Rachel/Jessica
Rachel Evans knocked on the Hansons' front door, rocking from side to side, impatiently. Finally, the door opened.
"Hey Rachel," Zac said, "Come on in."
"Hey Zac, how was your New Years?"
"It was okay. We had a huge party."
"Yeah, so Jessi said. I wish I could have been there."
"What did you do for New Years?"
"Oh, my friends and I hung out at Cassie's house, had ourselves a mini-party." Jess walked up.
"Hey Rachel, ready for an awesome weekend?"
"Totally. I need saving from that horrible preppy school. Gah," she shuddered.
"Okay, so here's the plan. I was thinking we could rent a bunch of movies tonight, and then tomorrow: the mall."
"Sounds great to me!" Rachel dropped her sleeping bag and her bookbag in Jessi's room, and then changed out of her uniforn, before she and Jessi went to the video store.
"Hey Zac," Rachel said as they were about to leave, "Wanna go to Blockbuster with us?"
Zac
"Hmm, let me think about this..." Zac said, with a frown. "Stay at home and play games on the Playstation or go to Blockbuster with a couple of girls. It's such a tough choice. What did you want to watch?"
Rachel
"We haven't decided yet," Rachel said, flashing her patented "Xena" grin. "We figured we'd just look around and see what looks good. Maybe a comedy or two and a couple of chick flicks. And maybe some alien movies. We can laugh at how wrong their theories are."
Zac
"Lemme see, Playstation or chick flicks. Playstation. Chick flicks," Zac said, weighing out the options. "Lots of fun. Getting stuck with stupid mushy scenes and dumb problems. Erm..."
He gave them a long look as if to say 'what do you think?'
Rachel
"Come on, it'll be fun. We can rent some cheesy SF flicks, and laugh at their misinterpretation on aliens on Earth. I'll even spring for the chocolate." Rachel prodded. "You can always play video games while we watch the mushy movies. And as we walk, we can make fun of the people who stare at us. That's always fun" Rachel didn't want to sound desperate, but as much as Jessi was her best friend, she also liked to spend time with Zac. He wasn't serious like Tobias, he was like a big clown, on the non-scary variety.
Zac
"Rach, people aren't going to be staring at us. They're going to be staring at me," he smirked, teasing. "I mean, c'mon, who would be interested in you? But hey, you twisted my arm. Cheesy sci-fi flicks are funny."
Zac then linked arms with Rachel and Jessica.
"This is like the Wizard of OZ: We're off to see the wizard! The wonderful wizard of OZ. We hear he is a wonderful wiz - erm, why are you looking at me like that? Okay, I'll stop," he laughed.
Rachel/Jessica
"Zac, don't be an idiot," Jess ordered her brother.
"Come on, Jess, it'll be fun, we can sing cheesy showtunes off-key and draw attention to ourselves. You know you want to,' Rachel prodded.
Zac
"Cheesy songs are fun," Zac agreed, moving forward and practically dragging Rachel and Jess in the process. "Ding dong the witch is dead..."
Rachel/Jessica
Grudgingly, Jess joined in. Rachel, however, was happy to sing along. Finally, they made it to the video store.
"Hey, let's get 'The Wozard of Oz' just for the heck of it. I haven't seen it in ages!" Rachel said.
Zac
"Get out the Wizard of Oz? I knew I shouldn't have started singing those songs. Oh, if I only had a brain..." he broke off and gave them a big silly grin.
Rachel/Jessica
"Okay," Jess said, "Wo we're getting the Wizard of Oz. What else should we get?"
"Well," Rachel said, "I want at least one action flick."
Zac
"Anything with Arnie rocks," Zac declared. "I can't wait to see T3. Hmm, The Sixth Day?"
Rachel/Jessica
"I haven't heard of that one. What's it about?" Rachel asked. "Oh! We should get something with Chuck Norris!"
"You guys are insane," Jess declared. "I think we should get 'Pumpkin' and 'The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys'"
"Jess, we can get those too. How about we each pick out two or three movies. Then we can watch all night, and again tomorrow. Besides, we'll have some of these for a whole week." Rachel reasoned.
Zac
Zac stared at Rachel.
"You haven't heard of the Sixth Day? What planet have you been living on? Look, basically it's about cloning. And Arnie gets cloned. So there's two Arnold Schwartzeneggers running around. It doesn't get much cooler than that."
Rachel/Jessica
"Okay, you can make that one of yours. I'm gonna get 'Sidekicks.' Jess, do you guys own 'Romeo and Juliet'?"
"Of course, it was a birthday present from dad, when it first came out on DVD."
"Okay, then I'm gonna get 'Sidekicks' and 'The Craft'. What about you guys?"
"I think I'm gonna get 'Monsters, Inc.' and 'Pumpkin,'" Jess replied. "How 'bout you, Zac?"
Zac
"Hmm, well, "The Sixth Day" of course, "Spiderman", and since you said we could get three... "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"."
Rachel
"Monty Python rocks!" Rachel said, "But you can't have the full Monty. . . wait a second, I didn't mean that. But still, you can't have the full Monty Python experience without getting 'The Meaning of Life,' too. So I guess we'll have to get 10 movies, heehee." Rachel decided.
Zac
" "The Meaning of Life" is heck funny," Zac agreed, then made a suggestive pose and added with a grin "And you only wish you could have the full monty."
Rachel/Jessica
"You sure about that, Zac? You seem awfully eager to show it to me," Rachel teased, putting her hands on her hips.
Jessie could not believe what she was seeing. Her brother and her best friend flirting? Augh! It was enough to make her sick!
Zac
"You seem awfully eager to watch," Zac retorted "I'm sorry to disappoint you Rach, but I do not strip in public. I know you really want me to - along with half the population - but I don't."
He rubbed his hands together.
"Now, about these movies... are we gonna rent them out or not? And while we're on the subject: junk food. I want some."
Rachel/Jessica
"Zac, in your dreams. I'm sure that nobody here wants to see your tubby butt. But on the subject, junk food would be very good. Let's hit the store after we rent these puppies," Rachel said.
Jess sighed, hopefully the flirting was done for now. "Let's get out of here, or we'll never have time to watch these movies!"
Zac
"I'll pay for the movies if you two pay for the food," Zac said, wiggling his eyebrows knowingly.
Rachel/Jessica
"Groovy," Rachel replied, "Now let's hurry up." "Motion seconded and passed," Jess replied, and they hurried out of the video store.
Zac
Out of the video store and off to get junk food. Zac immediately started picking any and all munchies he felt so inclined to eat. To Rachel's and Jess's expressions he said:
"What?" quite innocently.
Rachel/Jessica
"Zac, we're not getting all that. Jess and I will pay for the food, but WE get to pick it out." Rachel insisted.
"Yeah, Zac, be fair, or I'll tell Rachel about that dream you had the other night," Jess said, grinning evilly
Zac
"Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah! We had a deal," Zac said smugly. "I paid for the DVD rental, you two pay for the food. We all picked out the DVDs, therefore, we all pick out the food. Like it ot lump it. And you can't blackmail me with that dream - whichever dream it was - because I wouldn't care if the whole world knows what I dream about. Besides, you're probably gonna tell Rach anyway now. She'll pry it out of you eventually now that she knows you have some dirt on me."
Rachel/Isabel
"Heehee, okay, but you are not eating us out of house & home. We don't have a lot of money. let's just get a few and get home, " Jess said. She and Rachel filled the cart with chocolatey goodness, and then they hecked out and headed home to pig out.
