27 January 2003 - Movin' out

Julie/Zac

A hand reach out and grabbed Juile, pulling her behind a tree.

"Zac!" she hissed. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, not much, just figured I'd pay a visit to my girlfriend. Have you seen her?" he asked sarcasstically. "She's been avoiding me for the past week. Won't answer my call or reply to me e-mail. She stood me up at our date - I was waiting three freaking hours! Oh, and the last time I did call, her father goes and tells me that if he ever sees me around you agin he'll kill me. And lets add to that when I arrived here I discover a 'for sale' sign outside your house. Call me paranoid, but I think something's up."

"Zac, you can't be here! Dad is very serious about killing you."

"Yeah? And I'm very serious when I say I'm not leaving until I get an explanation."

Julie gulped, looked towards the house, and then looked back.

"The longer you take to tell me, the longer I'll be here," Zac warned.

She signed.

"I'm pregnant."

Zac stared. He was silent for a moment.

"Is it mine?" then added quickly: "Honestly."

A small, relieved smile crossed her face.

"Honestly? I don't know. But Dad know you are... were my boyfriend. He blames you."

"Hmph. Well, if it's any consolation, I was cheating on you too."

"I know."

Their eyes met.

"Zac, you and I... we're so bad for each other."

Zac grinned.

"Yeah, I know. But it was fun."

"Yeah."

"Where are you moving too?"

"Roswell, New Mexico."

"Your father hates me that much?"

"He got offered a job there. He was going to decline, but when this... well, y'know."

Zac nodded.

"Sure. Hey, look, we can still be friend right? On the net?"

Julie looked hesitant.

"I don't know."

"Well, at least... know that if you ever need help, with the baby or not, I'm going to be here. I promise."

She smiled.

"Okay. Thank you. Now would you please go before Dad catches me. He already grounded me, I'd hate to think what he'd do if he knew I'd been speaking to you."

"Okay, pokay, I'm going. Good bye Julie."

"Good bye Zac."

Zac turned and left.
