Miette
"Mi!" called her mother, Rowena. "There's a package here for you!"
Miette came curiously down the stairs. Rowena gave her a thick A4 envelope.
"Thanks," she said. "Who's YIRAAS?"
Rowena shook her head, not knowing. Miette turned the envelope over and ripped open the seal. Inside there were some loose sheets of paper and two thin newsletters. Miette read the first loose sheet which was a letter.
Dear Miette,
As president, I would like to formally welcome you to YIRRAS, the "Yes I'm Really An Alien Society". As an alien/human hybrid with powers, you have been given a Full Membership, which allows you to participate in all YIRAAS events.
It went on to talk about other benefits of membership, what kind of events they held and that they have a quarterly newsletter. It was a copy of the last issue that they had sent her, as well as a directory. The other sheets proved to be another letter and a registration form for the upcoming tournament in February.
Rowena, who had been looking at all of it as Miette did, grew nervous.
"Honey, don't let your father see this," she warned. "I'd hate to think what would happen then."
Miette nodded.
"I don't want to think about it either. Don't worry Mum, I'll keep this stuff well hidden."
