Chapter 29

The Chocolate Dimension

“Well, it’s certainly very… brown…” Zac said, looking around.

Indeed it was. Brown dirt, brown grass, brown trees, brown this, brown that.

“Umm, call me an idiot -” Isaac began.

“Okay, you’re an idiot,” Zac replied with a smirk.

“But I think it looks like… chocolate.”

“Chocolate?” Taylor repeated. “Why, Ike, I think you’re right.”

The boy reached out and grabbed some flora. He tasted it.

“Yep, it’s chocolate alright. Well, I’ve made the big time now. Teleported us to a chocolate world. Do I rock or what?”

“Or what,” Zac answered.

“Well, that a nice thing to say to your own kid from a parallel universe.”

“Hey, look, you gave me an opening. I’m gonna take it.”

“Who’s there?” called a voice.

“We are,” the boy answered.

A girl appeared. A chocolate girl.

“You mean I have visitors? I haven’t had visitors since last Tuesday. Goody, goody, goody.”

“Who are you?” asked Taylor.

“Umm, good question… I forget… hmm… I think my brain is starting to melt. All this heat, you see.”

“Okay, what are you then?”

“What does it look like? Chocolate of course!” she giggled madly and then turned into a flesh and blood human. “Sienna, self proclaimed Queen of Chocolate.”

“Self proclaimed? Then let me proclaim you the Queen. If not of chocolate, then of my heart,” said the boy.

Sienna stared, then giggled.

“Oh you flatterer.”

“Thank you.”

“Zac, I think you should talk to him about flirting with strange girls,” Isaac joked.

“Oh, gee, thanks a lot,” Sienna commented. “Y’know I was just thinking it was nice to have some male company, but if that’s gonna be your attitude, I’d rather Princess Joy came back.”

“You called?” Princess Joy said, appearing before them.

“Joy! Yay! You’re back!”

“So I am. Are these boys annoying you?”

“Only that one,” Sienna said, pointing to Isaac, then to the boy, “but he’s nice.”

“Hey, what happened to Heath?” asked Taylor.

“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Princess Joy replied, saucily.

“Yeah, that’s why I asked.”

“Well, I’m just not going to tell you.”

“And why not?”

“Because I have better things to do than make you jealous of my love life. Moron.”

“I have a question,” the boy interrupted. “Where did all this chocolate come from? How?”

“I made it,” Sienna said proudly.

“Really? Wow, you must have a forest of cocoa beans.”

“Cocoa beans? Be serious. I have an affinity with Chocolate.”

“An affinity? Mutant or Triggered? Wait! I haven’t heard of that power!”

“Well, of course you haven’t. It’s even rarer than the Gift. In fact, only Level 4 anomalies can get it.”

“Level 4? There’s no such thing as Level 4.”

“Yes there is. They’re just so rare you’ve never heard of one,” Princess Joy replied. “They only exist in certain dimensions. See, is dimension were computers, and anomalies were computer games, then Level 4 anomalies are games that require certain hardware items to play. And most dimensions just don’t have that piece of hardware.”

“I see,” the boy replied, completely confused.
