"Sure you can." Isaac encouraged.
"No I can't! I'm never gonna be able to walk on this stupid leg!"
"Yes you will. You just need practice."
Cosmo was about to object again, when Babsie arrived with a girl around little older than Cosmo with her own right leg amputated.
"I'm never gonna walk again." He said at last.
"Baby." The girl accused. "You're not even trying."
"Am too!" Cosmo objected.
"Who's this?" Isaac asked Babsie softly.
"Oh, just someone I met down at the children's hospital. She's been growing and needed a replacement before she stared walking lopsided or round in circles."
Isaac smiled at the irony.
"No you're not." The girl said to Cosmo. "Watch this!"
On that the girl, artificial leg and all started running around and jumping and stuff. Isaac shook his head in amazement.
"I still remember when they didn't like you doing anything more than walk on those legs." He murmured.
"Three cheers for modern technology." Babsie replied.
"Where's the parents?"
"I only met the mother - she had to go back to work - but she didn't mind me taking Tammy to meet Cosmo."
"Oh."
Tammy stood in front of Cosmo with a huge smile.
"Baby." She taunted.
"I'm not a baby! You're the baby!"
"You the one sitting on the ground complaining you're never gonna walk again! Baby, baby, baby."
"I'm not sure if I like the name calling." Isaac commented.
"The way I see it, Cosmo is only going to budge if he's given a little incentive. And there's no greater incentive when you're a little boy to be taunted by a little girl."
"Schemer."
"Thank you, but all compliments in writing."
Isaac laughed.
