They all stared.
"To the east is the Haunted Resort, and its ever popular drowning pools. To the north is the cemetery, be sure to take the tomb tour. At the south you'll find the Grim Reaper fan club headquarters, and the Seven Temples of the Grateful Dead - the Dead Heads are holding an all day ceremony today, you don't wanna miss it! And the shops are at the north. There's a fine restaurant I know you'll want to try - the Ghost Ship. They're famous for their ghoulash. That's 'goulash' with an 'h'," the skeleton chuckled to itself. "By all means, take a few pamphlets as you leave the Tourist Swamp."
And on that, the skeleton slooshed back into the mud.
"Hmm, so where do we go first?" Taylor asked. "I think I'd like to visit the Seven Temples of the Grateful Dead."
"I wanna try the ghoulash," Zac replied.
"I'm for a swim," Isaac said.
"In the drowning pools?"
"Well, he probably just meant swimming pools."
"You sure?"
"Hey Zac," Taylor cut in. "If the drowning pools really are drowning pools, maybe your ghoulash is made out of fresh ghouls."
"It's the Land of the Living Dead. Not the Land of the Dead Dead. Duh."
"Then how do you know after you've eaten the ghoulash that you would get possessed by the ghoul?"
Zac was silent for a moment.
"And how do you know that this ceremony at the Seven Temples of the Grateful Dead doesn't involve the ritual sacrificing of tourists?"
It was Taylor turn to shut up.
"I think we should get out of here," Isaac said at last.
"Me too," Taylor agreed.
"Me three," Zac added with a smirk.
"That joke is so old," the boy commented.
"Still funny."
"Says you."
"Yes, and if I say something is funny, then something is funny."
"Something," the boy said.
"That's what I said."
"No, you said something was funny… so I said 'something' and no one laughed. I think you're wrong about something being funny."
There was silence and Isaac and Taylor looked at each other.
"Well, he might be from another dimension," Isaac commented, "but I'm convinced he's yours."
"Uh oh…" the boy said suddenly, "it's happening again…"
