Laura stood in the front row, screaming and clapping like, well, a Hanson fan. It was kind of weird for her. One day she would be her usual self, the next she would be playing the teeny bopper. It was an extremity she wasn't very used to.
Nevertheless, she seemed to do a pretty good job of convincing those around her that she was some sort of ditzy fan. Not that they would have believed she was a body guard in the first place!
Yet all the time she was acting, her eyes were wide open, keeping watch for any particularly, err, eager fans.
She had been to only a couple of other concerts. Neither time did she have to stop any one. Which was, in any case, a good thing.
The guys broke into Can't Stop. It was probably Laura's favourite Hanson song. Then she saw a movement out of the corner of her eye. She thought back to just before the concert...
"I'm gonna do it." A girl was telling her friend. "Gonna join me?"
"Oh gee, I don't know. Maybe..."
"C'mon, it'll be fun!"
Laura came back into the present. Yeah, she was certain these were the same two girls.
"Excuse me a sec." She murmured (not to much avail) to the girl next to her.
Damn it, why'd these girl have to have so many other girls between them?
Laura managed to grab the girls' shirt and wrenched her back to the floor.
"I don't think so girlie." Laura informed her.
"Hey, let go of me!"
"No."
Laura noticed that the girls' friend was pretending not to know her. She did eventually let go of the girl, but stayed near her as to stop her should she try again.
Which if course, she did, but this time Laura hit her in such a way that the girl couldn't continue climbing.
"We can do this the hard way, or the easy way. And the hard way involves you getting hurt." Laura told her. "If I have to stop you again...."
Laura let the threat hang, the girl glaring at her almost worriedly. But she didn't try it a third time.
