Chapter 13

It was a few weeks later.

One of Zoe's keyboards was in the hotel room she shared with her two sisters. At the moment, she was the only one in the room and she was taking advantage of the opportunity to work on a song she had just been inspired to write.

"What does it take for you… does? What will it take for you to understand." She sang.

Then she frowned a little

"For you to understand." She sang again, going low to high.

Then she sang it from high to low, frowned some more and kept repeating both versions, trying to figure out which sounded better.

It was around then that the door opened and Zoe vaguely noticed an odd smell in the room.

"Why do you always…" she began to sing again.

Then she felt someone moving her long blonde hair away from her neck and start kissing her neck.

"What the… Oliver?"

"Mmm, don't stop singing…" he murmured.

"What are you doing?" she asked, just a little bit in shock.

Oh, ok, a lot in shock.

Oliver didn't answer, he just kept on kissing her, with his arms wrapped around her waist.

"Oliver, would you please stop?" She said softly. "Oliver?"

"No, no, I don't want to."

Zoe grew somewhat alarmed when Oliver's hands started fiddling with the hem of her shirt. It was at that point that Zoe started trying to wriggle out of his grip.

"Oliver stop!"

"Oh, come on Zoe, you know you want me as much as I want you."

"I, I," Zoe stammered, a little scared by what he just said.

She managed to wriggle out, but only temporarily. Oliver, now that she was standing up, took the opportunity to push and pin her against the wall. And he kept on kissing her.

Zoe was feeling a little distressed right now. It wasn't that she didn't like Oliver, it was more that this was the last thing she expected from him.

"Oliver, please get off -"

But she was cut off when he pressed his lips against hers. Zoe noticed that Oliver seemed to reek of the odd smell she had noticed when he came in.

Then the door opened again. Neither Zoe or Oliver saw who it was, nor did they hear Mackie say to Sarah in a stone-cold voice "Go get Dad."

But they did notice when Mackie grabbed Oliver by the back of his shirt, wrenching him off Zoe and then slammed his fist into his face. Zoe slowly slid down the wall and burst into tears. She had been rather scared by the whole incident.

"What's going on here?" Walker's voice bellowed.

He and their bodyguard Peter (who happened to be with Walker at the time that Sarah came running over to them), separated the two boys, and Walker gave them both a Look. Mackie gave Oliver a stone-cold glare and then turned to his dad.

"Oliver's been doing drugs."
