"Ah ha! See? I am the butt-kicker of the world. Beatcha, beatcha, beatcha."
Jasmine smiled.
"Zac? Can you let me up? I wanna go get a drink."
"No."
"Oh, c'mon, I'm thirsty."
"And you can stay thirsty."
Jasmine got up anyway and attempted to drag Zac over to the kitchen. But as was said before, Jasmine just wasn't strong enough to do so. Finally she sat down in defeat, folding her arms across her chest.
"Now, play." Zac demanded.
Jasmine refused the controls and turned his back to him.
"Ok, I'll play against myself then."
"Jas? What would you like to drink?" Deanna asked.
Jasmine smiled at her.
"Just some water would be fine. Thanks."
"That's ok." Deanna turned to Taylor on the way to the kitchen. "You should really do something about that brother of yours."
"Which one?"
"Ha ha. Zac of course. He's so mean to her."
"Yeah, I know. And frankly, I knew, we all knew Zac was gonna really irritate whoever was chained to him. I was actually kinda hoping he's get someone who would get on his nerves. You know, like an obsessed fan or something."
Deanna smiled.
"Well, Jas appears to be a bit of a daredevil. I bet she'll get her own back eventually."
"I hope so. And I hope I'm there at the time. I wanna watch."
By this time they had returned from the kitchen and Deanna gave a grateful Jasmine her water.
"Thanks again."
"You're welcome. Bored Ike?"
"Huh?"
Isaac looked up from staring out of the window. Libby was engrossed in one of the romance novels she had bought that day.
"You look bored."
"Maybe because I am. But hey, at least she's quiet." He gestured a thumb towards Libby.
"You wanna read something too? You can read one of my books if you want."
"Sure, thanks."
"Here."
"So, Deanna, want another game of pool? I bet I can kick your butt again." Taylor asked.
"Sure, I'll have another game." She smiled.
Isaac peeked up from the book somewhere along the line. Deanna and Taylor were in the middle of their umpteenth game and he just so happened to look up when Deanna was leaning across the table, her butt sticking out.
Then he had to tell himself off for checking her out. After all, he already had a girlfriend.
