Alanna gave Isaac a weird look.
"One, two -"
"Ah ha! You started at one!"
"So?"
"So does the millennium. We never had a year zero."
She laughed.
"Ok, ok. I give in." She smiled. "The year 2000 is the last year not the first year. Happy?"
"Yup." Isaac nodded. "And I think the winner deserves a kiss."
"Really? I don't." She teased, and started mingling some more.
"Aww."
And on the he started following her.
The Hanson household was holding a New Years Party. Lots of people everywhere, friends and families alike.
"Hey Tay!" Dennis called. "Where's Jade?"
"Oh, she got grounded yesterday for getting home late. She wasn't allowed to come."
Dennis grinned.
"You might have to find someone else to kiss at midnight."
"I'm not kissing you."
A look of horror crossed Dennis' face.
"I'm glad to hear that."
Taylor laughed.
"Speaking of kissing, hey Zac!"
Zac came sauntering up to them.
"Yo?"
"Have you got anyone to kiss tonight?"
"Nope."
"How come?"
Zac, having no intention of telling anyone other than Isaac, Taylor and Cassie about his little game, chose his next words carefully...
"I couldn't decide who I should bestow that privilege on."
Dennis laughed.
"You'd better watch him Tay, one day you may have to pop his big head."
"Oh you're just jealous cause I have millions of girls after me and you don't." He replied with a grin.
**********
"Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Happy New Year!"
Isaac grabbed Alanna and kissed her. Zac had somehow found himself with his cousin Kelly and gave her a peck on the cheek. To which, I might add, got an 'eww' from Kelly (Hey, she's only little). And Peta had made certain that she was the nearest girl to Taylor when it came time for the kiss.
Naturally enough Taylor felt a little guilty after smooching Peta, but it wasn't Jade he was thinking of.
