"Yeah, I know! I don't suppose you could talk to her?" Marie asked hopefully.
Sarah let out a disdainful noise.
"Oh, as if she would listen. To her I'm just the little sister who's the same age as her daughter. She never tells me anything."
"And speaking of which guess what?"
"What?"
"Last night we just found out she's pregnant."
"Really?"
"Yep."
"Man, that must be so weird for you. You're older than Alex by what? Nine years?
"Ten years and one month."
"And one month." Sarah teased.
Marie giggled.
"Well, y'know..."
"You just have to be technical huh?"
"Yeah."
"So, you still planning on seeing Mick?"
"Well, I can't really avoid him. We do go to school together. And we share a bunch of classes."
"You know what I mean."
Marie grinned.
"Oh, we'll get around it. Mick's been getting the same load from his dad."
"What does your dad think?"
"I think he thinks Mom's over-reacting a little."
"Well, that's something anyway. Maybe he can get Jess to loosen up."
"I hope so. So, you have a boyfriend yet?"
"Who me? No. not yet." Sarah sounded a little embarrassed. "Touring and stuff kinda makes it awkward to actually get a boyfriend... especially with Mackie and Zoe around. Zoe in particular."
"Say, Uncle Zac's gonna be playing with you guys huh?"
"Yeah... I don't know if it'll be better or worse that way." Sarah giggled.
