"Let's go in there." Taylor said all of a sudden.
"The karaoke club?" Diana asked.
"Yeah."
"Don't we sing enough?" Isaac joked.
"Just to be different." Taylor explained.
The only problem with that comment was that it wasn't true. Taylor mentally decided not to enlighten them with the real reason.
"It'll be fun." Zac grinned.
"Sure, why not." Walker said, turning into the parking lot.
"Can I do a song Daddy?" Avery asked.
Walker smiled.
"Certainly. Let's just make sure this is a family club."
"It is Dad." Taylor said, pointing to the people on the other side of the window. "See?"
A few minutes later they were nicely settled inside. Walker had humoured Avery, Mackie and Jess and signed them up for a song (he wouldn't reveal to the rest of the family which though).
Zac noticed that there were quite a few people glancing in their direction. It may have had something to do with the size of their group. But he doubted it.
Not much later, their younger siblings were called up. And I might add that when the first bars of 'MMMBop' played, Isaac, Taylor and Zac couldn't help but laugh.
"Nice job Avie." Zac said when they sat back down with huge grins on their faces. "I think you do a better job of Taylor than Taylor does."
"Hmm, you'd better watch out Tay, Avie wants your job." Isaac joked.
Taylor was about to reply when someone caught his eye. The grin of his face gave way to one of amazement. He sat up and started walk, then almost running.
"Hey!" He called. "Hey you!"
The figure didn't seem to hear him. Isaac hurried after Taylor as the worried and concerned looks went around the table.
Taylor ran still, out into the car park, Isaac grabbed him just before he ran out onto the road and got hit by a car.
"Taylor! Be careful! Or Avie will be taking your place in the band."
"It's Her!" he cried, struggling. "It's..."
Taylor trailed off. The tears started running down his eyes, the struggling stopped, and he just seemed to slump dejectedly in Isaac's arms.
"It's not Her."
He sank to the ground and Isaac knelt down beside him.
"What's wrong with me Ike? Why do I always see Her?"
"I... I don't know."
There was quiet for a moment.
"She's been with me a lot lately Ike. I don't know why. Everywhere I go she's right there in the back of my mind and it's driving me crazy."
Isaac said nothing. Indeed, what could he say?
"You know why I wanted to come here? Cos I've seen her in one of these places. In the dreams, I've seen her. She, She wears this dress and sings man, and there's this other girl who also sings and does this-"
"I know about the Michael Jackson thing, remember?"
There was another silence.
"I've told you everything I know about her man." Taylor said. "I just, I just want a name. If I had Her name, maybe I could find her..."
"What if she doesn't exist Tay?"
"She's gotta exist! Because, because I'm gonna go insane if she doesn't."
