't them.
So if he opened the package, he'd find a pair of spanky pants that said "Zac's" and lyrics to a song.
Hold on to me love
You know I can't stay long
All I wanted to say was I love you and I'm not afraid
Can you hear me?
Can you feel me in your arms?
Holding my last breath
Safe inside myself
Are all my thoughts of you
Sweet raptured light it ends here tonight
I'll miss the winter
A world of fragile things
Look for me in the white forest
Hiding in a hollow tree
Come find me
I know you hear me
I can taste it in your tears
Holding my last breath
Safe inside myself
Are all my thoughts of you
Sweet raptured light it ends here tonight
Closing your eyes to disappear
You pray your dreams will leave you here
But still you wake and know the truth
No one's there
Say goodnight
Don't be afraid
Calling me, calling me as you fade to black
As she ran faster, she let the tears fall from her eyes.
This was for the best.
It was.
Zac
Zac had arrived home from the Xavier Institute.
"There was a package for you," Diana informed him. "I put it in your room."
Zac nodded and made his way down. He paused just before he opened the door to his room and opened the door to the rest of the basement.
"I'm gonna get it cleaned out," he told a sleeping Saku. "And it'll be your room. You'll probably have to share it with Dez's kid too eventually, but that's not the point."
He grinned and then entered his room. He put Saku in his bed, and put down all his luggage. Then he tended to the package.
It was from Faith.
A smile appeared in his face the same time as tears pricked his eyes as he pulled out the pants. He chewed his bottom lip and then noticed the lyrics.
Halfway through the first verse he had to drop down to his bed.
Damn it, why did it all hurt so much?
